Room Air Purifier
Thank you for purchasing a Filtrete™ Room Air Purifier from 3M. This Filtrete™ Room Air Purifier comes complete with the latest advances in air filtration technology in a stylish design. We hope you will enjoy your new Filtrete™ Room Air Purifier and the improved indoor air quality it provides!
THE POWER OF FILTRETE™
Filtrete™ filters use proprietary technology to provide high filtration
efficiency and low airflow resistance. Filtrete™ filters have
electrostatically charged fibers that act
like magnets to capture particles.
Replace your filter with the Filtrete™ Premium Allergen, Bacteria & Virus filter. This filter comes packed with True HEPA filtration*.
-
- HEPA is a high-performance level of air filtration that can remove 99.97%+ of all airborne particles that pass through the filter, including dust, allergens, bacteria and viruses.
- +As small as 0.3 microns from the air passing through the filter media. Initial efficiency value.
The table below matches the filter model number with the room air purifier model number:

TIPS ON MAXIMIZING YOUR FILTRETE™ ROOM AIR PURIFIER
- Clean and seal, as much as possible, the room in which the air purifier operates.
- Continue to dust surfaces and vacuum on a normal schedule.
- Close all windows and doors during operation.
- Change filter regularly*.
*The electrostatically charged fibers are most effective when it is new. As the filter is used, the life will be consumed and the filter’s effectiveness will decrease; the actual filter life will depend on the use conditions in your home.
WHAT IS CADR AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is a measure of the reduction rate (cleaning speed) of specific particulates by an air purifier or other filtration system in a controlled environment. A higher CADR means that the air purifier cleans the air more quickly than a unit with lower CADR. CADR is the one performance measure that can be used to compare all air cleaners, as it reflects both the effectiveness and the air volume processed by the air purifier. CADR is usually measured for three particle types: smoke, dust, and pollen. According to the Asso ciation of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) Room Air Cleaner Certification Program, the recommended room size is directly related to the smoke CADR.
Look for the AHAM mark on the front of the package and the CADR rating label elsewhere on the package. The CADR rating label will list the CADR rating for tobacco smoke, dust, and pollen, and it will also list the recommended room size per the AHAM certification.
ENERGY STAR®
The FAP-C01BA-G1 and FAP-C02WA-G2 models are ENERGY STAR certified devices.
The energy efficiency of these ENERGY STAR certified models is measured based on a ratio between the model’s CADR for Smoke and the electrical energy it consumes, or CADR/Watt.
These products earned the ENERGY STAR label by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. EPA. Room air cleaners have demonstrated the potential for improving air quality and providing health benefits. EPA does not endorse manufacturer claims regarding the degree to which a specific product will produce healthier indoor air.
