Running the cleaning program before use
Before using the device for the first time, run this cleaning program at least once. Remove the lid by rotating it counter-clockwise in the direction of the groove.![WellO2 Care Breathing Training Device
- package2](https://manuals.plus/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/WellO2-Care-
Breathing-Training-Device-package2.jpg)Wait for approximately 20 minutes until
the cleaning program is finished and the device sounds a beep. Pour out the
hot water and rinse the water tank with cold water. In addition, rinse the
inserts without disconnecting them from oneanother. Now the device is ready
to use!
Note! We recommend hand washing the nasal mask with a mild soap solution after each use. Silicone is a porous material and is hardened by skin oils, lotions and make-up. To keep the silicone soft and flexible and avoid breaking it, it is recommended to wash off any dirt that gets transferred from the skin to the mask after each use. This keeps the mask soft and flexible and increases its lifespan. Silicone is a hot malleable material, so we do notrecommend cleaning it with the WellO2 device cleaning programme.
Breathing exercises
General instructions:
- Always use clean, cold, potable water in the device.
- Never leave water standing in the device after use.
- Before the exercise and after heating the water, exhale three times into the device so that the water bubbles generate more steam inside it.
- In the Wello breathing exercises, one repetition means one successive inhalation and exhalation. During inhalation, you breathe warm steam from the device. In each exercise, perform 3 to 10 energetic, steady repetitions. If the exercises feel fatiguing, breathe freely without the device for some time between the repetitions.
- Repeat the series 2 or 3 times.
- When performing the exercises for the first time, always select the lowest resistance (resistance setting 0) and lowest temperature. You can increase the resistance and temperature when you feel like it. The resistance adjustment is continuous, which means that even a slight turn of the resistance adjustment ring will increase the resistance.
- To strengthen your muscles, we recommend that you practice daily for the first month, for example every morning and evening, but in any case at least once a day.
- You can then continue the exercises as your condition allows, but we recommend that you practice at least 3 times a week.
- Remove the device from the stand before performing the breathing exercises.
- Inhale your lungs full of air.
- Empty your lungs by exhaling into the device so that the water bubbles and you can feel your core muscles activate. Exhalation generates more steam in the device. Repeat the exhalation three times to generate more steam in the device. You can breathe freely between these repetitions.
- Inhale your lungs full of air.
- Exhale heavily and steadily into the device so that the water bubbles. The muscles in your torso should activate during the exhalation.
- Immediately inhale strongly and steadily in order to breathe warm steam from the device. The muscles in your torso should activate during the inhalation.
- Exhale freely.
In each exercise, perform 3 to 10 energetic, steady repetitions.
One repetition consists of one exhalation and one inhalation. If the exercises
feel fatiguing, let yourself breathe freely between the repetitions. You can
increase the resistance from the breathing regulator when you feel like it.
Remember to maintain good posture when performing the breathing
exercises. You can also use the extension hose in
the exercises.
Using the nasal mask
Exhale into the device. This generates more steam in the
device. If exhaling through your nose feels straining, you can exhale into the
device through your mouth and then connect the nasal mask to the extension
hose.
Then breathe freely for a while times and repeat the exhalation into the
device.Exhale heavily and steadily into the device so
that the water bubbles. The muscles in your torso should activate during the
exhalation.Inhale warm steam from the device strongly and
steadily. The muscles in your torso should activate during the
inhalation. In each exercise, perform 3 to 10 energetic,
steady repetitions. One repetition consists of one exhalation and one
inhalation. If the exercises feel fatiguing, let yourself breathe freely
without the device between the repetitions. You can increase the resistance
from
the breathing control if you like, but keep in mind that exercises with the
nasal mask will initially feel straining.
Using WellO2 menthol tablets
The WellO2 menthol tablets refresh the airways and are used as support in breathing exercises. Note! The WellO2 menthol tablets are sold separately. For more information, please contact WellO2 customer service or your nearest WellO2 reseller.
-
Drop ½ – 1 tablet into the water in the device before heating up the device.
-
Heat the water normally according to the instructions. The tablet will dissolve in the water as it heats up.
-
Perform the breathing exercises normally.
The menthol tablets can also be used with the nasal mask. -
After you have completed the breathing exercise, rinse the parts under running water, wash the basket with a dishwashing brush and mild detergent and leave the parts to dry freely in air.
Disassembling the device
Assembling the device
When assembling the parts, align the areas marked in orange in the manual.
Running the cleaning program after
use
Cleaning the inserts
The inserts can be cleaned with the cleaning program of the device. To do
this, place all the inserts (except for the basket, nasal mask and the
breathing regulator) inside the device. Fill the device with cold water to a
level between the MIN and MAX lines, attach the breathing regulator to the
lid, close the lid, and start the cleaning program.Perform this cleaning after 5 to 10 exercises or whenever
somebody else has used the device. Otherwise, rinse the parts with water after
use and leave them to dry freely in air.
You can also wash the parts in a pot. Bring water to boil in a pot, remove the
pot from the stove and place the parts in the water for five minutes. Let the
water cool down, rinse the parts and leave them to dry in free air.
Cleaning the device
Descaling
Hard water may interfere with the operation of the device if limescale
deposits build up in the water tank.
We recommend that you descale the device at least every three months or even
more frequently if the water you use is very hard and limescale deposits build
up in the device. Alternatives for descaling:
a) Vinegar:
- Fill the water tank with cold water to a level between the MIN and MAX lines. Mix in 0.5 dl of vinegar.
- Close the lid (see the photo on the right) and start the cleaning program. After the cleaning program, let stand for 1 hour.
- Empty the device.
- Rinse the device and parts carefully 5 to 6 times.
b) Citric acid or baking soda:
- Fill the water tank with cold water to a level between the MIN and MAX lines.
- Add 25 g (approx. 3 tablespoons) of citric acid or baking soda.
- Close the lid (see the photo on the right) and start the cleaning program. After the cleaning program, let stand for 1 hour.
- Empty the device.
- Rinse the device and parts carefully 5 to 6 times.
Repeat the descaling process as required.
Always rinse the water tank carefully with clean water after
descaling. Parts of the device
