Overview

IXS Trigger GoPro Low Profile
 Under Visor Screw Mount Instructions
Thank you for purchasing the GoPro Low Profile Under Visor Mount! The mounting process will take about 15 minutes if you take your time. You will need: Drill with 3/16” (5mm) bit, screw driver, pencil, masking tape and 3 mm Allen wrench. Included in the package are: Mount, M5 GoPro Interface Screw and 2 nylon mounting screws. These instructions apply for the GoPro Mini and GoPro Full Size cameras.

Note: We have designed the mount to be as low profile as possible. As a result you will not be able to use the thumb screw supplied with your GoPro. You must use the supplied M5 GoPro Interface Screw.

IXS Under Visor Screw Mount

  1. Remove GoPro M5 Interface Screw from Mount using a 3mm Allen wrench.

  2. Temporarily mount the GoPro. Tighten the M5 screw just enough so that it will hold the GoPro in place without tipping.

  3. Turn the helmet over and place the mount with GoPro on the underside of the visor. The mount is designed to match the contours of the visor. Verify the desired location. Moving the camera further back toward the helmet reduces the chance the GoPro is in the rider’s field of view but can bring the edge of the visor into the top frame of the video. Removing the visor from the picture frame can easily be done during video editing. The angle is somewhat dependent on the rider’s preferred body position when riding and will affect the GoPro’s location. We have found that it works best to have the camera lens aligned at the same angle as the visor. The front of the mount will be approximately 22 to 25mm from the edge of the visor.

  4. Remove the visor from the helmet. Place the mount on the visor and mark the two mounting screw locations. We recommend that you use masking tape and a pencil, ice pic or sharp dental instrument.

  5. To drill the holes for the nylon screws you will need a 3/16” (5mm) drill bit. We recommend drilling pilot holes first. However, it is not necessary if you don’t have a smaller bit. You may need to run the 3/16” (5mm) bit through the holes several times to provide adequate clearance for the nylon screws.

  6. Fix the mount to the bottom of the visor using the two nylon screws. You may need to ream the holes again with the drill to give you adequate clearance. Be patient to not cross thread the nylon screws. Tighten down until snug. Remember, you are screwing nylon into PETG plastic. So don’t force it and don’t over tighten. Just get them snug.

  7. Install the GoPro to the mount using the supplied M5 Interface Screw using a 3mm Allen key.

  8. That is it! You are done. Enjoy the ride and the video!!
