Quick guide
Assembly
6.1. Required tools
You will need the following tools for the assembly of the HighBed:
6.2. Unpacking the HighBed
Open the box of the HighBed and remove the individual components. Make sure
that all screws and components are within reach of you during assembly.
6.3. Preparing for assembly Before starting the assembly, place a folded blanket
under the components of the HighBed. This will prevent damage or scratches to
the HighBed or your floor covering during the subsequent assembly process.
6.4. Preparing the lying surface
Start the assembly of the HighBed with the lying surface. To do this, take the
black net (Ref. G) and insert the stainless steel rods (Ref. H|Ref. I) into
the net pockets provided at the ends of the net.
6.5. Connecting the lying surface to the tubular frame
When assembling the tubular frame andthe net, the orientation of the net plays
an important role:
Make sure that the seamed over ends of the pockets with the stainless steel
rods are on the bottom side of the net
Now insert the long side of the net with the stainless steel rod into the keder guide of the long aluminium tube branded with the TrendPet logo (Ref. K). Make sure that the logo is visible the right way around.
Now take one of the medium length aluminium tubes (Ref. J) and insert the shorter side of the net with the stainless steel rod into the keder guide of the tube for the frame.
Repeat the above steps until the four sides of the lying surface are connected with the matching tubes.
6.6. Mounting the corner brackets
After you have connected the four tubes to the lying surface, now mount the
corners.
Start with any corner. Take the lower corner piece (Ref. D) in your hand and
insert the two tubes into the component.
On the inside of the corner piece you will find a circumferential taper (see Fig. 6.6.2.), which provides the stopping point for the tube. Make sure that you push both tubes all the way to the stop (See Fig. 6.6.3.). This will ensure that the holes for the screws are correctly aligned.
As soon as both
tubes are in the lower corner piece, you can remove the upper part of the
corner piece (Ref. C) (See Fig. 6.6.4.). Once the upper half of the corner is
correctly positioned, you can fix it with the enclosed M8 countersunk screws
(Ref. A). Screw them only loosely into the thread to facilitate further
assembly.
Insert the screws from above through the holes provided. Make sure that the holes of the upper part of the corner joint and those of the tube overlap exactly.
IMPORTANT:
To make the assembly as easy as possible, make sure to screw all screws of the
tube frame only loosely (approx. 3 – 4 turns) into the thread at first. This
way, each corner still has a little play at first. This procedure makes it
easier for you to insert the two tubes into the remaining corner piece:
6.7. Mounting the last corner
To keep the lying surface wrinkle-free, the net has been sewn to fit the frame
precisely.
Therefore, the last corner is a little harder to press into the guide when
first assembled.
To make it as easy as possible, please proceed as follows:
First, place the bottom corner piece (Ref. D) in your palms (See Fig. 6.7.1.).
Now bring the corner in line with the two tapers of the open tube ends (See Fig. 6.7.2.).
Then place both thumbs on the tube frame and press the tubes firmly along the
taper into the corner component (see Fig. 6.7.3.).
When the tubes are in the lower corner component, reassemble the upper part of
the corner and fasten both with the screws (Ref. A).
6.8. Tighten screws
Once all four corners are mounted, you can tighten the screws accordingly. To
do this, place the frame on a flat surface and tighten the screws in a
crosswise pattern. This procedure ensures a safe, tilt-free and straight stand
of your HighBed.
6.9. Mounting the feet
To assemble the feet, first turn the completed tubular frame upside down and
place it on a flat surface. Now take the enclosed short tubes (Ref. E) and
insert them into the corner components with the groove facing the lying
surface.
Then fix the tube with the M4 screw (Ref. B).
Finally, place the end cap (Ref. F) on the previously mounted tube.
6.10. Finished assembly
The HighBed is now completely assembled.
Have fun with your HighBed.
Service & Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
The frame as well as the net of the HighBed can be cleaned with a damp cloth
and mild detergent.
Notice!
Cleaning the HighBed with aggressive detergents can cause damage to the
HighBed.
7.2. Maintenance Retighten screws
If necessary, the screws of the HighBed must be retightened. Check regularly
whether the HighBed is still stable and the screws are tight.
Check the net
Check occasionally whether the net of the lying surface is still intact or
shows traces of wear.
Spare parts
The HighBed has been developed over many years and the individual components
have been carefully calibrated to each other.
Proper use can only be ensured with original spare parts.
