Product Information

The F16 Thunderbirds Assembly Instructions provide guidelines for assembling the model airplane. The model comes with UFO glue for bonding foam parts and 502 glue for bonding wood, carbon fiber, and metal parts. It is important to wait for the glue to dry and solidify in each installation step before proceeding to the next step. Flame should be avoided when heating the heat- shrinkable tube on the model, and a razor blade should be used to remove the parts from the plate.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Start by assembling the fuselage internals and bonding the inner structure with 502 glue.
  2. Fix the landing-gear steel wires with m1x3 screws.
  3. Install the motor base parts.
  4. Connect the servos to a powered receiver. Bind the receiver with your transmitter to make the servo’s arms return to their neutral point. Test whether the servos are working correctly, and install the servo arms according to the position shown in the picture.
  5. Fix the servos under the plywood board.
  6. Connect the receiver to the servos. Fix the receiver with Velcro and tie the cable.
  7. Install the fuselage parts and stick the plastic reinforcing patch on the inner wall of the fuselage, ensuring that it is 2mm away from the contour edge of the side plate of the fuselage.
  8. Fix the wooden fuselage structure and motor base with glue.
  9. Connect the motor wire to the receiver and test whether the motor is working correctly.
  10. Fix the top and bottom strips of the fuselage with glue.
  11. Combine the fuselage and paste stickers.
  12. Use a knife to cut two sections 26mm in length from the 1.5mm diameter carbon fiber rod.
  13. Fix the limit ring on one end of the carbon fiber rod with glue.
  14. Insert the tail wing seat into the other end of the carbon fiber rod and fix it with glue at the central opening.
  15. Apply glue (alcohol glue) to the outer wall of one end of the shaft sleeve.
  16. Insert the rotating shaft into the reserved hole at the tail.
  17. Score through the half-cut line of the wing surface using the end of a screwdriver.
  18. Attach the wings to the fuselage.
  19. Install the vertical and horizontal tail.
  20. Install the ventral fin and use a wooden protractor to determine the installation angle.
  21. Insert the copper axle core into the center of the wood wheel core.
  22. Glue the tires.
  23. Install the wheels and bend the outer end of the steel wire with pointed nose pliers.
  24. Attach the wing tips, connect the tail push rod and steel wire clip using heat shrinkable tube, and fix them with glue.
  25. Attach the steel wire hooks to the control horns and wire clips to the servo arms.

Important notification

  1. The model is supplied with UFO and 502 glue. UFO is for bonding foam parts, and 502 is for bonding wood, carbon fiber and metal parts. 502 glue will cause serious corrosion to foam parts.
  2. Please wait for the glue to dry and solidify in each installation step before the next installation.
  3. Please avoid using a flame to heat the heat-shrinkable tube on the model. Electric iron shall be used for heating.
  4. Please use a razor blade to remove the parts from the plate. Do not tear the parts by force.

INSTALLATION

  • Connect the servos to a powered receiver. Bind the receiver with your transmitter to make the servo’s arms return to their neutral point. Test whether the servos are working correctly, and install the servo arms according to the position shown in the picture.
    Note: Please make sure that the servos have been tested and installed in strict accordance with the following picture. After assembling the model, it will be not able to adjust.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG-

  • Connect the receiver to the servos. Fix the receiver with Velcro and tie the cable.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(9\)

  • Stick the plastic reinforcing patch on the inner wall of the fuselage. Note that the patch should be 2mm away from the contour edge of the side plate of the fuselage. MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(12\)

  • Fix the wooden fuselage structure with glue.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(13\)

  • Use knife to cut the carbon fiber rod by rolling back and forth. Cut two sections of 26mm length from the 1.5mm diameter carbon fiber rod.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(19\)

  • Fix the limit ring on one end of the carbon fiber rod with glue.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(21\)

  • Put the shaft sleeve on the carbon fiber rod, do NOT glue it.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(22\)

  • Insert the tail wing seat into the other end of the carbon fiber rod and fix it with glue at the central opening.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(23\)

  • Attach the steel wire hooks to the control horns.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(40\)

  • Cut the carbon rod to the proper length and connect the wire hooks with heat-shrinkable tubes.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(42\)

  • Use the end of a screwdriver to score through the aileron half-cut line of the hatch.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(44\)

  • Use glue and stickers to fix the shape of the hatch cover. Apply continuous pressure on the side of the hatch cover before the glue solidifies.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(45\)

  • Install the magnet on the magnet seat of the hatch cover.

  • Install the hatch cover magnet base. Apply continuous pressure on the side of the hatch cover before the glue solidifies.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(47\)

  • Install the magnet base at the corresponding position of the fuselage.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(48\)

  • Fix the counterweight patch inside the nose with Velcro to adjust the center of gravity of the aircraft.MinimumRC-F16-Thunderbird-FIG- \(50\)

Maiden flight

  • The active range of all moving tails is 10mm on both sides.
  • choose grassland for maiden flight.
