Thank you for purchasing the My Weigh® iBalance® 401′ digital scale. Please read all operating instructions carefully before use. This electronic scale is a precision instrument. With normal care and proper treatment, it will provide years of reliable service. For more information please visit www.myweigh.com
Never load the scale with more than the maximum capacity. Although the iBalance® 401′ is designed to be extremely durable with extra overload protection built into the case, overloading will permanently damage it! Avoid any exposure to extreme heat or cold, your scale works better when operated at normal room temperature. Keep your scale in a clean environment. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents and/or a close proximity to other electronic equipment can all cause an adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale. Handle with care. Gently apply all items to be weighed onto tray top. Avoid shaking, dropping or otherwise shocking the scale. Scales are delicate instruments and unlike cellular phones, scales have delicate sensors that determine how much an item weighs. If you drop or shock your scale, these sensors leerthe shock and are sometimes destroyed. This happens with all digital scales. We design our scales to be as resistant to shock or drops as possible, however there is no way for us to protect 100% against load cell or sensor damage.
Failure to follow these instructions will void your warranty.
Always allow the scale to acclimate to normal room temperature for at least one hour before use. Give your scale sufficient warm up time. Usually 30-60 seconds before calibration to give the internal components a chance to stabilize.

PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USING THE BALANCE

Matter charged with static electricity can affect accuracy. Discharge all static electricity. For example, one method is to use Static-Guard spray, and spray it on both sides of the weighing platform.
Before the iniialuse, please remove the protection screw. R-install thisscrew before transport to help avoid possible damage. The balance must be in an exactly horizontal position in order to achieve accurate measurement results. In order to bring the balance nto a horizonta position, the adjustable fet are tumed either lockwise or counter-clockwise until the air bubble on the front panel isin the center of the marked dirce.
Please use an independent power outlt to avoid nterference from other electrical applances.
Don’t put any object on the platform before powering on.
When possible please allow the sale to warm up forseveral minutes before operation.
Items should always be placed on the center f the platform when being weighed.
For optimum accuracy, recalibrate before each use.

‘OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

Weighing Procedures

Press to turn on the scale.
When the power is turned on, the scale will countdown for a few seconds and “0” will appear on the display.
Select the weighing unit with key.
Press to select a weighing unit g, ct, oz , ort, lb, dr, gn,dwt, MM, tl.1, tl.T, tl.H, t, 1/8,1/4 . Once the unit has been selected, the selected unit will be displayed next to the weight value.
Start weighing Verify the reading is “0”. Place objects on the weighing platform to weigh. When the reading becomes stable, the stable indicator is displayed.

Tare
Tare can be used for eliminating the weight value of an empty container. Place an empty container on the scale and press . Then place the items to be weighed in the container.
NOTE: When all weight is removed from the weighing tray, the tared value of a container will be displayed as a negative number. Press again to return the scale to zero.

ERROR MESSAGES
When an applied load exceeds the capacity, “—–” will appear on the display. Remove excessive load immediately. The unit may return to normal operation. Remember: You can permanently damage the scale and void your warranty by overloading it! The LCD will display”ERR “if the weight placed on the platform is incorrect during calibration.
CALIBRATION
When to calibrate – calibration is RARELY required. Calibration may be required when the scale is first set up for use, or if the scale is moved to a different altitude or new location. This is necessary because the weight of a mass in one location is not necessarily the same in another location. Also, with time and use, mechanical deviations can occur.
How to calibrate: you must have an accurate 300g weight or combination of weights in order to calibrate

Press and hold (do not release) and power the scale on with , release when the LCD shows”CAL”.
Press again, it shows”000000″. This is where you input the calibration weight you are going to use to calibrate (300 grams is recommended).
Use to cycle through the 6 zeros shown on the screen and use on the selected digit to adjust selected digit. To calibrate using the recommended 300 grams, the screen must read “000300”. Once this is set, place the 300 gram calibration weight on the tray.
Wait for 3 seconds, then press to finish the calibration process.

COUNTING FUNCTION

WEIGHT RESPONSE SPEED AND DIVISION

The 401 allows you to adjust the scale reaction time and division selction.

Press and hold (do not release) and power the scale on with . Wait until the display shows”nb0 – nb7″ and release
Press again to select your response speed. (nb0: fastest, nb7 slowest) Press to confirm.
You will now enter division selection. The display will show e.g “d 0.01′: You can press to select, and press to confirm. The scale will return to normal weighing mode.

SELECTING DESIRED WEIGHING MODES

There are 15 weighing modes which can be easily enabled or disabled for ease of use, to do this:

Press and hold (do not release) and press and release the ON/OFF key. Release the key a the end of the self test
The display will show “Sln”, press to and choose “Sln” and press to confirm(Be sure to select the”Sln” section.).
Then the display will show”On x”or”OFF x”(“x”is unit);”On” means enable,”OFF” means disable .There are fifteen units preset, press to toggle through the weighing modes and choose the desired unit. Choose “On” or”OFF” by pressing and press to confirm.
Then the scale will ask you to choose the default initial weighing mode. The display will show “init X” (“X” is unit), press gi to -0- toggle and choose initial unit; press to confirm.

RANGE OF ZERO TRACKING AND ZERO DISPLAY SELECTION

Zerotracking enables high precision scales o compensate during wind fluctuations and vibaions. t s ossile o adjust the level ofassistance offered by zerotracking.Todo thisuse the following seps:

Press and hold (do not release) and power the scale on with . Wait until the display shows”0.Od, 0.5d. 1.0d. 1.5d. 2.0d 3.0d”. Then press a to select the range of zero tracking and press o- to confirm.
The display will then show “ZEr-S”or”ZEr-L” press to select the zero display range. (ZEr-S means Od and ZEN!. means ± 3.0d) Press to confirm.
To select the baud rate press , you can choose between 1200, 2400,4800 and 9600. Press to confirm.
You can choose the communication method by pressing to toggle (Co: send in succession, st: send steadily) , press to confirm. After that the scale will return to normal weighing mode.
