Supported OS
Because Windows 7 OS has past the end of support date, Grass Valley may no
longer be able to provide any fix or
improvement for issue/request confirmed in Windows 7 environment.
If Windows Defender SmartScreen prevents the installer from starting
If Windows Defender SmartScreen prevents the installer from starting, please
follow the following steps.
- Right-click the installer file then select “Properties”
- Open the “Digital Signatures” tab then make sure the file has the digital signature of “GRASS VALLEY K.K.”
- Open the “General” tab then check the [Unlock] checkbox
- Click the [Apply] button, then click the [OK] button
- Run the installer again

Fixed or improved issues
The following issues are fixed or improved in this version:
EDIUS
- Clip on the timeline can be expanded beyond the top of the timeline (SFDC00788826)
- The automatically set Chromakey settings are not retained properly until the settings dialog is opened (SFDC00790785)
- An unnecessary audio stream is inserted while clip replacement
- Decoding H.264 / H.265 clips by using a hardware decoder makes EDIUS unstable if the CPU is one of 11thGen Intel Processors and an NVIDIA GPU is installed (SFDC00801094)
- When EDIUS exports an Uncompressed RGB AVI file with a width not a multiple of 4, the resultant file cannot be played on “Movies & TV” of Windows
*EDIUS versions older than 9.55.9079 of EDIUS 9, and older than 10.21.8061 of EDIUS X cannot decode the fixed AVI files exported from 9.55.9079 properly - EDIUS crashes when a 24bit Ross Video XPression AVI file is loaded (SFDC00793788)
- The transcoded clip has incorrect footage size when transcoding certain clip with rotation info (XRE Server only) (SFDC00797213)
- AVCUltra Long-G 25 MXF file exported by EDIUS won’t be played by QuickTime Player (SFDC00798055)
- Exporting to a ProRes MOV file fails if the timeline contains XDCAM nested sequence (SFDC00797211)
- If the “Link only files that match exactly” option is enabled at Restore and Transfer Clips dialog, proxy editing clips cannot be replaced with the hi-res clips
- Loop playback can’t be stopped on effect settings dialogs of certain GPU transitions
- The timeline clip is deselected once it is nudged in Multicam mode
- EDIUS does not export P2 spanned clips properly (SFDC00802410, SFDC00803108)
- Rendered footage corrupts if rendering runs in HQ / HQX on the timeline that contains a certain nested clip (SFDC00800394)
- Adjusting effect settings cannot be previewed if the effect has already been rendered
- Decoding H.264 / H.265 clips by using a hardware decoder makes EDIUS freeze if the CPU is one of 12th Gen Intel Processors
- In rare cases, EDIUS crashes if PS, TS, MP4 or MOV files are imported repeatedly
- If a XAVC clip is exported to a Professional Disc, the disk becomes inaccessible (SFDC00805051)
- XRE Server does not render Alpha Custom Map transition properly if one of preinstalled alpha bitmap files is used (SFDC00807384)
- If an XDCAM HD 422 clip with selecting High Quality is exported to a Professional Disc, the disk becomes inaccessible (SFDC00796100)
- Proxy files generated by EDIUS X are handled as part of spanned GoPro clips wrongly
- XRE Server exports a file with off-line parts if a growing HLS clip is placed onto the timeline (SFDC00809484)
- There is a case the audio waveform keeps flashing when a time effect is applied on a timeline clip (SFDC00806784)
- EDIUS crashes when importing a file shot by GoPro HERO 10
- EDIUS does not recognize the Alpha channel of certain ProRes4444 MOV files
- “Clip that may not be referenced” warning appears when the timeline is exported by using XRE Server if the timeline contains a clip loaded from Amazon S3 (EDIUS Cloud only) (SFDC00808651)
- Export is very slow if the timeline contains a long HLS file (SFDC00810936)
- If an Amazon S3 bucket name contains ‘.’ (dot), the prefix does not appear in the S3 exporter (EDIUS Cloud only) (SFDC00808333)
- The “XRE” option on the “Print to File” dialog disappears if it is unchecked
- The “Motion Menu” option disappears if the Disc Burner window is resized
- If the timeline contains an HLS clip loaded from Amazon S3, the exported file is different from the timeline (EDIUS Cloud only) (SFDC00812239)
- If Slide B Right effect is applied to the QuickTitler clip, the objects in the clip move slightly just before the start position of the effect (SFDC00813671)
- EDIUS freezes during opening a file if partial transfer information for the file has been created with an old version of EDIUS
- EDIUS freezes if the “Snap to Event” button is clicked repeatedly while playing the Timeline (SFDC00816095)
- EDIUS crashes while picking up a color in the effect settings dialog (SFDC00816094)
- The “Picture” tab in the settings dialog of each GPUfx transition is not drawn correctly
- Timecode mode conversion between DF and PDF does not work during file export (SFDC00815044)
- EDIUS does not detect alpha channels in certain ProRes MOV files (SFDC00818980)
- MPEG2 MXF file exported by s3 MPEG2 MXF exporter or exported via FTP does not meet SMPTE RDD9 (SFDC00825699)
- Footage noise appears during playing certain MPEG4 visual clips (SFDC00819814)
Mync
- Decoding H.264 / H.265 clips by using a hardware decoder makes Mync unstable if the CPU is one of the 11th Gen Intel Processors and an NVIDIA GPU is installed (SFDC00801094)
- Mync crashes when a 24bit Ross Video XPression AVI file is loaded (SFDC00793788)
- The transcoded clip has incorrect footage size when transcoding certain clip with rotation info (XRE Server only) (SFDC00797213)

Design Limitations
Restrictions after uninstallation of QuickTime for Windows
In both EDIUS X and Mync, the following functionality will be lost if
QuickTime is uninstalled:
- Still Image File Formats: Flash Pix; Mac Pict; QuickTime Image
- Video File Formats (Import / Export): M4V or some MOV file formats
*MOV files whose video formats are general ones such as MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, ProRes, etc. are able to be imported/exported - Video File Formats (Export): 3GP (MOV); 3G2 (MOV)
- Audio File Formats: MOV (other than Linear PCM and AAC); QuickTime Audio
