Safety instructions

Please read these instructions for use carefully before using the device, in particular the safety instructions. Keep the instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you give the device to someone else, be sure to include these instructions for use.

Use the device only for its intended purpose, as directed by the user instructions.
The warranty shall be rendered null and void if the device is not used for its intended purpose.
The device is not intended for commercial or medical purposes.
Regarding the power supply
Before connecting the device to your power supply, ensure that the mains voltage specified on the type plate corresponds to that of your power supply.
Use only the power adapter supplied with the massage seat.
Only connect the plug to the socket when the device is switched off.
Keep the power cable and the device away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids. Never touch the power plug or power switch with wet or damp hands or when you are standing in water.
Do not reach for the device if it has fallen into water. Immediately remove the plug.
The device must be connected in such a way that the power plug is freely accessible.
Always switch off the device immediately after use with the buttons on the control unit and pull the power plug out of the socket.
To disconnect the device from the mains, never pull the power cable, always pull the plug.
Do not carry, pull, or twist the device by the power cable.
If the power cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized specialist dealer or a suitably qualified person.
The cable and the control unit can pose a risk of choking or tripping if used improperly.
The user is responsible for the correct placement of the electrical cables.
For Special persons
This device may be used by children over 8 years of age as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience and knowledge, providing they are supervised or have been instructed regarding the safe use of this device and understand the potential hazards involved.
Children are not allowed to play with the device.
Do not use this device to assist or replace medical applications. Chronic ailments and symptoms could get worse.
You should refrain from using the massage device or consult with your doctor if:
- You are pregnant,
- You have a pacemaker, artificial joints or electronic implants.
- You have one or more of the following diseases or conditions: Circulatory disorders, varicose veins, open wounds, bruises, cracked skin, phlebitis.
Do not use the device near eyes or other sensitive parts of the body.
If you feel pain or find the massage uncomfortable, stop using it and consult your doctor.
Be careful when using the heat function. The device has hot surfaces. Do not use the device on small children, helpless or heat-insensitive people.
In the event of unexplained pain when you are undergoing medical treatment and/or using medical devices, consult your doctor before using the massage device.

The device is not intended for commercial or medical purposes.
If you have any health concerns, talk to your doctor before using the massage cushion.

ROAD SAFETY
Safety has the highest priority in road traffic! While driving, the driver is not allowed to use the massage cushion.
Only use the massage cushion as a passenger or in a parked vehicle

Before each use, carefully inspect the cable, control unit and massage seat cover for damage. A defective device must not be put into operation.
Do not use the device if damage to the device or parts of the cable are visible, if it is not working properly, if the seat or control device has fallen down or become damp. To avoid hazards, send the device to the service centre for repair.
Do not store or keep any electrical devices in places where they might fall into a bath or a sink.
Only use the device in the correct position, i.e. as described in these operating instructions.
Do not use the device when you are sleeping or lying in bed.
Do not use the device before going to sleep. The massage has a stimulating effect.
Never use the device while driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
The maximum operating time for an application is 60 minutes. Prolonged use shortens the lifespan of the device and can lead to tension in the muscles instead of relaxation.
Using for too long can lead to overheating. Always let the device cool down before using it again.
Never place or use the device in the immediate vicinity of an electric heater or other heat source.
Never use the massage seat cover when it is folded up.
Do not leave the device unattended when it is connected to the mains.
Avoid contact of the device with pointed or sharp objects.
Do not cover the device when it is switched on. Never use it under blankets or pillows. There is a risk of fire, electric shock, and injury.
Do not use timers or external remote controls to operate the device.
Do not use the device near mist from spray cans or when using oxygen.

For maintenance and cleaning

The device is maintenance-free. However, should a malfunction occur, just check whether the power adapter is properly connected.
You may only clean the device yourself. In the event of malfunctions or damage, do not repair the device yourself, as this will void any warranty claims. Ask your specialist dealer and only have repairs carried out by authorized service centres in order to avoid hazards.
Do not immerse the device in water or other fluids. However, should liquid ever get into the device, pull out the power plug immediately.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are supervised.

Intended Use
The device is used for self-massage of certain body parts for relaxation and wellbeing. It is not intended for medical therapeutic use. It is not suitable for clinics, massage practices, wellness studios, etc. The massage device is not a medical device and cannot be used to treat pain. If you have any doubts or are unsure, ask your doctor before use.

Using the device

Commissioning

Place the massage cover 2 on a high chair or armchair (car seat) and secure it with the retaining straps on the back.
Connect the cable of the power adapter 1 or the adapter cable u to the cable on the massage mat.
Insert the plug of the power adapter 1 into the mains socket or the plug of the car adapter cable u into the cigarette lighter.
Now sit on seat 2 and familiarise yourself with the operation

Operation
The massage seat has four massage zones for targeted treatment. These are located in the main areas of tension (shoulder, back, waist and thigh area). Different types of massage with different intensity levels can be set for each massage zone. The timer switches the device off automatically after the selected time of 15, 30 or 60 minutes.

Cleaning and care

Before cleaning the device, ensure that the device is switched off and the mains plug is disconnected from the socket. Allow the device to cool down.
The massage seat can only be cleaned with a damp sponge. Never use brushes, harsh detergents, benzine, thinner, or alcohol. Rub the seat dry with a clean soft cloth.
Never immerse the device in water to clean it and make sure that no water penetrates the device.
Do not use the device again until it is completely dry.
Unwind the cable if it is twisted.
It is best to stow the device in the original packaging and keep it in a safe, clean, cool and dry place.

Disposal

This device may not be disposed of with domestic waste. All electrical or electronic devices must be taken to a local collection point or returned to the supplier for safe disposal, regardless of whether or not they contain any harmful substances. Please contact your local authority or supplier for advice on disposal.

Warranty

Warranty and repair conditions
In case of warranty please contact your specialist shop or the service centre directly. Should you have to return the device, please state the defect and enclose a copy of the purchase receipt or invoice. The following warranty conditions apply.

medisana products are guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase.
In case of a warranty claim, the purchase receipt or invoice must be provided as proof of purchase date.
Defects as a result of material or manufacturing defects will be remedied free of charge within the guarantee period.
A guarantee action does not extend the guarantee period, neither for the device nor for replaced components.
The following are excluded from the warranty:
- Any damage caused by improper handling, e.g. by non-observance of the instruction manual.
- Damage due to repair or intervention by the purchaser or unauthorised third parties.
- Transport damage that occurred on the way from the manufacturer to the consumer or when sending it to the service point.
- Spare parts that are subject to normal wear and tear.
Liability for direct or indirect consequential damages caused by the device is excluded even if the damage to the device is recognised as a guarantee case.
