Sensor cap setup
Warning
Explosion hazard. This device is not approved for use in hazardous locations.
Make sure that the area is non-hazardous before use. Do not leave the setup
cap in a hazardous location.
Caution
Personal injury hazard. The sensor contains a bright LED light source. Do not
look directly at the light while it is on.
Notice
The sensor setup cap is not waterproof.
Never put the sensor setup cap in the process. Always keep the inside of the
sensor setup cap dry.
The controller screen may show an error after the new cap is installed. On
sc100 and sc200 controllers, the error condition resolves after 1 to 2
minutes. On the sc1000 controller, remove the error at the controller.
Refer to the sensor user manual for more sensor safety information.
Make sure that the cap lot on the sensor setup cap matches the cap lot on the
sensor cap.

Make sure that the probe is connected and the power is on.

Clean the sensor.

Remove and discard the sensor cap.

Install the sensor setup cap.

Push the button on the setup cap.
The LED comes on for 45 seconds, then starts a flash sequence.
• Single flashes—10x, the setup is successful. Go to step 6.
• Double flashes—38x, remove the sensor setup cap. Repeat steps 6, 4 and 5. -
Remove the sensor setup cap. Keep the sensor setup cap in a dry storage location.

Install the new sensor cap. Validate the sensor cap code
On the controller, go to SENSOR
SETUP>[Select
Sensor]>DIAG/TEST>SENSOR INFO.
Make sure that the cap lot shown on the display and the cap lot on the cap are the same.

2 years for manufacturing faults only.
Damage from use is not covered.
