Introduction
This document presents the rules to follow in order to install the 434 MHz
receiver and repeater equipment in a vehicle and the utilisation guide of
those equipment.}
TPMS transmitters equipment, with 434 MHz format, are provided by Masternaut
customers and their installation inside the targeted vehicle tires are not
presented. Only their usage will be.
Installation instructions
Installation of the material
Standard tools to be used to install parts into a vehicle and following equipment are mandatory to install wireless 434 MHz receiver and repeater into a low or high load vehicle:
- Hose clamp of type Colson or Rilsan,
- Protective shealth of fire-resistant cable,
- Adapted connector to the power-feed into the vehicle, on battery or plug adapted to this effect, male type,
- Smartphone equipped with the dedicated application to detect MAC address with its own radio part.
Installation procedure
A repeater and a receiver of the same type must be associated together in function of the TPMS transmitters type present into the vehicle wheels, according to:
TPMS Transmitter type | Receiver | Repeater |
---|---|---|
Type | Name including | Repeater type |
LDL | 720-31110 | F1 |
Gobiz | 720-31111 | A01 |
Orange | 720-31112 | F2 |
Install and fasten the receiver near the M404/M405 unit. Link it to the RJ2
port of the Com 4*RS232 interface associated to the M404/M405 unit. Repeater
and receiver units may be distant from 10 m.
Fasten the cable that links them.
Place and fasten the repeater at the middle of the vehicle structure so as
each wheel equipped with a TPMS 434 MHz transmitter be not distant from 3 m.
Install the power-feed connector of the repeater on its power-feed cable, at
the right length, link it to the power-feed source of the vehicle (12/24v) and
fix the cable on different points of the vehicle structure.
Fasten the power-feed cable. Using the smartphone or dedicated tool, read,
identify and write the MAC address of each installed TPMS 434 MHz transmitter,
for each vehicle tire. Provide that information to the configuration Connect
service using the Masternaut installation platform. With that
information, pressure inside each vehicle tire will be supervised using a
specific configuration sent from Masternaut platform to the M404/M405 unit.
Utilisation guide
Each time a TPMS 434 MHz sends a pressure information (period could be 1, 2 or
10 minutes, depending on the probe), this one is received by the repeater. The
repeater repeats it to the destination of the receiver. The receiver sends it
again to the M404/M405 supervision unit.
The M404/M405 supervision unit filters the received information in order to
keep only the pressure information of the TPMS probes for which it has been
configured. Filtered TPMS information are sent to the Masternaut platform
which, after treatment, will present to the final customer user, useful data
for each vehicle tire.
