Manage Subnets and IP Address Page
The Manage Subnets and IP Addresses page is the primary management interface for IPAM. The page is divided into two panes:
-
The left pane provides a network tree representing the organization of your network into supernets, subnets, and groups.
-
The right pane provides one of the following three views, depending on the type of network organization selected in the organization pane.

Create a group and organize the entities
You can create groups in Orion IPAM to help organize your network. The drag
and-drop user interface on the Manage Subnets and IP Addresses page makes
it easy to create groups containing any number of other groups, supernets, and
subnets.

IP Details Page
The IPAM IP Address Details page provides all details associated with an IP address, including Mac or host name assignment history, and DNS records. If SolarWinds® Orion UDT is also installed, tracked IP addresses will also display the related UDT widgets on a second IP Address Details page.

Add or Create a Zone
A DNS zone is a contiguous portion of DNS domain namespace over which a DNS
server has authority. A DNS server can be authoritative for multiple DNS
zones. A DNS zone contains the resource records for the names within the zone.
Zone files are used if DNS data isn’t integrated with Active Directory. If DNS
and Active Directory are integrated, then DNS data can be stored in Active
Directory.

Permission Requirements for DHCP and DNS Monitoring
IPAM scans the DHCP servers in your environment for scopes and subnets and therefore needs the appropriate credential for each DHCP server it scans.

ALERTS, REPORTS, & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Manage Alerts Page
An alert is an automated notification that a network event has occurred, such as a server becoming unresponsive. The network event that triggers an alert is determined by conditions you set up when you configure your alert. You can schedule alerts to monitor your network during a specific time period and create alerts that notify different people based on how long the alert has been triggered.

Create a New Report Schedule:

Orion web-based reports. You can create schedules and assign reports to schedules
Documentation
Manage Accounts
You must add a user account for each person who needs to log in to IPAM. Each user is assigned a role, which determines the user’s permissions.
- Manage an account and show the IPAM permission:
