x-rite ColorDesigner PLUS Paint Matching Software

The ColorDesigner PLUS v2.6 – Patch 11 is a software update provided by X-Rite Inc. It includes the following changes:

• Improvements to the color-matching algorithm
• Enhanced compatibility with the latest operating systems
• Bug fixes and performance enhancements

Installation Instructions

1. Download the patch from the official website and unzip it.
2. Locate the CDPPatch.exe file and double-click on it to start the installation.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
4. Wait for the installation to finish.
5. Click OK when the installation is completed.

Note: It is recommended to close all other applications before installing the patch.

  • Streamlined the database update system further by compressing the version-independent file format.

• Patch 11 also includes everything in Patch 10:

  • Streamlined the database update system by adopting a version-independent file format.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 9:

  • Improved the speed when searching a large, networked customer file database.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 8:

  • In Manual Entry, duplicate colorants would be displayed with certain paint lines. In addition, the colorants were not listed in alphabetical order. Both errors have been corrected.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 7:

  • With an extremely large customer file database, the time for CD PLUS to read or write customer data can increase dramatically. The speed has been increased.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 6:

  • The list of colorants available in Manual Entry could differ, if an associated Electronic Formula Book and Color Matching Database contained slightly different colorants. Now Manual Entry will show the full set of colorants, regardless of whether the user selects the Electronic Formula Book or the Color Matching Database.
  • Connection pooling for a remote customer file database can be configured by IT professionals.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 5:

  • A side effect of Patch 4 was that Color Lookup took more time to complete a search.
    This has been corrected.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 4:

  • On some computer systems, CD PLUS would crash when using a MatchRite iVue instrument (model number VS205).

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 3:

  • In certain cases, CD PLUS would not launch properly after Patch 2 was installed.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 2:

  • In Color Lookup, some fandeck colors were omitted from the list. They are now included.
  • Optional ability to explicitly obtain customer consent to store their data and to receive marketing communications.
  • The connection between CD PLUS and its customer file database is now encrypted.

• Patch 11 includes everything in Patch 1:

  • When CD PLUS attempts to connect to a remote customer file database, it will try for up to 600 seconds. With the patch, it will try for 15 seconds. This connection timeout can be configured by IT professionals.
  • When the operator searches the customer file database, CD PLUS will return all records, regardless of the number. This can negatively impact performance if the database contains hundreds of thousands of records. With the patch, it will return the first 100 records and will inform the user their search results have been limited. This setting can be configured by IT professionals.

Installing the Patch

1. Download the patch and unzip it. Double click CDPPatch.exe to start the installation.
2. During the installation, you will see the following window. Wait for the installation to finish.
3. When the installation is finished, click OK.
