USES

Sirius range hood is equipped with an air purification system inside the upper chimney. This system is made up of an air quality sensor, 2 ionizers and a valve activated by a micromotor, allowing to exhaust fumes outside (ducting version) or towards charcoal filters and side ionizers (filtering version).
This range hood is equipped with a new Touch control having a S.A.M.S. button, indicating always the air quality through the color variation: White: clean air; Blue: good air; Orange: medium air; Red: bad air. By pressing the button “S.A.M.S.”, you can change the version of the hood from ducting (open valve and air exhausted outside) to filtering and purifying (closed valve; fumes go out through the side grills of the chimney; the air returns to the kitchen once filtered and purified thanks to high efficiency charcoal filters and ionizers).

The Smart Air Management System is usually set in ducting version. The valve is open and fumes go outside through a ducting system. After installation, the product works as a standard range hood, with a white colour rear-lighted touch control.

INSTALLATION

Before installing the appliance, make sure that none of the parts is damaged in any way. In case of damaged parts, contact your retailer and do not proceed with installation. Read all of the following instructions with care before installing the appliance.

  • Use an air outlet pipe of the shortest possible length.
  • Limit the number of pipe bends.
  • Use a material approved by standards and regulations.
  • Avoid any sudden changes in pipe section (recommended constant diameter: 150 mm or equal surface area).

Wall stirrup-fixing

  • By using the special drilling jig (Fig. 1X), perforate the wall according to the pattern indicated by the jig itself, and pay attention in order not to damage water pipes and electric wires. Perforation should be performed with a Ø 8 mm wall-drill. Then insert into the proper plastic reinforcements (Fig. 1A). The hood-bearing stirrup (Fig. 1S) can be applied by using the screws provided with the equipment (Fig. 1B). Now hook the cooker hood onto its bearing (Fig. 2) and then adjust horizontally and vertically the position of the appliance by acting on the special metric screws (Fig. 3V,T). After the appliance is adjusted, fix it by inserting and tightening the safety screws properly. Remove the grease filter in order to reach the appliance inner side. The grease filter is removed by following the instructions given in the maintenance section. Definitively secure the product to the wall by using the screws provided, as shown in fig. 1C. Refit the grease filter.

Warning!
Before connecting the flexible exhausting pipe to the motor, make sure the stop valve, which is on the air outlet of the motor, can swing.

Valve assembly fixing
After installing the hood, take the valve unit and place it above the ducting (fig. 4-5).
The installation height must be within the range (min-max) indicated in the technical drawing of the hood (see fig. 6-7).
Important precaution, before making the fixing holes, position the chimneys above the hood and make the grids of the upper chimney coincide in correspondence with the charcoal filters of the valve.
Fix the valve to the wall using the holes see fig. 8, by the screws (fig. 9B) and plugs (fig. 9B) supplied (fig. 9).
Connect the electric cables as showed in fig.10 (ionizer cable fig.10A, air quality sensor cable fig.10B, valve activation motor cable fig.10C, ground cable fig.10D).

Fixing the ornamental chimney

  • Before fixing the chimney, place the electric feeding equipment into the ornamental pipe and provide it with a hole for the air outlet if the appliance is used in its sucking version.
Fix the pipe-bearing stirrup (Fig. 11Y) to the wall or ceiling by using the proper reinforcements and screws in equipment. Connect the cooker-hood flange with the evacuation hole by using a proper pipe.
Now mount the inferior chimney by inserting it through the front side of the cooker hood and then turning it down until it is fixed inside (Fig. 12).

  • Particular care is due to the grease filter panel. It can be removed by pushing its special handle toward the back-side of the cooker hood and turning the filter downwards so to unfasten it from its slot (Fig. 14 e 15). To insert the filter just perform the opposite operation.
After 30 hours working the grease filter saturation is signalled by the flashing of the two central push buttons (Fig. 13D). Press the timer button to reset .
The grease filter needs cleaning by regular handwashing or in dishwashers every two months at least or depending on its use.
  • In case the appliance is used in its filtering version, the HP active coal filter (Fig. 16A) needs to be periodically replaced. The HP active coal filter is removed by first lowering the upper chimney (fig. 16) and then pulling the special plastic tab of the carbon filter releasing it from its seat (fig. 17). The HP active coal filter is mounted in the reverse operation. The HP active coal filter needs replacing depending on the use, but however every six months at least.
  • To clean the appliance itself tepid water and neutral detergent are recommended, while abrasive products should be avoided. For steel appliances specialized detergents are recommended (please follow the instructions indicated o the product itself to obtain the desired results).
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its sevice agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

* Substitution of the LED bar:
Using an appropriate tool, remove the LED bar from its seat (refer to Fig. 18), disconnect it electronically using the appropriate connector then substitute it with a LED bar with same characteristics.
