Getting Started with Indigenius Keyboard
To get started with your new keyboard, remove it from the packaging and turn
it on by shifting the power button located on the top right corner of the
keyboard.
Connecting to Your Device
The keyboard can connect to your device in two ways: via Bluetooth USB jack or
USB cable. To connect simply plug the USB jack or cable into your device’s USB
port and the keyboard will automatically connect.

Indigenius Web Software
Indigenius Web Software is an application that supports the usage of your new
keyboard. After installation, please update your software to the newest
version on
www.myindigenius.com/hardware
Indigenius Web Software permits the usage of your keyboard for translation and
narration services. Also, if you are a Microsoft Word and PowerPoint user,
type special characters easily with your keyboard.
The keyboard narration (speech-to-text) feature that allows you to dictate
your text in available languages in your Indigenius Web Software or Microsoft
Word.
To quickly activate this feature, press the button on the bottom right,
between the right alt key and the left arrow. This key has an green indicator,
when the indicator is turned on and the user has a good Internet connection,
narration features are permitted whiletyping is disabled.
Typing with Indigenius Keyboard
The keyboard supports a wide range of languages, including English, Dutch,
French, German, Hausa, Igbo, Italian, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Swahili,
Xhosa, Yoruba, Zulu, and many more.
To switch system languages on your device, click the time on the bottom right
or check your computer settings.
Typing Special Characters
The keyboard includes two African keys for typing diacritics and special
characters.
The first key is located on the bottom, second from left of the keyboard,
right next to the Ctrl key. It activates the superscript keys on the top right
of the 26 QWERTY alphabets. Hold this key to activate superscripts.
The second button located in the top right corner of the keyboard. This key
has a green indicator. It serves as a permanent diacritic activator.
To type standard characters, simply type any of the key labeled in white or
black ink. To type special characters which are located on the alphabet keys,
hold the Africa button (located at the bottom, second left) and click any
preferred key.
For example, to click the c key, hold the ci) key and click C.
Diacritic keys are located on Fl, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6 and -. To type special
characters using diacritics, follow these steps:
Click the top right key (green indicator comes on), click the native alphabet
to be combined and click the preferred diacritic among Fl , F2, F3, F4, F5, F6
and -.
For example, to type Ō, click the key, click 0 and click Fb.
To type È, click the key, click E and click F3.
Charging
To charge your keyboard, simply connect the accompanying USB cable to your
device’s USB port (top right) and to a power outlet. The keyboard will
automatically begin charging. A full charge takes approximately two hours and
will provide up to 80 hours of continuous use.
Turning Off
To turn off your keyboard, slide the power button located on the top of the
keyboard for. The keyboard will power off.
Precautions
- Do not use or store the device in dusty or dirty areas
- Do not store device in high temperatures. High temperatures may damage the device or battery
- Do not store the device in cold temperature, moisture can form inside the device and damage it
- Do not drop, knock, or shake the device. Rough handling can damage break it For optimal performance, switch the device off from time to time
- Keep device away from magnets or magnetic fields
- Switch device off in potentially explosive environments, such as near gas pumps. Sparks may cause an explosion or fire resulting in injury or death Keep away from water
Maintenance
When cleaning the instrument, use a soft cloth. Do not use paint thinners, solvents, alcohol, cleaning fluids, or chemical-impregnated wiping cloths.
