Product Usage Instructions

Read all safety information and instructions described in the manual.
Ensure the BSS case is used for transmission and recording of live streams under professional use.
Operate the case in dry, clean, and low-dust environments.
Store the case during operation with the lid open.
If using the built-in 12 V battery connection, follow the specific notes for battery operation.
For installing an ATEM Mini, refer to the installation instructions provided.
When attaching the case to a 3/8 mount or tripod, ensure proper attachment according to the provided boundary conditions.
In case of service or spare parts requests, use the service address given on the back of the case.
Have the 10-digit serial number of the BSS case ready when contacting the service address.

Safety instructions

Read all safety information and instructions described in this manual. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire or serious injury.

Only operate the case lying down with the lid open and taking into account the permissible environmental conditions.
Do not operate the BSS case in the rain or under the influence of water and vapors or condensing moisture.
Do not operate the case in explosive atmospheres where flammable liquids, gases or dust are present. Switching electrical loads can cause sparks, which can ignite the dust or vapors.
Do not open the screwed covers or flaps.
Keep the case dry and clean.
Do not lean on the ATEM Mini cover plate in the case.
Avoid impact or excessive pressure on the case and its components.
Always disconnect the case from the power supply after use by first de-energizing the components using the on/off switch and then pulling out the mains plug.
Only use connection devices that are compatible with the connection values of the ATEM Mini, ATEM Mini Extreme, and the monitors used. For further information, please refer to the operating instructions of the respective manufacturers.
If foreign bodies/liquids should have penetrated through the ventilation openings of the BSS case, switch off the case at the main switch, then immediately disconnect the mains plug and, where optionally available, the battery connection plug, and then contact our service department.
To avoid scratches, place a soft, thin cloth between the screen and ATEM Mini during storage and transport.
Store the BSS case in a dry and clean environment.
Only have the case repaired by qualified specialists and only with original spare parts.
Stop using the case if the power switch is defective, the fan is not working, or any other built-in component or part is defective.

Battery operation

Notes for the operation of a case with a built-in 12 V battery connection (option)

Never connect 230 V mains voltage to the battery connection. There is a danger to life!
Do not connect any other low voltages than the permissible 12 V-14.4V DC voltage to the battery connection.
Only 12-14.4V batteries/rechargeable batteries that allow a permissible continuous load of at least 5A are suitable as voltage sources. Do not connect batteries that do not meet these requirements. There is a risk of overheating, short circuits and fire.
Voltages greater than 14.4 V can damage or destroy the control electronics or the installed components in the BSS case.
If 5 A or more are consumed via the connected devices, the fuse on the front panel may blow. Switch off the main switch on the BSS case and disconnect non-essential loads (e.g., at the USB charging port) from the power supply in this case. Likewise, the fuse may blow in case of overvoltage (≥17.3V) to protect the connected devices. In this case, check the voltage source for the correct voltage value (12-14.4V) before reinserting the fuse.
Use only the fuse with the specified technical values. Otherwise, it may cause damage or destruction of the control electronics or the connected consumers.
Glass tube fuse 5×20 mm; 5,0 A, tripping characteristic: Fast. Further information on fuse replacement can be found in the operating instructions.
Only use the optionally available battery connection cables as these are designed for the maximum permissible current load of 5 A.
Immediately disconnect the battery from the connection and switch off the main switch on the case if non-operational reactions are observed.

Installing an ATEM Mini

Before installing an ATEM Mini, always disconnect the case from the power supply by first de-energizing the components using the on/off switch and then unplug- ging the mains plug.
Do not reach into the internal wiring or electronics. There is a risk of electric shock.
As long as no ATEM Mini or ATEM Mini Extreme is installed in the case, there is a risk of tipping over due to the changed center of gravity. Therefore, when opening the cover, hold the case in a horizontal position with the help of a second person until the installation is complete.
Observe the installation instructions in the operating instructions.

Attachment to the 3/8″ mount

The following boundary conditions apply to the attachment to tripods etc.:

Use of a UNC 3/8″ thread (UNC = inch standard thread) for the connection to the case.
The minimum screw-in depth is 15mm, and the maximum tightening torque (with lock nut) is 20Nm.
The maximum screw-in depth is limited by the thread depth. Do not counter the fastening screw against the thread base. Use lock nut!
The maximum load values of the case, when assembled, can be taken from the sketch below. These are 75 N from the vertical at the front and side edges

Proper Use

The BSS case is used for transmission and recording of live streams under professional use of the available connection possibilities of a built-in ATEM Mini as well as ATEM Mini Extreme in dry, clean and low-dust environments. Storage during operation is exclusively lying with the lid open.
