Overview

Your new bluetooth ITE (In-The-Ear) hearing aids are meant to help you hear clearly again, without overwhelming background noise or feedback. The audio on them is crystal clear, whether you’re using them to enhance the sounds around you, or to listen to your favorite songs and TV shows. You can even take calls on them, with your voice being extremely clear for the person on the other end. On top of that, you’re able to adjust the volume to exactly what you need (up to 80 dB) at the touch of a button.

IMPORTANT: While our hearing aids are very easy to use, we strongly suggest you read the entire manual before using them for the first time. We’ve included many tips & tricks to make sure your experience with your new hearing aids is nothing but the best!

Proper Care & Conditions

Like most electronics, our hearing aids have an optimal range in which they operate best. We recommend wearing our hearing aids in temperatures no colder than – 4F/-20C and no warmer than 122F/50C to ensure proper function.

How To Get Started

Getting started with our hearing aids is really quick & easy, with you being able to use them for the first time in only 6 steps. We’ll go into more detail later on in this manual along with some examples.

  1. Charge your hearing aids – even though our hearing aids are sent out pre-charged, please put them on charge for 2 and a half hours before using them for the first time. Don’t worry about overcharging as they have built-in protection against it.
  2. Practice inserting your hearing aids – out of all our available models, your new ITE bluetooth hearing aids are the easiest to insert. All you have to do is gently place them into your ears and they’ll stay in place all day long – comfortably and securely. When inserting your hearing aids for the first time, it’s important to start off with the smallest dome we’ve provided.
  3. Adjust the volume – once you’ve practiced inserting your new hearing aids a couple times, please press the volume button on the back until you hear “volume minimum”. We’ll be able to increase the volume later, but for now it’s best to continue on with the lowest volume setting.
  4. Try all sizes of ear domes – it’s very important to try all of the ear domes we’ve sent you, choosing the largest one that fits your ears comfortably. This will make sure you’re comfy, while keeping your hearing aids in securely and making sure there’s no feedback.
  5. Try your hearing aids out – try them out and enjoy them! After you’re comfortable with them, make sure to adjust the volume to exactly what you need, but no more – too high of a volume can produce feedback & even hurt your ears. If you’re experiencing any issues, there are a ton of troubleshooting steps at the end of this manual!
  6. Connect to your devices with Bluetooth 5.3 – now that you’ve had the chance to use your new hearing aids for a couple hours, connect them to your phone, tablet or TV and enjoy listening to music, your favorite TV show or talking to friends over the phone. Now that you know the 6 steps to using our hearing aids, let’s go into each step with more detail.

Charging Your Hearing Aids

Along with your new bluetooth ITE hearing aids, we’ve sent you a charging case as well as a charging cable, which connects to the backof the case. To charge your hearing aids, make sure the cable is plugged into your case, then plug the other end of the cable into a wall charging cube or your computer. Next, place both hearing aids in the charging case and a number should illuminate on the screen within the charging case. The number shown is the battery percentage level on your hearing aids, and once it reaches 100, they’re ready to use! Please note that once you remove your hearing aids from the case, they’re automatically turned on. Once placed back into the case, they’re automatically turned off.

One of the best features of our hearing aids is that you can charge them overnight, as there is built-in overcharging protection. If you’d like to charge them during the day though, that’s completely fine as well! The batteries take two and a half hours to charge fully, and last for 10 hours.

IMPORTANT : Before using your hearing aids for the first time, we recommend you charge them fully.
IMPORTANT: Each hearing aid has a letter at the bottom of it (either “L” for left or “R” for right). Please make sure you place each hearing aid in the correct charging socket. If done correctly, a green “L” and “R” will pop up on the digital screen.

Inserting Your Hearing Aids

IMPORTANT: This is by far the most important part of our user manual. Please make sure to pay extra close attention to the following steps. The reason this part of the manual is so important is because if vou don’t know how to insert vour hearing aids correctly, they’ll never fit properly, it’ll be hard to get them out and there’s a good chance they’ll squeal or produce other annoying feedback.

One more thing to note before we move forward is that wearing hearing aids is a learning process. Just like riding a bike, day 1 might be a bit iffy, and day 2 might be as well. But as time goes by, you’ll absolutely fall in love with your new hearing aids! When inserting your hearing aids for the first time, please make sure the smallest-sized ear dome is attached. If you’re having trouble putting the smallest ear domes on, please see the “Replacing The Ear Domes” section. Then, to place your hearing aid into your ear, you’ll want to hold it between your thumb and index finger, making sure not to touch the microphone. Next, insert the hearing aid into your ear canal using your thumb and index finger. You’ll most likely notice your hearing aid isn’t fully in yet, and ifso, please use your thumb or index finger to push it in all the way as shown in the picture below, furthest to the right. Make sure to stop immediately if anything hurts while inserting your hearing aids.

We usually recommend inserting our hearing aids in the same way pictured below and to the right. With that being said though, it’s completely fine to wear them in the same way pictured below and to the left if that’s more comfortable for you!

Adjusting The Volume
Our hearing aids offer adjustable hearing support up to 80 dB at the push of a button. To adjust the volume, all you have to do is quickly press or “tap” on the back of either hearing aid. Once you reach the minimum or maximum volume, you’ll hear “volume minimum” or “volume maximum”

Since it’s common to have varying levels of hearing loss in either ear, we’ve made it possible for you to adjust each hearing aid individually! So please make sure to adjust the volume on both hearing aids to exactly what you need.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the volume is turned down when using your hearing aids for the first time. You’ll be able to adjust the volume up to exactly what you need later, but for now it’s best to practice with the lowest possible volume.

Choosing Your Ear Dome Size
Choosing which ear dome fits you best is the second most important part of this user manual. After practicing how to insert your hearing aids, please make sure to try all 3 sizes of our ear domes. The reason we ask you to go through all 3 sizes of our ear domes is because getting a perfect in-ear fit is extremely important.

Without the proper sized ear dome on your hearing aid, there’s a high chance you’ll find them uncomfortable or experience feedback, and the sound quality won’t be all that good either.. they might even fall out!

So please make sure to try all 3 sizes of ear domes, while using the following criteria to figure out what’s best for you:

  • Are they comfy?
  • Do they allow you to fully insert your hearing aids?
  • Do they keep your hearing aids in securely?
  • Is the fit snug enough to make sure you won’t experience any feedback, while still being comfy?

IMPORTANT: When trying all 3 sizes of ear domes for the first time, please make sure the volume is on it’s lowest setting.

Replacing The Ear Domes
To remove the ear dome on your hearing aid, hold the hearing aid with one hand and and pinch the ear dome with the other while pulling them apart.

Then, to attach a new dome, all you have to do is press the end of your hearing aid into the back of the ear dome!

If you’re having trouble replacing your ear domes, please give us a call at +1 437-600-1584 or email us at [email protected] and we’ll be more than happy to help!

Using Your Hearing Aids For The First Time
It’s time to enjoy hearing clearly again! Now is also the best time to adjust the volume up to where you’re able to hear clearly, but no higher than that.

We say this because once you find a volume level that lets you hear clearly, anything above that can produce feedback and even hurt your ears! Also, if this is your first time using hearing aids, there’s a good chance it’ll take a couple hours (Or days) for you to get used to wearing them. In terms of having something constantly in your ears (don’t worry – you’ll forget they’re even there soon enough) as well as hearing things you haven’t heard in vears. Our best advice is to wear them onlv a couple hours for the first day or two and then beyond that, make sure to wear them as consistently as you can so that your body can fully adjust – letting you hear perfectly again!

Getting Used To Your Hearing Aids
No matter how long or severely you’ve been experiencing hearing loss, your body will have to adjust to hearing aids. Almost as if you were learning to walk all over again, with your ears not being able to hear properly for months or even years now, their new “ability” to hear clearly again with our hearing aids will take some time to get used to. It can up to 4 months for your body to get fully used to hearing aids, but for most people it’s actually quite a bit quicker. With some being fully adjusted in only a couple weeks.

With that being said, you can still wear and benefit from your hearing aids during the “adjustment phase”, with you being able to hear better and better as time goes by! Before we get into the 4 phases though, the most important part is listening to your body. Make sure to only progress onto the next phase once you feel ready!

If you need any help deciding, please feel free to contact us :

  • Phase 1: Wear your hearing aids for only 1-2 hours per dav in a relatively guiet environment to familiarize and distinguish various sounds. Once you feel like your body has adjusted, move onto phase 2.
  • Phase 2: Wear your hearing aids for 4-8 hours per day in a slightly louder, yet still quiet environment. We recommend going for a walk in a quieter part of your neighbourhood for 20 or so minutes each day during this phase. Once you feel like your body has adjusted, move onto phase 3.
  • Phase 3: Wear your hearing aids as long as you’d like. Enjoy conversation with friends and family, while trying out some slightly louder environmentsas well. Make sure not to wear your hearing aids anywhere with excessive noise though. Once you feel like your body has adjusted, move onto phase 4.
  • Phase 4: Wear your hearing aids as long as you’d like, wherever you’d like! – Even in loud environments! Your body has fully adjusted to it’s new regained hearing abilities and you’re free to enjoy hearing all the world’s beautiful sounds 🙂

Connecting And Using Bluetooth One of the best features of our bluetooth ITE hearing aids is that you’re able to listen to your favorite music, TV shows, and movies. You can even take calls, with an extremely clear microphone that lets the person on the other end hear you extremely clearly. Something our customers have really enjoyed is that no app is needed. To connect your hearing aids to your phone or any other device, all you have to do is turn bluetooth on and then connect to “CH-F331” Once your hearing aids are connected, they’ll continue to enhance all sounds around you until you start playing music or adding any other input. At that point, they’ll automatically switch over to playing whatever audio you’d like to listen to. Once you’re finished, they’ll automatically switch back.

One thing to note is that while you’re connected to your phone, tablet or TV, you’ll have to adjust the volume on that device, rather than on your hearing aids themselves. To accept calls on your hearing aids, quickly press or “tap” the volume button on either hearing aid. Once you’d like to hang up, quickly press or “tap” the volume button on either hearing aid once again. To decline an incoming call, press and hold the volume button on either hearing aid. You can also make outbound calls on your phone, and as long as your hearing aids are connected, calls will automatically go through them. To adjust the volume while on a call, please use the volume adjustment buttons on your phone.

Adjusting The Listening Modes

Our hearing aids come with 4 different listening modes, which tailor the sound experience to your specific environment. There is a general mode, indoor mode, outdoor mode and movie/TV mode. All of which can be selected by pressing and holding the button on the back of your hearing aids. Please keep in mind while the volume on our hearing aids is individually adjustable, the listening modes are not. So you may press and hold either the left or right hearing aid and the listening mode will change for both.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Below are all of the most common & easily fixable issues you may experience with our hearing aids, along with the solutions:

Whistling/Squealing : If you’re experiencing whistling, squealing or any other feedback, here are all the common causes:

  • The volume is too loud – y ou should only ever turn the volume up to a point where you’re able to hear clearly again. If you continue to turn the volume up after this point, you’ll most likely experience feedback and your body will have a harder time adjusting to your hearing aids.
    • Cracks in your hearing aid – contact us for a replacement under warranty at no cost to you.
    • Your hands or hair are too close to your hearing aid – sometimes having objects near your hearing aids will cause audio feedback. Move them away and the whistling should be gone. Improper ear dome size – if you’re hearing whistling, move up a size or two until it stops.
    • Too much earwax buildup – with too much earwax in either your ear or on the hearing aid, you’ll experience whistling. To fix this, visit your doctor to get your ears properly cleaned and clean the end of your hearing aids.
  • No sound: If you aren’t getting any support from our hearing aids, here are all the common causes:
    • The volume is too low – please switch through all volume levels using the volume button on both hearing aids as they adjust individually.
    • Low battery – the electronics in our hearing aids require a minimum voltage to operate properly. Make sure to charge your hearing aids for 2 and a half hours, or until they reach l 00 percent on the digital screen before using them.
    • Dirt blocking the earplug or tube – please clean out the end of your hearing aids.
  • Distortion or faint sounds: If you’re hearing distortion or everything sounds slightly muffled/faint, here are all the common causes:
    • Low battery – when the battery is low, your hearing aid isn’t able to function properly resulting in distortion or low hearing support. Make sure your hearing aids are fully charged before use.
    • Your hearing aids are wet – make sure to turn them off and let them dry in a bag of rice overnight in the event they get wet. Any sort of liquids or moisture could seriously damage your hearing aids.
    • Your hearing aids are dirty – please clean out the end of your hearing aids.
  • Intermittent sound and/or clicking sounds: If your hearing aids are cutting in and out, here are all the common causes:
    • Low battery – make sure your hearing aids are fully charged before use.
  • They don’t fit: If your hearing aids aren’t fitting properly, here are all the common causes:
    • Your ear domes are too large – please move down a size or two until you’re able to correctly insert your hearing aids.
  • They won’t stay in my ears: If your hearing aids are falling out of your ears when chewing, talking or walking, here are all the common causes:
    • Your ear domes are too small or too large – please move up or down a size or two until your hearing aids stay firmly in your ear

Proper Care & Maintenance

To keep your hearing aids working perfectly for years to come, some maintenance is required. But, luckily it’s not all that much! Once a week (or more – up to you!) you’ll want to clean your hearing aids with a soft, dry cloth to remove any ear wax or other dirt/debris. Along with wiping down your hearing aids, you’ll want to remove and clean the ear dome in warm, soapy water. And while the ear dome is off, please make sure to clean the end of your hearing aids with a soft, dry cloth.

IMPORTANT : Make sure to never use water when cleaning the hearing aid itself as liquids can seriously damage the electronics within. To keep your hearing aids working perfectly for years to come, some maintenance is required. But, luckily it’s not all that much!
