velleman PEM7DW Mini Wireless Infrared Security System
Product Information
The PEM7DW is a compact entry and approach warning system designed for use in shops, reception areas, private homes, and other similar environments. It consists of a transmitting and receiving unit that uses an invisible, modulated beam of IR light to provide protection. The device utilizes a LED to produce the beam, which offers a longer lifespan and is more resistant to surge and vibration damage compared to a tungsten filament lamp. The receiver is sensitive to the frequency of the modulated light in the beam. The system triggers an audible warning when the beam is interrupted by a person walking through it.

bringing this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, don’t
install or use it and contact your dealer.
The PEM7DW is a compact entry and approach warning system for use in shops,
reception areas, private homes, etc. The device consists of a transmitting and
receiving unit that transmits an invisible, modulated beam of IR light across
e.g. a doorway, onto a prismatic reflector mounted across from the
transmitter. This reflects the beam back to the receiver to complete the
protection circuit. The beam is interrupted when a person walks through it,
causing the alarm to trigger and sound an audible warning. The beam is
produced by a LED, which has a much greater lifespan and is less susceptible
to surge and vibration damage than a tungsten filament lamp. The receiver is
only sensitive to the frequency of the modulated light in the beam.
Notes
It is recommended to use this device indoors. Rain drops and condensation
may influence its operation.
