Product Information

The Cetus X FPV Kit (Betaflight Firmware Version) is a quadcopter drone designed for FPV (First Person View) flight. It features the ExpressLRS system and is powered by the popular open-source firmware Betaflight. The kit includes a Cetus X quadcopter with Betaflight firmware, M04 VTX with a maximum power of 400mW, and OSD (On-Screen Display) for displaying flight information.

The Cetus X FPV Kit is suitable for both novice and skillful pilots. It offers different flight modes to cater to various skill levels:

  1. Angle Mode: In this mode, the quadcopter maintains a horizontal attitude when the direction joystick is moved to the center. Novice pilots can easily control the flight altitude by operating the throttle joystick. The drone keeps its levelled position once the pilot lets go of the stick.
  2. Horizon Mode: Similar to Angle mode, the quadcopter maintains a horizontal attitude when the direction joystick is moved to the center. However, in Horizon mode, skilled pilots can perform flips and rolls when the stick is at full deflection.
  3. Air Mode: In Air mode, the altitude and attitude of the quadcopter are manually controlled by the pilot. The quadcopter maintains its current attitude when the direction joystick is moved to the center. This mode allows for acrobatic flight but requires practice and skill.
  4. Turtle Mode: If the quadcopter crashes into the ground and flips over, Turtle mode can be activated to reverse the motor and turn the quadcopter back to the front.

The Cetus X FPV Kit also supports VTX frequency and power switching. However, frequency and output power value changes can only be made through the OSD Menu of Betaflight firmware.

For more information about accessing and operating the OSD menu, please refer to the User Manual.

Product Usage Instructions

To start flying in Angle Mode:

  • Ensure the quadcopter is powered on and the transmitter is connected.
  • Control the flight altitude by operating the throttle joystick.
  • Maintain a horizontal attitude by moving the direction joystick to the center.

To switch to Horizon Mode:

  • Ensure the quadcopter is in Angle Mode.
  • Move the direction joystick to the center.
  • Perform flips and rolls by moving the joystick to full deflection.

To switch to Air Mode:

  • Ensure the quadcopter is in Angle or Horizon Mode.
  • Move the direction joystick to the center.
  • Manually control the altitude and attitude of the quadcopter.

To activate Turtle Mode:

  • If the quadcopter crashes and flips over, locate the CRASH FLIP SWITCH option in the OSD.
  • Activate Turtle mode to reverse the motor and turn the quadcopter back to the front.

To switch VTX frequency and power:

  • Access the OSD Menu of Betaflight firmware.
  • Navigate to FEATURES->VTX->BANDFEATURES->VTX->CHAN to switch the frequency channel.
  • Navigate to FEATURES->VTX->POWER to switch the power level.
  • Remember to switch SAVE on the VTX page to make the changes effective.

For more detailed instructions and information, please refer to the User Manual.

Angle Mode

ANGL is displayed in the OSD. Pilot needs to control the flight altitude by operating the throttle joystick. The quadcopter will maintain a horizontal attitude when the direction joystick is moved to the center. The operation is relatively simple. Novice pilot can achieve simple flight with a little practice because the drone keeps its levelled position once the pilot lets go of the stick.

Horizon Mode

HOR is displayed in the OSD. Pilot needs to control the flight altitude by operating the throttle joystick. The quadcopter will maintain a horizontal attitude when the direction joystick is moved to the center. Unlike Angle mode, you can do flips and rolls when the stick is at full deflection in Horizon mode. This mode features difficult operations and is suitable for skillful pilot.

Air Mode

Air is displayed in the OSD. The altitude and attitude of the quadcopter are manually controlled by pilot. The quadcopter will maintain its current attitude when the direction joystick is moved to the center. Acrobatic flight is possible. The operation is difficult and pilot needs a lot of practice.

VTX Frequency and Power Switching

The Cetus X (Betaflight Version) uses M04 VTX with a maximum power of 400mW. Changing frequency and output power value through buttons is not supported by this VTX, which requires OSD Menu of Betaflight firmware.

Frequency Switching Channel:

  • FEATURES->VTX->BAND、FEATURES->VTX->CHAN
  • Power Switching Channel: FEATURES->VTX->POWER
