Our product meets the following legal national and European requirements:
CE Certificate: The CE mark (an acronym for the French “Conformite Europeenne”) confirms that a product complies with EU health, safety and environmental requirements that guarantee consumer safety.
RoHS compliant: The RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), is an EU directive aimed at restricting the use of certain hazardous. substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Each EU member state must pass its own law to implement this directive. When a product is RoHS certified, it confirms that the proportion of hazardous or difficult-to- removesubstances is limited to the maximum allowed.
NEN-EN 14604/C1: Features the standard for smoke alarm devices
der Grüne Punkt: the logo is proof that the producer has paid for the disposal of the packaging at the waste stage in the production country, usually Germany.
Triman: The logo indicates whether a packaging is (partly) recyclable. It also clarifies which part of the packaging can be recycled and how this material should be sorted.
Follow the steps below in order to successfully install the Smoke detector. Some steps are optional.

INTENDED USE

The Fiux Smoke Alarm consists of a smoke detector that gives you a warning via sound in threatening situations. There are no other applications for this product.
Only use the Smoke detector as described in these instructions. Any other use is considered inappropriate and may lead to personal injury or property damage. Fiux is not liable for damage or injury resulting from incorrect or careless use.
Do not leave packaging material and accessories lying around unattended. They can become dangerous play material for children. Do not dispose of the packaging material until the smoke detector is installed and working.
WARNING:
Plastic bags & foils.
Keep plastic bags and films away from babies and children to prevent the danger of suffocation!
Thin films can stick to the nose and mouth and obstruct breathing.
SMALL PARTS.
Contains small parts (plugs + screws), not suitable for children under 3 years or persons who tend to put non-edible objects in the mouth. Small parts can be swallowed or become stuck in the windpipe and pose a choking hazard. As a general guideline, the risk of choking is presented by small parts with a diameter of less than 31 mm and a length of 57 mm.

POWER ON

The product must be activated before use. Press the centre button for 10 seconds until the red LED indicator flashes and you hear a beep.

TESTING THE SMOKE DETECTOR

Press and hold the center button on the Smoke detector to test the alarm. The alarm gets louder with every beep. The final beep, after 9 seconds, has the same volume as the alarm in case of an emergency.

  1. DO NOT test the alarm with an open flame. This may damage the smoke alarm or ignite combustible materials and cause a structural fire.
  2. DO NOT stand close to the smoke when the alarm sounds. Exposure at a short distance may damage your hearing, so move to the side or backwards when testing

MOUNTING THE SMOKE DETECTOR

Follow these steps to mount your Smoke Detector

4.1. LOCATION ADVICE
Install multiple Smoke Detectors in your home to ensure maximum protection.
Before installing this device, also check your local legislation.Fiux

Required by law in most countries: At least one on every floor where people
Highly recommended: All bedrooms, hallways and remote rooms
Extra protection: Living room, attic and basement
DO NOT place the Smoke Detector here:
Next to air vents, fans and central heating
Dusty, dirty areas reas with insects and easily polluted places (garage)
Places with difficult access (making it difficult to operate the test function)
 Next to doors or windows
Close to a fireplace or a wood-burning stove
Areas with high humidity or cooking fumes (Kitchens, bathrooms)

4.2. PLACEMENT ADVICE

  1. In the middle of the ceiling (if that is not possible, install it at least 30cm away from corners)
  2. If the length of the room or hall is more than 9m long, multiple Smoke
  3. Detectors should be installed If the wall or ceiling is slanted, the Smoke Detector needs to be installed at least 50cm away from the highest wall or ceiling point in the room
  4. If the Smoke Detector is installed on the wall, it should be at least 10cm away from the ceiling.

Before installing the Smoke Detector, choose between three mounting options. We do not recommend using option 2 if the surface has a rough texture. For ease of maintenance, we recommend using option 1.

MAINTENANCE

Clean the Smoke detector at least once a month with a vacuum cleaner with the brush nozzle.
While cleaning the device, also check the alarm function, like described in step 3.

BEEPS AND LED FLASHES

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Solution
1. The Smoke Detector does not go off when testing Make sure the device is

turned on (step 1). Now press and hold the center button again to test. If this does not work, contact our customer service.
2. The Smoke Detector beeps every 40 seconds| 1. Clean the device (according to step 5)
2. If the beeping continues, the device is malfunctioning. Replace the device or contact our customer service.

ALARM GOES OFF
When the alarm of the Smoke Detector goes off, first make sure that you know the cause. In case of a fire, get yourself and others safely outside and call the emergency number. If you have made sure that you, and other members of the household are not in danger, turn off the alarm.

SILENCE THE ALARM

To turn off the alarm, press on the center button on the device. The alarm of the smoke detector will become inactive for 10 minutes. The red LED now flashes once every 8 seconds. After 10 minutes, the smoke detectors resets. If the device still detects smoke after 10 minutes, the alarm will go off again.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure you have read and understood the manual before installing and using this product. Only use this product in the ways described in this manual.
Replace the device 10 years after the manufacturing date. This date can be found on the sticker on the product.
The device is only suitable for residential use indoors.
If the product is defective, do not attempt to repair the device but replace the device with a new one.
Do NOT paint over or cover the product.
All electronic devices, including this Smoke Detector, have a chance of failing. There is a chance that, in case of a fire, the device will not warn you because the alarm did not go off, or because the alarm did not go off in time. Make sure you test your Smoke  Detector regularly to maximize  the chance of being alerted in time by the device.

If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper use contained in this manual, we will not accept liability for any resulting personal injury or  property damage. In such cases, the warranty will become void. Please also note the warnings or safety instructions in the individual sections of this manual.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Electrical appliances and batteries can expose people, especially children, to dangers that can cause both serious injury and death. The use of electrical appliances and batteries can pose hazards including, but not limited to, injury, fire, electric shock and damage to the electrical system. These safety instructions are intended to give you the information you need to use the Fiux Smoke detector and to prevent such dangers. Common sense and respect for the device will help reduce the risk of injury.

GENERAL DEVICE SAFETY

  1. Do not use the Smoke detector for any purpose other than that for which it is intended (see the “EXPERIENCE USE” chapter).
  2. The Smoke detector is designed and intended for private use only and is not suitable for commercial purposes.
  3. The Smoke detector is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors.
  4. Handle the device with care. Shocks, bumps or a fall, even from a small height, can damage the device.
  5. Always mount the Smoke detector on a hard and level surface.
  6. The device must be installed and mounted correctly and safely. Follow the instructions in order to avoid possible damage/injury.
  7. Never use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer. They may pose a danger to the user and damage the device.
  8. Do not insert any objects into any opening.
  9. Do not exert excessive force when using the button on the Smoke indicator.

If it is no longer possible to use the Smoke detector safely, decommission it and protect it from unintentional operation. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the device:

is visibly damaged,
no longer works properly,
has been stored for long periods of time in poor environmental conditions or
is exposed to severe transport-related loads.

PEOPLE & USE
The smoke detector is not a toy. Keep and store the device out of reach of small children
The smoke Alarm may be used and installed by children aged 16 and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the resulting dangers.
ELECTRONICS
You must not reconstruct, repair or dismantle the Smoke Alarm. This may damage the device.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs may only be carried out by an expert or in a qualified shop.
Check the device for damage from time to time. Never use the device if it shows signs of damage.
If smoke, fire or a strange smell comes out of your device, you should switch it off immediately by removing the batteries.
HEAT
The Smoke Alarm is designed to work best in normal ambient temperatures of between 0°C and 40°C and to be stored in temperatures of between 0°C and 45°C.
The Smoke Alarm may be damaged and battery life shortened if stored or used outside these temperature ranges.
Do not expose your device to dramatic changes in temperature.
Do not store your device in direct sunlight for long periods.
WATER
WARNING:
This device is not waterproof.
Never use the smoke detector with damp or wet hands.
Moisture can cause electric shocks or short circuits.
Do not use the smoke detector in or near a bath, shower or swimming pool.
BATTERY SAFETY
WARNING:
The battery compartment is sealed. Opening the battery compartment will invalidate the warranty. The batteries are not replaceable.
Do not place the Smoke Alarm near fire or in direct sunlight. The heating of the device may cause additional heating, rupture or ignition of the batteries.
Do not attempt to recharge the batteries. These batteries are not suitable for charging.
Do not attempt to modify or disassemble a battery.
Do not use your Smoke detector if a battery starts to give off odours, overheat or leak.
Do not touch leaking materials or breathe battery vapours. Leaking or damaged batteries can cause caustic injury on contact with the skin, so wear suitable protective gloves in such cases.
A battery contains hazardous substances. Do not open the battery or place anything in an exposed battery.
Do not allow children or animals to touch an exposed battery. Never throw a battery into a fire.
Do not short-circuit. A short-circuit can cause a battery to explode or leak.
An empty battery can still be dangerous.
Keep batteries away from children, infants and animals.
MAINTENANCE & SERVICE
The Smoke detector requires no maintenance, just follow the monthly cleaning instructions.
Test the alarm once a week (see the PRODUCT TEST INSTRUCTIONS section).
You must not reconstruct, repair or dismantle the Smoke detector yourself.
Check regularly for damage.
Check the fastening of the device regularly.
WARNINGS:
Do not attempt to open the Smoke detector for maintenance. Removing the housing or incorrectly reassembling it may cause electric shock, damage, short-circuiting or fire.
Opening the casing or the battery compartment for any reason will invalidate the guarantee. The Smoke detector contains no user-serviceable parts. The batteries cannot be replaced.

CLE ANING

A slightly damp or dry cloth is recommended for cleaning the outside of the Smoke Alarm. Dry with a soft cloth.
Be careful not to put too much pressure on the lid when cleaning.
Do not immerse the Smoke detector in water or other liquids. Do not rinse the device with water to prevent water from leaking into the electrical circuitry and causing malfunctions.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may penetrate the housing or impair its functionality.
Do not use a wire brush, steel wool or other abrasive objects for cleaning.
Cleaning must not be carried out by children.
Do not try to remove the cover to clean the inside. This will invalidate the warranty.
MONTHLY CLEANING:
Clean the surface of the Smoke detector every month.
Remove any dust, dirt or debris. Use a hoover with a soft brush and vacuum all sides and the cover of the Smoke detector…

STORAGE & TRANSPORT

We recommend that you clean the Smoke detector before storing it for long periods of time.
Store the Smoke detector in a dust-free place that is not exposed to sunlight and humidity.
Do not store the Smoke detector in extremely high or extremely low temperatures. This can damage the device.
Keep the device out of reach of small children.
Protect the device from vibrations and shocks during transport.

WASTE TREATMENT & RECYCLING
Disposal of the device
This product complies with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE).
The symbol with the crossed out dustbin on the device indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from normal household waste at the end of its lifecycle and taken to a separate waste collection centre for the recycling of electrical and electronic
equipment or returned to the retailer when purchasing a new similar device.
It is the user’s responsibility to take the device to a waste collection service at the end of its lifecycle. The proper collection of waste separately for subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal of the device contributes to preventing possible negative effects on the environment and health and promotes the recycling of the materials of which the product is composed The unauthorised disposal of the product by the user shall result in administrative penalties laid down by law. For more detailed information about the recycling of this product and available collection systems, please contact your local waste disposal authority or the shop where you purchased the product.
Fulfil your legal obligations and contribute to protecting the environment.
Disposal of the batteries
This device contains lithium batteries which may not be disposed of with normal household waste. The batteries should be recycled according to local regulations.
Remove the batteries from the device before disposal.
As an end-consumer you are legally obliged, according to the KCA (Small Chemical Waste) regulations, to return all used batteries.
Disposal of the packaging material
Make sure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of in an environmentally correct manner. Do not simply dispose of these materials with normal household waste, but ensure that they are collected for recycling.
Follow the instructions and markings on the packaging.
Financial contribution
The two interlocking arrows mean that the manufacturer has made a financial contribution to the recovery and recycling of packaging in Europe.

WARRANTY

Fiux warrants that this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Fiux will, at its sole discretion, replace or repair this product or any part of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement will be by a new or reconditioned product or part. If the product is no longer available, a replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or higher value, no refund will be given. This is your exclusive warranty. Your replacement device will be returned to you free of charge and will be covered by this warranty for the remainder of the warranty period.
This warranty is valid for the original purchaser from the date of initial purchase and is nontransferable. Proof of purchase is required to obtain support under the warranty.
This warranty does not cover:
negligent use or misuse of the product; use with incorrect voltage or current;
use contrary to the operating instructions;
disassembly, repair or modification by anyone other than Fiux;
damage caused by accidents or disasters, such as fire, flood, earthquake, war, vandalism or theft;
accessories such as batteries; normal wear and tear.

For damage caused by non-observance of this manual, the warranty is void! We accept no liability for consequential damage of any kind resulting from gas leakage, smoke, fire or explosion! We accept no liability for material damage or personal injury caused by improper use or failure to observe safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty is void!
Fiux reserves the right to make changes to the manual, colours, specifications, accessories, materials and models at any time without notice or obligation

The WEEE symbol means that a device must be disposed of separately from general household waste.
