Using the appliance

When using for the first time, a slight odor and a little smoke may appear during the first few minutes of use. This is not a threat nor any evidence of malfunction of the product. In this case open the window and ventilate the room until there is no more smoke or odor. Do not operate without the hotplates! Close the appliance and set to the position given on the grill dial using the rotary control: the control lamp illuminates. This extinguishes as soon as the correct temperature has been reached.

Tips

  • only use a small amount of oil to lubricate the grill plates
  • do not heat up the grill plates too long without placing food on them
  • we recommend to use oil with a high smoke point, e.g. refined sunflower oil.
  • native extra virgin olive oil should not be used as it may destroy the ceramic coating.

Introduction

Grill food light instead of dark or brown, remove burnt remnants! Do not over- grill starchy foods, especially potato and cereal products (production of acrylamides minimized). First season the under plate. Wipe the hotplates with a paper towel before placing more food on it. Do not scratch with sharpened utensils! Place small, suitable trays under the grease outlets. Frozen food items must be fully defrosted and dry. Only add salt to meat and fish after grilling.

Contact grilling
The hotplates are in direct contact with the food. Particularly suitable for grilling shashlik, chops and pork.

Party grilling or keeping the meal warm

Grilling: The food must be turned. If aluminum foil is used, this should be greased on top.

Keeping warm: Only at positions 1-2.

Au gratin dishes

  • The top hotplate should not touch the food.
  • The bread should not be toasted beforehand.

  • Never immerse the appliance or mains cable in water or place it in the dishwasher!
  • Do not use a steam cleaner.
  • Do not clean with oven/grill spray.
  • Unplug the appliance.
  • Remove the hotplates. These may be washed in a dishwasher. These are, however, best cleaned by hand when they are still lukewarm.
