Measuring solar cell energy production:
The Inspector III power meter can measure the energy production and consumption of a private balcony solar cell, and thus calculate estimated energy cost savings.

  • To do this, simply connect the plug of your solar system to the Inspector like a regular household appliance.
  • Then, connect it to a properly installed outlet of the public power supply network.
  • The values obtained now no longer represent consumption, but rather the generated electricity.
Note: Actual energy cost savings depend on various factors, such as the size of the solar cell, weather conditions, and the number of hours of sunlight.

Tips to save energy

  • The price entered should always be up-to-date.
  • Monitor the power consumption of a device for a week to get a good average and multiply the cost with 52 to estimate the cost of the device per year.
  • Find your household “power hogs”! Check the amount of electricity that your devices consume. Most TV’s and electronic devices have a so called „stand-by“ mode. When not in use, switch off these devices fully to save costs. Even when the rinse and spin cycle of your washing machine has been completed, hose and temperature sensors still require and consume an unnecessary amount of electricity. The easiest way to fight unnecessary power consumption is to simply use a multiple socket outlet with a switch.

Reset

  • The device will be completely reset to factory settings. This will delete all saved data on the device.
  • To do this, press the „RESET“ button gently with a thin blunt object. The display will show for up to one minute and then switch to Function 1.
  • We recommend a full reset if the device is unresponsive.
