OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CONTACT GRINDING
When grinding against the contact wheel, ensure that the belt guard is closed. The operator faces the contact wheel and holds the material to work up with both hands. Hands must be placed away from the place to be grinded, as the material will be warm during the operation. The material is pushed against the belt, resting on the grinding support if necessary. The material is turned and grinded on the required sur-faces.

SURFACE GRINDING
The operator faces the open belt guard, platen top, during surface grinding. The material is held with both hands and is pushed hard against the top work support the grinding function under the belt has to be clean for effective grinding to occur.

  • Note: Always grind on the abrasive side of the abrasive belt. Grinding on the left (upward) side of the linishing belt could cause the work piece to jump or kickback.
  • Note: The edge of the front work support must be positioned a maximum of 1.6 mm from the abrasive belt to avoid trapping the work piece or fingers between the support and abrasive belt.
  • Note: To avoid injury, turn switch OFF and disconnect the plug from the power source before removing and installing sanding belt.
  • Note: This belt linisher is designed only for grinding operations involving met-al and metal derived products. It is not suitable for use with any type of wood – your warranty will be void if the linisher is used for this purpose.
  • Note: If any of the items are missing, contact your distributor immediately.

ADJUSTMENTS

USE THE TRANSPARENT EYE GUARD

  • To ensure further safety when using the linisher, make sure the transparent guard is in place when in operation.
  • To use the guard, simply pivot it whichever position is suitable.

TRACKING THE BELT

  • When first starting the machine, the belt may not run centrally on the contact wheel.
  • This is corrected by turning the tracking adjuster.
  • Clockwise – belt moves towards the left Anti-Clockwise – belt moves towards the right.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

The machine should be placed on a firm level surface. The linisher can be assembled in 2 configurations:-
