Product Information: Cantus Mechanical Metronome

Thank you for purchasing the Cantus Mechanical Metronome. This metronome is designed to help musicians maintain a steady tempo while practicing or performing. It features a sliding weight, a pendulum, a winding key, a beat selector knob, and a meter plate.

Precautions

  1. Do not use the metronome in direct sunlight or locations with extreme temperature, humidity, dust, dirt, or excessive vibration.
  2. Never remove the sliding weight from the pendulum.
  3. When not in use, place the pendulum in the pendulum hook to prevent any harm.
  4. Avoid dropping the metronome from a high position to prevent damage.
  5. After use, put the pendulum back in the pendulum hook and cover the metronome properly.
  6. Clean the exterior of the metronome with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or flammable polishes.

How to Use

  1. Remove the white stopper from the bottom of the metronome and take off the cover.
  2. Turn the winding key clockwise until the spring is fully wound up. Place the metronome on a level surface.
  3. Set the Tempo:
    • Release the pendulum from the hook by sliding it to the right.
    • Slide the weight up or down to align its top line with the desired tempo number on the meter plate.
  4. Set the Beat:
    • Move the beat selector knob to ‘2’, ‘3’, ‘4’, or ‘6’ to set the beat as duple, triple, quadruple, or sextuple time respectively.
    • Set the beat selector to ‘0’ to silence the beat accent sound.
  5. Ensure the metronome is placed level and gently move the pendulum sideways to start its movement.

Precautions

  • Don’ t use the metronome in the following locations.
    • In direct sunlight
    • Location of extreme temperature or humidity
    • Excessively dusty or dirty locations
    • Locations of excessive vibration
    • Close to magnetic fields
  • Never take the Sliding Weight out from the Pendulum.
  • Do put the Pendulum in the. Pendulum Hook when you don’ t use the metronome in case that the pendulum end is harmful to human body.
  • The metronome would be damaged if falling down from a high position. Please keep the metronome carefully in case of falling down.
  • After using the metronome, please put the Pendulum back to the Pendulum Hook, and cover the metronome. When putting on the cover, place the cover bottom to the metronome body first and then press the upper part of the cover. When taking off the cover, hold the cover bottom part and pull it off. ( Refer to picture B).
  • If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or cleaning compounds of flammable polishes.

How to Use

  1. After taking the metronome out or the box, please remove the white stopper from the metronome body bottom. ( The stopper prevent the pendulum from shock during transportation.) (Refer to picture A). And then hold the cover lower part and pull it off from the metronome body. ( Refer to picture B)
  2. Turn the winding key in clockwise direction till the spring fully wound up. And place the metronome on a level surface.
  3. Set Tempo
  4. Release the pendulum from the hook by sliding it to right.
  5. Sliding up or down the weight to position the weight’s top line to the desired tempo number on the meter plate.
  • For example, if you want a tempo of 60, just positon the weight’s top line to 60 on the meter plate. 4. SetBeat
    To set a beat, move the beat selector to ‘ 2 ‘, ‘3 ‘,’ 4 ‘,or’ 6 ‘. The metronome then rings at the first stroke of duple, triple, quadruple or sextuple time respectively. To silence the beat accent sound, set the beat selector to ‘ 0 ‘.

    1.  Check that the metronome is placed level, and move the pendulum gently sideways to start the pendulum movement.
