Using the Multimeter

Charging description
The device has a built-in lithium battery. If the battery level is low, a low battery symbol will appear, the battery needs to be charged. Regarding the specification of the charging adapter, USB 5 V 600 mA, at least ~2 A is required for proper charging. Connect the Type-C charging cable to the device and then to the charging adapter. The red indicator LED lights up during charging, a green indicator light indicates that the battery is fully charged.

Remark: For safety, do not use the meter while charging, it has a protection setting, the meter will automatically turn off and cannot be used when the charging cable is inserted to charge.

HOLD B/L
Press this button briefly to keep the measurement result on the screen. If the status is active, the symbol appears on the screen. To turn the backlight on/off, press and hold the button for ~2 seconds. (Backlight turns off automatically after 15 seconds)

Warning : To avoid possible electric shock, fire or personal injury, do not use data retention function to measure unknown voltage. When the HOLD function is opened, the LCD will keep the original data when measuring a different voltage.
Briefly press the button to select NCV mode. Long press the button (~2 s) to activate the flashlight on the back.

FUNCTION BUTTON
Briefly press this button to switch between individual measurement functions. (Resistance measurement, diode test, capacitance measurement, DC V, AC V, frequency measurement, automatic identification mode „AUTO”)

Measuring instruction

  • First of all, please check if the battery charge is sufficient. If the charge level is not enough, the symbol will appear on the LCD screen and you need to charge the built-in battery. Pay attention to the mark next to the connector of the test leads. This warns that the voltage and current must not exceed the indicated value.
  • AUTO” mode can measure resistance (R), continuity, DC V, AC V, DC A, AC A.
  • „FUNC” manual mode can measure resistance (R), diode (D), capacitance (C), DC V, AC V, frequency (Freq) and can also do automatic identification (AUTO).

DCV and ACV measurement

  • Switch to automatic / manual mode, connect the test leads to the tested circuit. The polarity of the red wire and the measured voltage are shown on the display.
  • Insert the black wire into the „COM” socket, the red wire into the socket.
  • You can read the measurement result on the display. The main display shows the tested voltage value, the secondary display shows the normal temperature (DC V measurement) and the accompanying frequency (AC V measurement), the measured AC V must be ≥ 50 V for the accompanying frequency.

Useful information

  • The LCD shows „OL” if the measured value is outside the measurement range.
  • When measuring high voltage (>220 V), personal protective equipment must be worn (for example: Approved rubber gloves, face mask and flame-resistant clothing, etc…) to avoid injuries from electric shock and arcing.
  • If the input AC V / DC V voltage exceeds 24 V, the screen will turn red, warning of high voltage.

DCA and ACA measurement

  1. You can also use it in automatic mode
  2. Plug the black test lead into the „COM” socket, the red one into the „mA/A” socket, then connect the test leads to the power supply voltage or circuit under test.
  3. Read the result on the LCD display.

Useful information

  • Before connecting the test leads to the power supply or the circuit, first turn off the circuit power, and then check that the input terminal and function range are set correctly.
  • The maximum measurement current is 600 mA, alarm is set off when the measurement range is exceeded this.
  • Overload or malfunction will trip the fuse and may damage the meter.
  • Read the result on the LCD display. The main display shows the tested current value, the secondary display shows the temperature (DCV measurement) and the auxiliary frequency (in the case of ACV measurement)

Resistance measurement

  • You can turn on the resistance test function in automatic /manual mode.
  • Then connect the test leads to the resistance you want to test.
  • Plug the black test lead into the socket and the red one into the socket.
  • Read the result on the LCD display.

Useful information:

  • The LCD will show „OL” when the resistance exceeds the range. If the measurement resistance exceeds 1 MΩ, the meter may take a few seconds to stabilize. This is normal when testing high resistance.

Capacitance measurement

  1. Capacitance measurement can be activated in manual mode. (red cable polarity +)
  2. Insert the black test lead into the „COM” socket, the red one into socket
  3. Read the result from the LCD display.

Useful information:

  1. During capacitance measurement, due to the influence of the distributed capacitance of the line and the instrument, a residual reading may also occur without connection to the measured capacitance, especially when measuring small-range capacitance.
  2. To get accurate results, you can subtract the remaining reading from the measurement value to get a more accurate reading.
  3. Under high capacity range, if the capacitor is broken or leaking, the LCD will show a variable value and it will be unstable.
  4. Burn all capacity before measuring to avoid damage to the meter.
  5. UNITS: 1 mF=1000 µF; 1 µF =1000 nF; 1nF=1000 pF

Diode test

  1. In manual mode, switch to the diode test function and connect the test leads to the diode under test.
  2. Insert the black test lead into the „COM” socket, the red into the socket. (The polarity of the red wire is „+”; The displayed value is the voltage in the diode opening direction. If the test leads are connected in reverse, „OL” will be displayed.

Continuity test

  1. In automatic mode, switch to the continuity test function.
  2. Plug the black test lead into the „COM” socket, the red into the socket.
  3. Connect the test leads to the two points of the tested circuit if the resistance value between the two points is less than approx. 50 Ω, the LCD will show and the built-in speaker will sound.

Live / Phase testing

  1. Briefly press the power button and switch to the „LIVE” function
  2. Insert the red wire into the connector and touch the measured point with the red test wire.
  3. In case of sound and light signal, the measured point is live, phase point. If there is no light and sound, the connected measured line is not live.

Useful information:

  1. The range must be set according tot he safety rules!
  2. The function only detects AC standard mains power lines (AC 110 – 380 V)

NCV non-contact ACV measurement

  1. Briefly press the button.
  2. The NCV induction voltage range is 48 V – 250 V, you can use the upper part of the instrument for measurement, near electric field (AC power line, socket, etc.), the NCV induction intensity indicator in the middle of the LCD display is „EF”, and the built-in speaker sounds when the voltage is detected. As the intensity of the detected electric field increases, a line appears on the LCD.

Useful information:

  1. If the voltage of the measured electric field is ≥AC 100 V, make sure that the conductor of the measured electric field is insulated to avoid electric shock.

Frequency measurement

  1. In manual mode, press the „FUNC” key for the frequency range and the LCD main screen will show FrEq.
