PRODUCT CONFIGURATION AND INSTALLATION OF REMOTE CONTROL

Product Configuration

1 Pull the cable from the wall and check the cable direction to install.
2 Align the back cover (installation plate) and check the positions of two mounting holes on the wall.
3 Fix the back cover on the installation position through the mounting holes by using screws.

NOTE
· Depending on your environment, you can install the remote control neatly by placing the wall plate on the wall and tightening the back cover.

4 Connect the power cable to the terminal at the bottom of the remote control as shown in the figure below.

Installation of Remote Control
Follow the below guidelines for installing the remote control.
NOTE · During wired remote control installation, do not embed
inside the wall. (It may cause temperature sensor failure.) Do not install the cable over 50 m. (It may cause communication defects.) · When installing the extension cable, carefully check the direction of the connectors on the remote control side and the product side before the installation. · Extension cable specification: Use AWG 24, 3 conductor equivalent or higher wired cables. · Do not install cables longer than 50 m, as this may cause communication problems. · Install the product so that it doesn’t bend or cause a clearance with the wall. · Incorrect wiring can cause damage to the product. · To avoid damage by static electricity, touch the metal parts before handling the remote control to discharge the static electricity from the body. * 10 m Cable model: PCW- QE10A

5 Place the lower part of the remote control under the back cover, and fix the power cable to the back cover hook as show6n in the figure below to the place where the power cable will come out of the back cover. Hook

6 You can install wired remote control cable in 3 directions. Install in the direction suitable for installation environment.
· Connection direction for remote control cable: Back center, left upper end, right upper end
· When installing the remote control cable on an upper side, first remove the remote control cable guide groove before installing it.
Use a long nose when removing the guide groove, and polish the cut surface after removing it.

Using Group Control
Connect two to 16 indoor units of air conditioner to a single controller for control.

7 Fix the power cable on the back cover hook, and press the upper side of the remote control toward the back cover as in the figure.

NOTE · Connect using the group control cable.
(Model : PZRCWRCG3) · When using the group control, some advanced functions
(excluding basic operation setting, fan speed, lock, and time setting) may be limited.
1 Set one indoor unit to master and the remaining to slave.

NOTE · Failure to follow the guidelines may result in part damage
due to interference with the machine. Be careful not to let the cable pass over the wireless equipment.
8 Close the lower cover.

3 Switch OFF: Master (Default setting for shipment)

NOTE · For ceiling cassette and duct products, change the switch
setting of the indoor PCB as above. · For wall-mount type and stand type product, change the
master/slave setting with the wireless remote control.
2 After completing the master/slave setting, turn off the power of the indoor unit, and turn on the power after 1 minute.

NOTE · 2-Remo function is not supported.

1 The welcome screen will be displayed after synchronizing with the indoor unit. Booting may require up to 90 sec.

Himalaya Cool

The local special function applied to models in the India region quickly reduces room temperature.

Monsoon Dehumidifi-
cation

A local special dehumidification function applied to models in India.

NOTE · The reason why the cool air isn’t coming out immediately
after cooling is started is because of its function to protect the compressor. After 3 minutes, the compressor operates, and a cold wind comes out. · Depending on the outdoor unit cycle operation, the background color of the home screen is expressed in red for heater and blue for air conditioner. · The emergency heater is activated under emergency heating conditions after the installation and related settings. · Depending on the product, some functions cannot be set.

Additional Functions You can use additional functions. Please refer to the additional functions detailed description page.
Menu You can select the menu icon and enter to set the schedule, timer, energy, monitoring, and settings. You can also check the Notification information.

Smart Care This is a function that manages the indoors pleasantly and saves energy through AI operation.

  1. You can select the icon to use Smart Care.
  2. When Smart Care works, it is displayed on the left upper end of the main screen.

NOTE
· When there is a notification, the number of notifications and the notification icon are both displayed.
· If you press the icon, you will be moved to the notification screen.

  1. When the operation condition is not Smart Care, the standby status is displayed as below.

NOTE
· Smart Care may not be displayed/work in some products.
· Smart Care only works when the product is cooling or heating.
· You may feel that cooling and heating are weak due to the power saving operation of Smart Care.
· Precisely set the date and time for the remote control and the central controller when installing the AI engine.
· If you do not set the date and time, an incorrect result value may show.
· The site connected to our central controller places priority on the date and time settings of the central controller than those of the wired remote control.
· In case of model for both cooling/heating, if the simultaneous operation of both cooling/heating is working, Smart Care is not available.

Humidity Displays the room humidity.
NOTE · The displayed humidify may vary according to the
humidity sensing position settings (set by the installer). · Remote control: Remote control humidity display · Indoor unit: When the indoor unit humidity is received, it
displays the indoor unit humidity, and if not, no humidity is displayed.
Indoor air quality A function to monitor the dust value measured by the dust sensor in the indoor unit. You can check the concentration value of each of fine dust (PM10), ultrafine dust (PM2.5), extreme ultrafine dust (PM1.0) on the air quality screen. The general quality displays the worst dust status value among the three dust status values.

Indoor Unit Name Displays the connected indoor unit.

Run/Stop button You can turn on/off the indoor unit with the remote control.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

You can use the additional functions of the product.

The functions of the large buttons need detailed settings other than Setting and Cancel. Tapping an area above the item changes the set cancel status and tapping an area below moves to the Setup Details page.
You can select only select Setting or Cancel for the functions of small buttons without detailed settings.

A function available when a duct-type air conditioner product is linked. You can set up to eight zones and control the operation of each zone.

The function can be used actively only when the zone type and the number of zones are set.
· The duct-type air conditioner product supports the zone control function and an additional damper control apparatus is required to perform the zone control.
· Differences according to zone type
– Old type: Only the zone operation status using the wired remote control can be checked.
– New type (4 zones or 8 zones): The zone control and monitoring are available through the wired remote control.

Additional Operation

You can change the additional operation of ventilation product.

· Fast: Ventilates fast. It is a function to more efficiently operate the ventilation function through the fast setting which is an additional operation of the ventilation product.
· Power-saving: It performs the power-saving function while efficiently ventilating the air.

SCHEDULE

Select the Schedule in the menu screen and move to the schedule settings screen. Select the menu to set in the schedule settings screen and you can move to the details screen.
Daily Schedule Status
A function to check the schedule status saved in the remote control.

Add Schedule
You can add a schedule saved in the remote control.

If a schedule is booked, the operation mode icon is displayed on the time line at the scheduled time.
An inactivated schedule is not displayed on the time line.
If various schedules are booked within one hour, is displayed instead of the operation mode icon.
If you select , you can check the booked schedule by selecting the left or the right button in the booking details on a lower end of the screen.
View and Edit Schedule
A function to check the schedule status saved in the remote control.

You can add a new schedule by selecting the `+’ button.

You can set the time for performing the scheduled operation in the `time settings.’

You can set the day or period for operating the schedule in the `repeat’ settings.

You can set the operation information for the schedule in the `operation settings.’ – When the operation is OFF, you cannot set the mode, temperature, and the wind strength.

If you have completed adding the schedule by performing

through and pressing the

button, a message

saying `the schedule is added’ appears and you are moved

to the schedule view and edit screen.

Delete Schedule

You can delete the schedule stored in the remote control.

Youw can check the operation information (operation ON/ OFF, operation mode, desired temperature) of the set schedule, the schedule time, period, and day.
You can edit it by selecting the booking information of the saved schedule.

You can select the schedule event to be deleted in the

schedule list and press the

button to delete it.

Designate Exception Date
A function to automatically stop operation on the preset date.

Schedule Initialization
All the schedule-related information will be initialized.

Select the Designate Exception Date item in the schedule list, and you are moved to the details screen for Designate Exceptional Date.

You can check, add, modify, or delete the exceptional date information stored in the remote control in the Designate Exceptional Date.

To add an exception date, designate the start/end date

on the details screen for registering the exceptional

date, and press the

button. Then, the exceptional

date is stored.

Press the exceptional date to be edited, and move to the edit screen.

NOTE · Activate: Set the activate/inactivate of the selected
exceptional date. · Title: Change the title of the selected exceptional date. · Repeat: Modify the repeat or non-repeat of the selected
exceptional date. · Period: Modify the period of the selected exceptional date.

TIMER
Select the timer item in the menu screen and move to the timer setting screen. You can move to the details screen by selecting the menu to set in the timer settings screen.
Simple Timer
You can conveniently set the booking for operation or stop.

OFF Timer
The product is turned OFF automatically at the set time.

NOTE · If the product operation is ON, the simple timer is turned
OFF after the relevant time has passed. · If the product operation is OFF, the simple timer is turned
ON after the relevant time has passed. · In the simple timer, if the operation is turned ON or
OFF before the operation of the timer, the set timer is canceled.
Sleep Timer
The sleep timer is a function to operate or stop the air conditioner in the sleep mode after a certain period of time before sleep.

NOTE · The OFF timer is not canceled even if the operation is
turned ON or OFF before the timer works.
ON Timer
The product is turned ON automatically at the set time.
NOTE · The ON timer is not canceled even if the operation is
turned ON or OFF before the timer works.

NOTE · The sleep timer can be set when the product is operating. · In the sleep timer, if the operation is turned OFF before
the timer works, the timer is canceled.

ENERGY

Tap on the energy item in the menu.
You can check energy usage and set power saving settings for energy saving.

NOTE · Depending on the units selected, the accumulated energy
usage/power usage over a day/week/month is displayed. · This function may not be provided depending on the
indoor unit.
AI energy control
This is a function that allows you to check the predicted savings by calculating the system’s overall energy consumption and “Smart Care” use.

Trend Graph You can check the trend of the outdoor unit operation rate, indoor temperature, and desired temperature information during the day.

In the energy settings list, if you select AI energy control, you are moved to the `AI energy control system power usage’ settings menu.

Usage Graph You can compare energy usage time/power usage on a weekly/monthly/annual basis. You can check by usage time/power usage.

e.g. Daily basis – Total usage: 1,000 kWh, predicted savings: 30 kWh – Total usage when reduced by using Smart Care: 1,000
kWh – Expected usage when not using Smart Care: 1,030 kWh
NOTE · Smart Care may not be displayed/work in some products. · The displayed value is the power consumption for the
entire system. · The predicted savings are calculated by analyzing the
energy usage patterns while using Smart Care. For more information, refer to the LG AI engine manual or the outdoor unit installation manual. · There may be some difference between the actual usage, so use it only as a reference. · If you need the exact usage, install an additional PDI (power divider) and use it.

MONITORING

In the menu screen, select the monitoring item and move to the monitoring screen. In the center of the monitoring screen, the product operation status is displayed.
NOTE · The main information that can affect the product operation
is displayed on the left lower end of the home screen. · The warning icons related to CO2, oil change, Uvnano
operation, and errors are displayed on the left lower end of the home screen. · UVnano is a compound word of “UV (ultraviolet rays)” and “nanometer (a unit of length)”.
Description of the Icon A notification that the CO2 density is too high. When CO2 the ventilation product is connected, this is displayed when the CO2 concentration is around 940 ppm or higher. GHP outdoor unit engine oil replacement notification. Displayed when 10,000 hours of accumulated operation time of GHP outdoor unit have elapsed. UV Displayed when the UV UVnano function is working. Displayed when repair is needed during the Uvnano UV function. If the UV alarm is displayed, contact LG Electronics Service Center for repair.

Select Settings in the menu. You can set the general settings, air conditioner/ventilation settings, service settings, and installer settings for the configuration of the usage environment.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS/POWER OUTAGE COMPENSATION

Oil Replacement
A function to display the outdoor unit oil change warning when the GHP product is used. When the below icon appears on the left lower corner of the default screen, it is the oil change warning status.
CAUTION
· If the oil is not changed, the product cannot work because an error occurs.
NOTE · When the oil change alarm appears, immediately refer to
the mark and contact the service center to change the oil.
UV LED Repair
This function is displayed if UV LED repair is needed when the UVnano model is in use. UV
NOTE · If the UV alarm is displayed, contact LG Electronics
Service Center for repair.

Failure Mode
When there is a disorder in the product, you can diagnose the failure mode on your own.
1 It displays the failure mode number on the left lower corner of the default screen. – But in case of the group control, the failure mode number is displayed on the left lower corner of the default screen just as for oil change.
2 When a failure has occurred, please remember the failure number and report it to the installer/installer store, and you can receive a faster service.
3 Even when a failure has occurred, you can operate the emergency elevation grill operation. (But, the failure number 03 is excluded.)
In case of central control lock or wired remote control lock is set, it does not work.
It may not work on some products.
Power Outage Compensation
1 If the power is blocked because of power outage or any other reason, the previous operation conditions are automatically set by the power outage compensation function. So you don’t need to press any button. (But, additional functions do not automatically be set.)

CHECKLIST BEFORE REPORTING FAILURE

When there is a problem in the product, check the following items before reporting it to the service center.

Symptoms
Power is not supplied.
The timer operation does not work. No cold wind blows. The remote control display window displays an error.
The screen has stopped.

Cause

Is the air conditioner ON?

· Check the circuit breaker.
· Check the installation status of the wired remote control.

Are the air conditioner and the remote control properly connected to each other by a cable?

· Connect the air conditioner to the remote control cable.

Is the cable connected properly?

· Please check it again by referring to the installation methods in the manual.

Is the time set properly?

· Correctly set the current time.

Did you set the timer correctly?

· Please set it again by referring to the manual.

Is the desired temperature set to be · Set the desired temperature to be lower than lower than the current temperature? the current temperature.

Does the remote control display window displays `CH03′?

· Please check the installation status of the wired remote control again.
· Please check the connection status of the air conditioner and the remote control cable again.

Has it stopped at the LG logo screen for the booting or after the LG logo screen?
Does the remote control screen stop or slow during use?

· Please reapply the power for air conditioner indoor unit through the installed circuit breaker.
