Preload Assembly Instructions:
BAI0030 Crank Preloaded Ring
For RaceFace™ cranks with 30mm spindles
- Remove crankset from the bike
- Unscrew existing preload screw and remove existing RaceFace™ preload assembly
- Using only the Spacer Ring of the Cane Creek preload assembly, install completely onto the spindle of the crank so that no preload is applied.
- Reinstall the crankset onto the bike and adjust the preload as necessary, fasten 2.5mm bolt to 1.4Nm (12.4in-lb) on Cane Creek preload assembly to complete installation.
FOR SRAM cranks, both DUB (SILVER thread ring) and 30mm spindles (GOLD thread ring)

Remove crankset from the bike

Completely remove the existing SRAM™ preload assembly, both the male and female thread portion.

Apply a strip of super glue to the part of the spindle where the Thread Ring of the Cane Creek preload will be located. The super glue is intended to bond the Thread Ring to the spindle, and is NOT to be applied to the threads of the Thread Ring. Twist the Thread Ring around the spindle to spread the super glue evenly between the spindle and the Thread Ring.

After the super glue is dried, install the Spacer Ring completely onto the spindle of the crank so that no preload is applied.

Reinstall the crankset onto the bike and adjust preload as necessary, fasten 2.5mm bolt to 1.4Nm (12.4in-lb) on Cane Creek preload assembly to complete installation.
