The Smart Plug (V2.0) by U-tec is a versatile device that allows you to control the power supply to your electronic devices remotely. It offers three working modes – Smart Mode, Child Mode, and Standalone Mode. The plug is equipped with a status indicator, setting button, and power switch for easy operation. It alsosupports integration with popular voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT, and SmartThings.

Product Usage Instructions

Use it in Smart Mode

  1. Search for “U-tec” in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and download the app.
  2. Create an account and log in to the app.
  3. Select the “+” icon in the app’s main interface to add the new Smart Plug device.
  4. Follow the app’s instructions to complete the setup process.
  5. Once set up, you can use the app to remotely control the power ON/OFF of the Smart Plug.

Use it in Child Mode

In Child Mode, the Smart Plug can only be controlled through the app. To enable Child Mode:

  • Go to the settings page in the app.
  • Enable the Child Lock feature.

Use it in Standalone Mode

In Standalone Mode, the Smart Plug functions as a regular plug without any app control. To use it in Standalone Mode:

  • Press and hold the Setting Button on the Smart Plug for 5 seconds to reset it.
  • Do not set it up using the app.
  • Simply use it as a common plug, manually turning the power ON/OFF using the Power Switch.

Product Outline

Setting Button

  • Power Switch Press to turn the smart plug ON or OFF. If the Child Mode is enabled in App, the Power Switch will be disabled.
  • Reset Press and hold the Button for about 5 seconds and release it, the indicator flashes green slowly.

Status Indicator

  • Flashing green slowly
    The plug is waitting for your setting. If you don’t set it up in 5 minutes, it will come into Standalone
    Mode and power off.

  • Solid green
    The plug loses WiFi connection in Smart Mode.
    The plug is ON in Standalone Mode.

  • Flashing green and blue
    The plug is in Child Mode.
    Solid blue The plug is ON and connects to WiFi succesfully in Smart Mode.

  • Light goes off
    The plug is OFF in all Mode or you turn off the indicator in App.
