CORNING 006K88-31130-D3 MIC DX Armored Plenum Cables
Product Information
The MIC DX Armored Plenum Cables are rugged and durable cables designed for heavy traffic and challenging mechanical exposure conditions. They offer over four times the crush protection of unarmored cables and are particularly useful for applications that require extra rugged cables. The cables feature a flame-retardant outer jacket and a dielectric central member that is protected by flexible, all-dielectric armor. This armor offers easy, one-step installation.
The cables are available in different fiber counts, including 6 fibers, 12 fibers, and 24 fibers. They have a tight-buffered fiber design and come with flame-retardant inner jackets. The cables also feature dielectric strength members for added protection.
These armored plenum cables meet the flame resistance standard NFPA 262 for plenum, riser, and general building applications.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before installation, ensure that the cable has been stored in a proper temperature environment to allow it to meet the installation temperature range specifications.
- Determine the appropriate fiber count for your application (6 fibers, 12 fibers, or 24 fibers).
- Ensure that the cable is handled carefully to avoid any damage to the dielectric armor and other components.
- Strip the cable using consistent stripping techniques, taking advantage of the easy stripping feature provided by the TBII buffered fibers.
- Install the cable according to your specific requirements, taking into consideration the minimum bend radius and installation temperature range specifications.
- Connect the cable to the appropriate devices or network infrastructure.
- Test the cable’s transmission performance to ensure optimal functionality.

Flame Resistance
NFPA 262 (for plenum, riser and general building applications)
Corning MIC® DX armored plenum cables are standard MIC subunits placed inside a dielectric armor for ruggedness and superior crush resistance without the conductive properties of traditional armor. These cables are designed for use in intrabuilding backbone and horizontal installations. Individually jacketed TBII® buffered fibers enable easy, consistent stripping and facilitate termination.
The fibers are stranded around a dielectric central member that is protected by a flexible, all-dielectric armor offering easy, one-step installation and over four times the crush protection of unarmored cables. With a flame- retardant outer jacket, this cable is particularly useful for heavy traffic or more challenging mechanical exposure conditions and applications requiring extra rugged cables.
