Product Information

The SFx is a wireless headset that offers various features such as charging, power on/off, volume adjustment, battery check, phone and music pairing, music operation, mobile phone call making and answering, intercom pairing and control, FM radio functionality, settings configuration, troubleshooting, and safety approvals.

Product Usage Instructions

Charging

  • Connect the SFx to a power source using the provided charging cable.
  • A red LED indicates that the device is charging.
  • A blue LED indicates that the device is fully charged.

Power On/Off
Press and hold the (+) button and the center button simultaneously for 1 second to power on or off the device.

Volume Adjustment

  • Press the (+) button to increase the volume.
  • Press the (-) button to decrease the volume.

Battery Check

  • Press and hold the center button for 10 seconds to check the battery level.

Phone, Music Pairing

  1. Press the center button for 10 seconds.
  2. Press the (+) button to enter phone pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile phone, search for Bluetooth devices and select “SF2” from the list of detected devices.
  4. If prompted for a PIN, enter “0000”. Some mobile phones may not ask for a PIN.

Music Operation

  • Press the center button for 1 second to play or pause music.
  • Press the (-) button for 1 second to go back to the previous track.
  • Press the (+) button for 1 second to go to the next track.

Mobile Phone Call Making and Answering

  • Tap the center button to answer an incoming call.
  • Press the center button for 2 seconds to end a call.
  • Press the center button for 3 seconds to activate voice dialing.
  • Press the (+) button for 3 seconds to use speed dialing.
  • Press the center button for 2 seconds to reject an incoming call.

Intercom Pairing

  1. Press and hold the center button of two headsets for 5 seconds until the red LEDs of both units start flashing rapidly.
  2. Simply tap the center button of any one of the two headsets to pair them.

Intercom Start/End

  • Tap the center button once to start an intercom conversation with the first friend.
  • Tap the center button twice to start an intercom conversation with the second friend.
  • Tap the center button three times to start an intercom conversation with the third friend.

Radio On/Off

  • Press the (-) button for 1 second to turn on the FM radio.
  • Press the (-) button for 1 second again to turn off the FM radio.

Radio Scan Up FM Band

  • Press the (+) button for 1 second to start scanning for radio stations.
  • Press the (+) button for 1 second again to stop scanning.

Save Presets While Scanning

  • Tap the center button to save the current station as a preset while scanning.

Radio Move to Preset Station

  • Press the center button for 1 second to move to the next preset station. The available presets are numbered from 1 to 10.

Radio Seek Stations

  • Double tap the (+) button to seek up stations.
  • Double tap the (-) button to seek down stations.

Setting
Press and hold the center button for 10 seconds to access the configuration menu.

Using the Sena SF Utility App

  1. Download the Sena SF Utility App for Android or iPhone from Google Play or App Store.
  2. Pair your smartphone with the headset.
  3. Run the Sena SF Utility App and swipe the screen to the right. Tap “Setting” to configure the headset settings.

Troubleshooting

  • Factory Reset: To restore the SFx to factory default settings, use the Factory Reset option in the configuration menu. The device will automatically restore default settings and turn off.
  • Fault Reset: If the SFx is not working properly, gently push the pin-hole reset button on the back of the main unit to reset it.

Certification and Safety Approvals

  • The SFx complies with FCC radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment.
  • Follow specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure compliance.
  • The antenna used for this transmitter must not transmit simultaneously with any other antenna or transmitter, except in accordance with FCC multi-transmitter product procedures.
  • When equipped, maintain a distance of 42.3mm between the antenna and one’s head surface.

    • (+) Button – Increase the volume

Phone, Music Pairing

  1. Press the Center Button for 10 seconds.
  2. Press the (+) Button to enter into Phone Pairing
  3. Search for Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone. Select the SF2 in the list of the devices detected on the mobile phone.
  4. Enter 0000 for the PIN. Some mobile phones may not ask for the PIN.

Music Operation

  • Play or pause music: Press the Center Button for 1 second.
  • Track back: Press the (-) Button for 1 second.
  • Track forward: Press the (+) Button for 1 second.

Mobile Phone Call Making and Answering

  • Answering a call: Tap the Center Button
  • Ending a call: Press the Center Button for 2 seconds.
  • Voice dial: Press the Center Button for 3 seconds.
  • Speed dial: Press the (+) Button for 3 seconds.
  • Rejecting a call: Press the Center Button for 2 seconds.

Intercom Pairing

  1. Press and hold the Center Button of two headsets for 5 seconds until red LEDs of both units start to flash rapidly.
  2. Simply tap the Center Button of any one of the two headsets.

Intercom Start/End

  • 1st Friend: Tap the Center Button once.
  • 2nd Friend: Tap the Center Button twice.
  • 3rd Friend: Tap the Center Button triple times

Radio On/Off

  • Turn on the FM radio: Press the (-) Button for 1 second.
  • Turn off the FM radio: Press the (-) Button for 1 second.

Radio Scan Up FM Band

  • Start scanning: Press (+) Button for 1 second.
  • Stop scanning: Press (+) Button for 1 second.
    • Save presets while scanning
    • Save presets: Tap the Center Button
  • Radio Move to Preset Station
    • Move to next preset: Press the Center Button for 1 second (1 → 2 → … → 10)
  • Radio Seek Stations
    • Seek up stations: Double tap the (+) Button.
    • Seek down stations: Double tap the (-) Button.

Setting

  • Configuration Menu: Press the Center Button for 10 seconds.

Using the Sena SF Utility App

  1. On your smartphone, download the Sena SF Utility App for Android or iPhone from Google Play or App Store. Please refer to Sena.com/SF-app for more details.
  2. Pair your smartphone with the headset.
  3. Run the Sena SF Utility App. Swipe the screen to the right and tap Setting to configure the headset settings.

Troubleshooting

  • Factory Reset
    If you want to restore the SFx to factory default settings, use the Factory Reset in the configuration menu. The headset automatically restores the default settings and turns off.

  • Fault Reset
    If the SFx is not working properly for any reason, reset by gently pushing the pin-hole reset button on the back of the main unit.
