SPECIALIZED 0000189379 Globe Front Rack
Product Information
The product includes the following items:
- A Front rack
- Mounting bolts M6 x 60 mm (2)
- M6 washer (4)
- M6 nut (2)
Additional required items:
- Your Globe 0-10 Nm torque wrench
- 5 mm hex bit
- 10 mm flat wrench
The front rack uses the MIK mounting system, allowing for easy fitment of various accessories such as bags, baskets, and child seats fitted with the MIK interface. The maximum load capacity of the rack is 20 kg, but always adhere to the lower weight limit of either the rack or the accessory.
Before using the front rack, it is important to practice riding in a controlled environment to get accustomed to the altered handling due to the change in center of gravity, weight, and balance.
Product Usage Instructions
- Position the rack (A) with the holes aligned onto the headtube mount (H). Ensure no wires or cables are routed or pinched between the rack and bicycle frame. All cables should pass around the outside of the rack mount in a position that offers the smoothest cable flow.
- Insert both mounting bolts (B) with washers (C) through the rack-mount (A) and headtube mount (H). Place washers (C) and nuts (D) onto the bolts.
- Using the large torque wrench supplied with your Globe bicycle (E), 5 mm hex bit (F), and 10 mm flat wrench (G), tighten the bolts to 8 Nm (71 in-lbf).
Ensure that the accessory is securely attached to the bicycle and regularly check that the front rack bolts are tightened to specification. Do not exceed the maximum allowed cargo weight for your bicycle/fork or the rack’s maximum allowed cargo weight limit. Avoid attaching any accessory that could interfere with passing traffic, obstacles, or pedestrians.
