Frequently Asked Questions
Can I leave my phone in my bedroom and use this down the hall in the shower? Or must they be closer to each other?
Yes. I turn on my phone/music usually in the kitchen on the charger and have the bot in the shower. Estimate around 40 feet away. No connection issues.
Does it have fm radio?
You can get the SB510FM or SB517FM version if you want a radio.
How do you know when it's done charging?
There's a red light when it's charging and I think it just turns off when it's done. I can't remember off hand but if the light doesn't turn off it changes somehow. I usually just plug mine in and leave it for a couple of hours (you can't use it when it's charging btw) and it's good to go.
Anyone have trouble pairing it with an ipod nano?
My iPod Nano didn't come with Bluetooth. I have a headphone/speaker audio cable I run to speakers or an RF Bluetooth adapter I plug Nano into that does pair with this.
Does anyone have a problem with it?
I haven't had any problems with it. Actually, I've been impressed with how long the charge lasts. Maybe you aren't getting it fully turned off in between uses - you have to hold the power button longer than you'd think to turn it off. Or you got a faulty one.
Where is the speaker located?
The speaker is located at the back side of the SoundBot.
How do I turn off blue tooth?
Hold down on the power button until you hear the descending musical notes.
Can you answer calls?
Yes by pushing the phone icon.
Where can I buy a charge cord for one?
The soundbox uses the same charge cord as any phone that is not an iPhone. For example, I have a Droid Maxx and my brother has a Samsung Edge. the charger for my droid and his Samsung both work for the doubt and charge it just as well as the cord provided with the speaker.
How do I connect the Bluetooth to the speacker
Turn on the speaker. Make sure the speak isn't already connected to another device. If it is, disconnect it from that device on the device's settings. Now, turn on the Bluetooth setting on your phone. SB510 or a similar name should show up in the list of Bluetooth devices. When you click on it, it should connect and the speaker will make a noise to indicate so. Now, you can play music and it should work.
Does this work with the Samsung Galaxy 6?
Can you turn off the mic or disable to speakerphone/call feature?
Yes. You have to direct your phone to not use the speaker for calls. It is under the Bluetooth interface window.
