Instruction Manual
KINASREG® FSBWF-W
Maintenance-free motion sensor/presence detector KIN ASREG ®
**FSBWF-W with switching output, in in-wall housing, to detect the
presence of people and movements (360° / approx. 10 m). The in-wall sensor is
mounted in high-quality panel switch programmes, ideally of the brands Gira,
Berker, Merten, Jung, Siemens or Busch-Jaeger (using in-wall adapters) either
individually or i
n combination with light switches, socket outlets, etc.
The sensor is used for monitoring and detecting statuses and for motion-
dependent control of room functions, e.g. for lowering the temperature of
unused rooms. It is used indoors in corridors, offices, residential and
business premises as well as industrial and storage halls.
The i n f r a r e d m o t io
n s en s o r** detects movement over an aperture angle
of 90°⁄ 110° and a perimeter of 360°.
The patented lens system with 20 individual lenses results in very small dark
areas that are only a few centimetres wide even at a distance of 10 m, thereby
reliably detecting small movements.
T ECHNIC A L DATA
NOTE
This unit is used to detect the movement of people at a distance of up to 10
metres. The temperature difference between the person to be detected and the
environment must be greater than 5K.
If motion is detected, the potential-free relay output is
switched over, the changeover contact (root) switches from the NC contact to
the NO contact.
The hold time of the output, measured from the moment of the last detected
movement, can be preset via a potentiom- eter within a range of 4 seconds to
approx. 16 minutes.
The sensor is characterised by its long range and compact design. The
potential-free changeover contact is only used for switching safety extra-low
voltage.
SUPPLY VOLTAGE :
For operating voltage reverse polarity protection, a one-way rectifier or
reverse polarity protection diode is integrated in this device variant. This
internal one-way rectifier also allows operating 0 – 10 V devices on AC supply
voltage.
The output signal is to be tapped by a measuring instrument. Output voltage is
measured her against zero potential (O V) of the input voltage!
When this device is operated on DC supply voltage , the operating voltage
input UB+ is to be used for 15…36 V DC supply and UB – or GND for ground wire!
When several devices are supplied by one 24 V AC voltage supply , it is to be ensured that all ”positive“ operating voltage input terminals (+) of the field devices are connected with each other and all ”negative“ operating voltage input terminals (–) (= reference potential) are connected together (in-phase connection of field devices). All outputs of field devices must be referenced to the same potential!
In case of reversed polarity at one field device, a supply voltage short- circuit would be caused by that device. The consequential short-circuit current flowing through this field device may cause damage to it.
Therefore, pay attention to correct wiring!
Motion detector
In all KIN ASGARD ® motion sensors and presence detectors, a high-end variant infrared sensor with enlarged angle of aperture is exclusively used. Because of the patented lens system with 20 individual lenses, only very small dark areas are resulting, which even at a distance of 10 m are only a few centimeters wide, safely detecting also small motions. The sensor recognizes changes in the infrared radiation spectrum, so in heat radiation, resulting form the movement of persons or objects. Such movements generate a temporary change of the temperature gradient in the field. Because of the always present body (heat) radiation, this sensor is excellently suitable for the detection of persons. The temperature difference between sensor and object must be > 5 K
General notes
- The sensor is installed in the enclosure cover of the
When opening the housing, make sure that the sensor does not get damaged.
– The sensor surface must be protected from any dirt and ⁄ or damage.
- Scratches, dirt or even partial obstruction distort the measurement
- When several sensors are connected to one voltage supply of 24 V AC (alternating voltage), the correct polarity must be ensured as otherwise the alternating voltage source may be short-circuited.
- If this unit is operated beyond the specified range, all warranty claims are
Notes regarding mechanical mounting and attachment:
Mounting shall take place while observing all relevant regulations and standards applicable for the place of measurement (e.g. such as welding instructions, etc.). Particularly the following shall be regarded:
- VDE ⁄ VDI directive technical temperature measurements, measurement set – up for temperature
- The EMC directives must be adhered
- It is imperative to avoid parallel laying of current-carrying
- We recommend to use shielded cables with the shielding being attached at one side to the DDC ⁄
Before mounting, make sure that the measuring device technical parameters comply with the actual conditions at the place of utilization, in particular in respect of:
- Measuring range
- Permissible maximum temperature and humidity
- Protection type and Protection class
- Oscillations, vibrations, shocks are to be avoided (< 5 g)
Notes on commissioning:
This device was calibrated, adjusted and tested under standardised conditions.
