Congratulations on your purchase of a Turing Vision surveillance platform. Your hardware has been set up. All you need for a quick start is to activate and sign into your account.

Terminology

Account: The company or business you work for.
Alert: An intrusion – when a person or vehicle is captured in the camera stream – triggers an alert.
Bridge: A bridge connects your cameras to Turing Cloud. A bridge is associated with only one site.
Cloud: Turing Vision Cloud
Notification: Email or text messages that tell users about alerts. Notifications are set up by admins and users (site managers).
Site: A Site is a logical grouping of cameras, as defined by your account. For example, you might define the west side of a warehouse as a Site. All the cameras along the west side follow the same rules for alerts and notifications.

Users

Turing Vision recognizes two kinds of users:

  • Admin users can add or edit any users in their organization. Admin users can view camera feeds from any camera in their organization.
  • Users are site managers. They can view only the camera feeds of the sites assigned to them. Adding site managers/users is an important part of getting started.

If you’re an Admin, select Settings >Users on the left-hand menu. Click + User to show the Add User box and set up a site manager.
The new user receives an email with an activation link, as shown in Activate and Sign in.

Activate and Sign in

Your Admin will send you an email that contains a link.
Click the link and then create a password to activate your Turing account. Don’t wait – the link will expire after 2 days.

Activation logs you into the Turing home screen. In the future, you’ll use a Sign In box to access Turing Vision.
If you forget your password, click Forgot password? to reset it.

If you do not have a Turing Vision account, you may sign up by downloading the mobile application. Refer to the Turing Vision Mobile Quick Start Guide for more information.

Screen layout

Turing Vision screens display a menu bar along the left side. A working area covers the rest of the screen.TURING Vision Software - Figure

To focus on a stream, click its snapshot. The live stream fills your screen, so you see greater detail.
Click X to return to all live streams.

Set Up Notifications

TURING Vision Software - Figure 6

Notifications communicate important information that Turing Vision discovers in camera feeds. It’s how employees who are on duty and responsible for a site get the information they need.

Set notifications up by site (logical camera group) and time period.
On the left-hand menu, select Settings > Notifications.
Select a site on the Site menu and then click the edit pen.
Define notifications for that site. The phone number will be used for text notifications.
Add as many time periods and notification recipients as you need.
You can even send multiple notifications during a time period by adding multiple phone numbers and emails.

Events

An event is when a camera captures a person or vehicle in the camera stream. When searching for an event, you can select filters to narrow results. Filters include site, camera,  and time range.
INTRUSION EVENTS
What’s an Intrusion Event?
As part of the system setup, your company can define special areas where you capture activity. When activity happens in those areas, Turing Vision saves it as an Intrusion  Event. The two kinds of intrusion events are:

  • People entering the area.
  • Vehicles entering the area.

For example, you might have a camera stream that covers a busy street. You don’t want to capture an event every time a car drives down the street. However, you can define the entrance to your parking lot as a special area where events are captured. TURING Vision Software - Figure

On the left-hand menu, select Events.
Select Intrusion.

Each intrusion event is labeled with the site and camera which it was captured from.
To focus on an intrusion event, click its snapshot to see an enlarged image.
Click the Back arrow to return to all intrusion events.

VEHICLE EVENTS
The ability to recognize vehicles – by license plate number, color, make or type – is coming soon.
PEOPLE EVENTS
The ability to recognize people is coming soon.

Alert Review

To focus on an alert, click its snapshot to see an enlarged image.
Snapshots of recent similar alerts (by people/vehicle, site, camera, and time) display along the right side of the screen.
You can add a comment about the alert or change its status to False Alert. If you change it to a False Alert, it no longer appears in the Alert list. You can find it in the False Alarm listing.
Click the back arrow to return to all alerts.

People

The ability to recognize people – by ID or face – is an important feature of Turing Vision.
The People feature is coming soon. This feature will enable you to identify all the people captured by your cameras.
