Product Usage Instructions
Storage:
- To ensure fire and water protection, always store the document-safe flat with the lid facing upwards, so that the dead weight of the lid closes the seal.
- Never store the document safe in an upright position!
Ventilation
- Due to the airtight seal, it is necessary to ventilate the document safe at regular intervals for at least 30 minutes and to equip it with fresh silica gel bags in order to avoid accumulation of moisture in the interior.
Unlock and Open
- Insert the key into the locked position (fig. 1).
- Turn the key 90 degrees to the left (counterclockwise) (fig. 2).
- Pull the key out of the lock (fig. 3).
- The document box is now unlocked.
- To open the document box, pull the lower part of the lock towards you and release the latch. The box is now unlocked and can be opened.
Closing and Locking
- Press the lid down and hook the lock first at the top and then at the bottom.
- To lock the box additionally, stand the key in the lock (fig. 4) and turn the key 90 degrees to the right (clockwise) (fig. 5).
- Pull the key out of the lock. The document box is now locked (fig. 6).
Lost Key
If you have lost your key, please contact us by phone or e-mail (information can be found on the cover page). You can order spare keys by providing your invoice number, invoice address, and lock number. The lock number is engraved on the lock of your fireproof document box. Please note that for security reasons, we cannot accept key orders without proof of ownership based on the above information.
FIREPROOF DOCUMENT SAFE
The fire and waterproof document cassette is designed to protect paper documents and other valuable documents against fire and water damage. Fire protection: UL certified, 30 minutes fire resistance at temperatures up to 1093°C. Interior temperature in case of fire: below 190°C.
Caution: This safe is NOT intended for the storage of magnetic data carriers, such as data cassettes, audio/video cassettes, diskettes, films, photos or photo negatives. This safe is NOT intended for the storage of medication, items containing flammable weapons or other weapon systems.
STORAGE

OPERATION
UNLOCK AND OPEN
- Insert the key into the locked position (see fig. 1). Turn the key 90 degrees to the left (counterclockwise) (see fig. 2). Pull the key out of the lock (see fig. 3). The document box is now unlocked.
- To open the document box, pull the lower part of the lock towards you and release the latch. The box is now unlocked and can be opened.

- Press the lid down and hook the lock first at the top and then at the bottom. To lock the box additionally, stand the key in the lock (fig. 4) and turn the key 90 degrees to the right (clockwise) (see fig. 5).
- Pull the key out of the lock. The document box is now locked (see fig. 6).
Lost your key
- Contact us by phone or e-mail (see cover page). You can order spare keys by quoting your invoice number, invoice address and lock number. You will find the lock number engraved on the lock of your fireproof document box.
- Please note that for security reasons we cannot accept key orders unless we have proof of ownership based on the above information.
WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER
Limited Warranty
Gebr. Holthoff e.K. warrants that this product is free from structural or mechanical defects due to defects in materials or workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase. Gebr. Holthoff e.K. will repair or replace this product or a component of this product if it proves to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement or repair will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, it will be replaced with a similar product of equal or greater value. This warranty is only valid for the original purchaser from the date of first purchase and is not transferable. You must keep your invoice for purchase. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty service. Dealers who sell this product do not have the right, to change the terms of this warranty in any way.
This warranty does not apply to the surface finish of the product. This warranty does not cover normal wear or tear of parts or damage resulting from: negligent use or misuse of the product; improper storage; use contrary to the instruction manual; disassembly, repair or alteration by others; improper installation or exposure to extreme heat or moisture. Furthermore, the warranty does not cover damage caused by force majeure.
Gebr. Holthoff e.K. assumes no liability for incidental or consequential damages caused by breach of any express or implied warranty or otherwise related to the sale of this product; costs associated with the removal or installation of the product; damage to or loss of the contents of the product; unauthorized removal of the contents or shipping damage. This foregoing warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and Gebr. Holthoff e.K. disclaims all other representations and warranties. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in time to the period of the foregoing warranty period.
