Important safety instructions
Warning
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and/or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children must not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must
not be carried out by children without supervision. Children under 3 years of
age must not approach the product unless they are under constant supervision.
Children between the ages of 3 and 8 may only switch the product on or off if
it has been installed and positioned in accordance with the usual instructions
for use and they have been supervised and adequately instructed in its correct
and safe use and have understood the possible dangers. Children between 3 and
8 years of age must not connect, adjust, clean or perform maintenance
operations on the product.
CAUTION
Some parts of the product may become very hot and cause burns. Special care
should be taken when children and vulnerable persons are present.
Do not leave the unit unattended when in use.
Warning of hot surface!
Some parts of the appliance can become very hot and cause burns. Do not touch
the hot surfaces. The unit may only be moved by the carrying handle provided
while it is in operation.
Warning fire hazard!
To avoid overheating, do not cover the unit. Do not use or store explosive or
flammable substances (e.g. petrol, paper or paint) around the product.
Warning of electrical voltage
Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use or to clean it. Do not pull
on the cable as this may damage the appliance. Be careful not to damage the
appliance or the cable with sharp objects or in any other way. Check the cable
for damage before putting it into operation.
Do not operate the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged. Damaged
mains cables or mains plugs must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer
service or a qualified electrician.
Warning of electrical voltage
Protect electrical parts against moisture. Never immerse electrical parts in
water or other liquids during cleaning or operation to avoid electric shock.
Never hold the appliance under running water. Never use the appliance in wet
rooms. Controls must not be touched by people who are in water. Always ensure
that their hands are dry before touching the controls on the unit or the mains
plug for the mains connection. Allow the unit to dry after wet cleaning and
never operate it when wet. Before storage, assembly, conversion, transport,
cleaning or maintenance work, always switch off the unit and disconnect it
from the power supply by pulling out the mains plug. Then allow the unit to
cool down. Make sure that no foreign objects get into the venti- lation slots.
You risk electric shock, fire or damage to the unit. Do not block the
ventilation slots with objects. Keep the unit clean. The most common causes of
overheating are dust or particle deposits in the unit. You must remove these
deposits regularly by switching off the unit and vacuuming the vents with a
hoover. Do not use the appliance with a programme switch, a timer, a separate
remote control system or any other device that switches the appliance on
automatically, as there is a risk of fire if the appliance is covered or
incorrectly positioned. Do not remove safety signs, labels or stickers from
the appliance and keep them in legible condition. Do not sit on the unit. Do
not use the unit if it shows visible damage due to a fall or other causes.
Overheating protection
The unit has a safety thermostat. In case of overheating, i.e. exceeding the
operating temperature, this switches on and the heating is deactivated. The
fan continues to run to cool down the unit. Look for the cause of the
overheating and eliminate it. Turn the main switch to position 0 and unplug
the unit from the mains socket. Let it cool down completely. Then you can try
to operate it again. However, if the appliance becomes too hot or if the
safety thermostat does not switch in the event of overheating, the overheating
protection takes effect and the appliance switches off completely. In this
case, please contact the customer service.
Caution overheating!
Do not supply the unit via an external switching device such as a timer or
connect it to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by a device.
This can lead to unintentional resetting of the protective temperature
limiter.
Behaviour in an emergency
- Switch off the unit immediately.
- In an emergency, disconnect the unit from the mains supply.
- A defective unit must not be connected to the mains again!

can be rotated by 90°. This makes the small heater even more flexible as far
as its place of use is concerned.
To turn the plug 6 , you have to press and hold the release button 8 . In the
meantime, the plug 6 can be turned by 90°. When you release the release button
8 , the mains plug 6 is fixed in its set position.
Switch on the unit
If you have set up the unit correctly and ready for operation as described in
the chapter Commissioning, you can now switch it on.
- Make sure that the unit is switched off, i.e. the main switch 1 is set to 0.
- Insert the plug 6 into a properly fused socket.
- Turn the main switch to position I, then the unit is in standby mode and the power indicator light 7 lights up.
- Press the function key: On/Standby 12 to switch on the unit.
Set temperature
This unit regulates the room temperature automatically via the integrated
thermostat by automatically switching off when the set temperature is exceeded
and switching on again when the temperature falls below this set temperature.
To set the desired room temperature, after switching on the unit as described
above, use the function key 10 to increase the temperature and 11 to decrease
the temperature. The set temperature is shown on the LED display.
Note
The desired room temperature should be higher than the current room
temperature.
Note
The unit has a 60-second overrun. If the set temperature is reached or the
heater is set to standby mode by pressing the function key 12 , the fan will
run for 60 seconds to cool down the unit. This is shown on the display as a
reverse countdown from 60 – 0.
Set ventilation strength
Press the function keys 10 and 11 simultaneously to change the ventilation
intensity.
For this setting, the indication on the LED display 9 changes for a moment and
shows either:
LL = low or HH = high
Set timer
The timer can be used for automatic switch-off as well as for automatic
switch-on. Activate the timer for switching on when the unit is in standby
mode. You activate the timer for switching off while the unit is already in
heating mode. Proceed as follows to set the desired time period for switching
on or off:
- Press the timer function key 13 . The LED display 9 now shows the hours after which the appliance is to switch on or off instead of the °C display.
- Press the timer function key 13 again (several times) to enter the desired number of hours. Confirmation is not necessary. The display automatically changes back to the °C display after your selection.
Note
When the timer is activated, the appliance should never be left unattended in
a freely accessible room.
Switch off the unit
- Switch off the unit by setting the main switch 1 to 0.
- Unplug the plug 6 from the socket.
- Allow the unit to cool down completely.

Disposal
Warning Danger of suffocation!
Keep packaging parts out of the reach of children and dispose of them as soon
as possible. The packaging protects the unit from damage during transport. The
packaging materials are usually selected according to environmentally
compatible and disposal aspects and are therefore recyclable. Returning the
packaging to the material cycle saves raw materials and reduces the amount of
waste. Packaging parts (e.g. foils, Styrofoam®) can be dangerous for children.
Do not dispose of electrical appliances in household waste, use the collection
points in your municipality. Ask your local authority for the locations of the
collection points. If electrical appliances are disposed of in an uncontrolled
manner, hazardous substances can enter the groundwater and thus the food chain
during weathering, or flora and fauna can be poisoned for years. If you
replace the appliance with a new one, the seller is legally obliged to accept
the old one for disposal at least free of charge.
When disposing of the unit, the relevant regulations on the disposal of used
oil must be followed.
Devices that are damaged and/or need to be disposed of must be handed in at the recycling points provided for this purpose.
