iNet v23.4.2.1 is now available. This version of iNet Control and iNet Now includes live monitoring updates to improve GPS accuracy, critical alarm updates, and coming soon, the new Exchange Portal for iNet Exchange customers.

Audience

Safety Managers, Industrial Hygienists, and Equipment/Asset Managers using iNet Control or iNet Now.

Coming Soon…

iNet Exchange Portal in iNet Control
The Exchange Portal is a new web page within iNet Control that gives unprecedented self-service options to iNet Exchange users. Features of the Exchange Portal allow users to:

  • Seamlessly initiate gas detector exchange requests without phoning or emailing Industrial Scientific.
  • Track the status of exchange requests in a simple table, including if the request is under review, shipped, or closed.
  • Have a central location to view all current and historic exchanges by instrument type, date, or reason for exchange.
  • Quickly see the tracking number of a shipped replacement.

For iNet Exchange customers, navigate to Equipment > iNet Exchange. Users with permissions can view open replacement cases and request new replacement cases.

Feature Overview – iNet Control

Critical alarms peak value
To align alarms received on an instrument and alarms displayed in iNet Control, we have updated our logic to reference the highest peak value received. In the past, we have set criticality thresholds based on readings from the datalog alarms. Moving forward, the default behavior will select the highest of the two, which under certain scenarios will be the instrument alarm. This behavior change will affect both iNet Control application and any users of the iNet API.
Coming soon…should users wish to continue using the old behavior and calculate all criticality based on datalog alarms, we are working to add a new account setting to revert the change. This is most ideal for users wishing to compare historical data since values in the UI/API will be affected.

Session expiration timer
We have updated the default session expiration timer from 172 hours sliding expiration to a 72-hour sliding expiration.
This change enhances cybersecurity and reduces risk of third-party interceptions. Should a user’s session remain inactive past the 72-hour threshold, the user will be logged out of iNet Control.

iNet API credentials update
iNet API credentials will no longer be accepted by our servers if sent as query parameters. To increase security, API service accounts will need to send username andclient_id as form parameters to ensure proper encryption.

Datalog summary
Users can now export datalog summaries in .CSV and .XSLX format containing summary gas data and alarms for selected equipment. Previously, users could only view the summary file as in PDF format.

SafeCore 5.0% vol CH4
For SafeCore firmware version 4.41+ users can update setting from the default “100% LEL CH4” to “5.0% vol CH4 (NIOSH)”.

Navigate to Equipment > Settings Groups > edit SafeCore > Options – Sensors. Select from dropdown menu.

Feature Overview – iNet Now

24/7 Professional Monitoring people management
For customers using the new 24/7 Professional Monitoring service from Industrial Scientific, users can add, edit, or delete operators to enable the call center service. To ensure operators have the service enabled, please ensure their profile holds a subscription prior to deploying fleet.

Navigate to People > User Administration > and verify their name shows “Yes” in the “24/7 Professional Monitoring” column. To change a subscription, add/edit a user and the last box in the profile page displays options to enable/disable.

Notable Fixed Issues

Live Monitoring accuracy updates
Added logic to only display geolocation if accuracy from upload is within 100 meters.
This will reduce intermediate jumping of locations on the live monitoring map due to poor accuracy.
