Product Information

The product is a Plate designed to mount 2,000 & 3,500-lb Badland Winches onto ATVs. The Plate is compatible with winches of the mentioned weight capacity and is not intended to be modified in any way. The product comes with an owner’s manual that includes safety instructions, assembly, operating, inspection, maintenance, and cleaning procedures. The product’s serial number must be written in the back of the manual near the assembly diagram or month and year of purchase if the product has no number. The product is not a toy and should not be used by children.

Product Usage Instructions

Before using the product, read the entire important safety information section at the beginning of the manual, including all text under the subheadings therein. Follow the below instructions for mounting:

  1. Turn off the ATV’s engine and set the emergency brake before attaching the Plate to the ATV.
  2. Position the Plate between the front frame rails of the ATV with assistance.
  3. Align the mounting holes in the Plate with the factory bolt holes in the frame of the ATV.
  4. Using the appropriate size ASTM Grade 5 Bolts, Washers, Lock Washers and Nuts, attach Winch’s Fairlead onto the front of the Plate.
  5. Run the Winch’s Hook through the Fairlead.

During mounting and use, keep bystanders out of the area and wear ANSI- approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves. Do not mount or use the winch when tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication. Inspect before every use, and do not use if parts are loose or damaged. Maintain product labels and nameplates. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. Do not exceed 3,500 lb. capacity as mounting location and hardware must support winch and load.

Assembly Precautions

  1. . Install only according to these instructions. Improper installation can create hazards.
  2. Verify Plate is compatible with the ATV it is being mounted on.
  3. Before installing, read and understand the instructions and safety precautions in the ATV manufacturer’s service manual.
  4. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during mounting.
  5. Keep the work area clean and well-lit.
  6. Keep bystanders out of the area during mounting and use.
  7. Do not mount or use a winch when tired or when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.
  8. Weight capacity and other product capabilities apply to properly and completely assembled products only

Use Precautions

  1. This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with or near this Plate.
  2. Use as intended only. This Plate is designed to be used with 2,000 & 3,500 lb Badland Winches. Do not weld, bend, drill new holes in, or otherwise modify this Plate. Modifications may compromise the structure of this product, leading to sudden failure under load and decreased capacity.
  3. Inspect before every use; do not use if parts are loose or damaged.
  4. Do not exceed 3,500 lb. capacity. Mounting location and hardware must support winch and load. Be aware of dynamic loading! Sudden load movement may briefly create excess load causing product failure.
  5. Maintain product labels and nameplates. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

Mounting Instructions

Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this document including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.

  1.  CAUTION! Before attaching the Plate to ATV, turn off ATV’s engine and set the emergency brake.
  2. With assistance, position the Plate between the front frame rails of the ATV.
  3. Align mounting holes in the Plate with the factory bolt holes in the frame of the ATV. Then, securely attach the Plate to ATV’s frame with 4 sets of 8mm diameter ASTM Grade 5 Bolts, Washers, Lock Washers, and Nuts (not included).
  4. Using the appropriate size ASTM Grade
  5. Bolts, Washers, Lock Washers, and Nuts, attach Winch’s Fairlead onto the front of the Plate. Then run the Winch’s Hook through the Fairlead.
  6. Align mounting holes in base of the Winch (sold separately) with mounting holes in the Plate.
  7. Securely attach Winch to Plate, using the correct hardware.

Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
