Product Information

The SOLIS 1 LIGHT PENDANT is an indoor luminaire that comes in two color options, black and white, with SKU# 011812 and 011813 respectively. It has an insulation class of Class II and a rated voltage of 220-240V~ 50Hz. The luminaire is designed to hold a maximum wattage of 45W and has an ES/E27 lamp holder. The canopy dimensions are H:38mm Dia:126mm, while the luminaire dimensions are H:490mm Dia:320mm Susp:2000mm. It weighs 2.0kg.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before starting any electrical work, ensure that the power to the circuit you are working on has been switched OFF.
  2. Remove all packaging materials from the product and make sure you don’t throw away any accessories that may be hidden within the packaging material. If assembly is required, place the luminaire on a smooth non-scratch surface.
  3. Decide on the suspension length required for your installation location. If the length of the suspension cord needs adjusting, loosen the cord anchorage inside the canopy and adjust the length of the suspension cord. Tighten the cord anchorage, taking care not to overtighten and damage the cord.
  4. Loosen the canopy cover plate from the mounting bracket by rotating it anti-clockwise.
  5. Loosen the two screws from the mounting bracket cover.
  6. Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the screw hole positions on the ceiling.
  7. Pull the mains supply wire down from the ceiling and through the mounting bracket hole.
  8. Install the mounting bracket onto the ceiling using appropriately sized mounting screws and anchors. Make sure that the screws and anchors used are suitable for the mounting surface and the surrounding environment.
  9. Connect the mains supply wire to the terminal block. Ensure that the wires are secure and no bare wires are exposed.
  10. Check that the installation is complete and that the globe has been installed into the lamp holder. Switch the power back ON to the circuit you have been working on. Switch on the luminaire to test and enjoy your new lighting product.

Warranty

  • This luminaire is covered by a 12-month warranty. The warranty is from the date of purchase, not the date of installation.
  • If the luminaire is not assembled and installed by a licensed electrician, the warranty will be void.
  • Please retain the proof of purchase and evidence of installation by a licensed electrician for any warranty enquiries.
  • Warranty will be void if there is any damage due to improper usage or modification to the luminaire.
  • Failure to comply with the instructions in this manual may increase the risk of damage or injury and will void the warranty.

Installation

Installation Requirements

  • This luminaire must be assembled and installed by a licensed electrician.

  • All wiring and installation of the luminaire must adhere to the latest local and national wiring rules.
    E. g. AS/NZS 3000 Electrical Installations.

  • This luminaire is a Class II product and must be maintained during wiring and installation.

  • Do not exceed the maximum wattage rating.

  • Select a suitable location for installation:

    • This luminaire is suitable for indoor use only.
    • The mounting point must support 2 times the weight of the luminaire.
    • Ensure the luminaire is not installed in the direct line of an air vent/system.
    • If installing a luminaire in an area prone to moisture, ensure that the area is well ventilated, and an appropriately rated exhaust fan is used if required. Damage or corrosion caused by moisture is not a product fault, and as such is not covered under warranty.
  • Take care not to pull any electrical wires during unpacking as this may damage the connection.

  • Lay out all the components on a smooth surface and make sure no components are missing before assembling.

  • If parts are missing, return the complete product to the place of purchase for inspection or replacement.

  • Check whether the luminaire has been damaged during transport. Do not operate/install any product which appears damaged in any way. Return the complete product to the place of purchase for inspection, repair or replacement.

Installation Directions

FIGURE A

  1. Ensure power to the circuit you are working on has been switched OFF before commencing any electrical work.
  2. Remove all packaging material from the product and be careful not to throw away accessories that may be hidden within the packaging material. If assembly is required, place the luminaire on a smooth non-scratch surface.
  3. Determine the suspension length required for your installation location. If the length of the suspension cord, requires adjustment, loosen the cord anchorage inside the canopy and adjust the length of the suspension cord. Tighten the cord anchorage, take care not to overtighten and damage the cord.

FIGURE B

  1. Loosen the canopy cover plate from the mounting bracket by rotating it anti-clockwise.
  2. Loosen the 2 screws from the mounting bracket cover.
  3. Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the screw hole positions on the ceiling.
  4. Pull the mains supply wire down from the ceiling and through the mounting bracket hole.
  5. Install the mounting bracket onto the ceiling by using appropriately sized mounting screws and anchors. Ensure the screws and anchors used are suitable for the mounting surface and the surrounding environment.
  6. Connect the mains supply wire to the terminal block. Ensure the wires are secure and no bare wires are exposed.

Mains Supply Wire Neutral

  • Blue or Black Live
  • Brown or Red

Luminaire Wire / Terminal

  • Block Blue or N
  • Brown or L

NOTE: This luminaire is a Class II product and must be maintained during wiring and installation.

  1. Install the mounting bracket cover back onto the mounting bracket.
  2. Secure the mounting bracket cover by tightening the 2 screws.
  3. Install the canopy cover plate over the mounting bracket by rotating it clockwise.
  4. Remove the lamp skirt from the lamp holder by rotating it anti-clockwise.
  5. Install the glass shade onto the lamp holder.
  6. Secure the glass shade by installing the lamp skirt back onto the lamp holder.
  7. Install a globe (not included) into the lamp holder. Do not exceed the maximum wattage rating.

FIGURE C

  1. Check the installation is complete and the globe has been installed into the lamp holder.
    • Switch the power back ON to the circuit you have been working on.
    • Switch on the luminaire to test and enjoy your new lighting product.

To ensure correct function and safety, please read and follow all instructions carefully before assembly, installation, and use of this product. This luminaire is Class II and must be maintained during wiring and installation. The following safety tips should also be taken into consideration:

  • Always ensure the power is OFF and the luminaire has cooled down before performing any maintenance, cleaning, changing the globes or making any adjustment to the luminaire.
  • To avoid injury or damage to the luminaire, ensure that power leads and screws are secure before connecting the power.
  • Select a suitable location away from liquids and hazards.
  • To clean, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Do NOT soak or immerse the luminaire in water or other liquids.
  • Ensure that the luminaire does not come in contact with corrosive chemicals/solvents or abrasive cleaners etc.
