Installation
Preparing the crossbar assembly
- Unscrew the two mounting balls (1) from the fixture body (A).
- Remove the crossbar assembly (AA) from the fixture body (A) and keep the crossbar assembly (AA) and two mounting balls (1) for later use.
Installing the crossbar assembly
- Secure the crossbar assembly (AA) to the outlet box (not included) with the outlet box screws (BB). Tighten until snug.
NOTE: The preassembled mounting screws on the crossbar should protrude outward.
Test fitting ceiling canopy on the fixture body to the crossbar assembly
- Fit the ceiling canopy (2) on the fixture body (A) to the crossbar assembly (AA) and secure with the mounting balls (1).
- If this does not work, adjust the length of the mounting screws on the crossbar assembly (AA) by unscrewing the preassembled hex nuts.
- Then, screw the mounting screws in or out of the crossbar assembly (AA) until the desired length is achieved.
- Once the ceiling canopy (2) on the fixture body (A) is secure, remove the mounting balls (1) and fixture body (A) and proceed to Step 4.
NOTE: The ceiling canopy (2) should be snug against the ceiling and the mounting balls (1).
Adjust the cord length
- Loosen the set screw on the coupling on the underside of the ceiling canopy.
- Adjust the cord in or out of the ceiling canopy according to your hanging height.
- Tighten the set screw on the coupling once your hanging height is achieved.
Recommended length, from the top of canopy to bottom of socket, when mounting above a 30 inch high table:
- 8 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 12 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
- 9 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 24 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
- 10 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 36 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
- 11 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 48 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
- 12 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 60 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
Cut and strip wires
- Confirm the desired hanging height. Refer to step 4 if adjustments are needed.
- Using wire cutters, cut the fixture cord leaving approximately 10 inches of wire extending from the canopy. On the fixture cord, remove 4 inches of the outer sleeve.
- Using wire strippers, strip each wire 1/2 inch from the end.
Making the electrical connections
Use wire connectors (CC) to connect the wires.
- Ground Wire:
- Wrap the supply ground wire around the green ground screw on the crossbar (AA), no less than 2 in. from the end of the wire. Tighten the ground screw.
- Connect the fixture ground wire to the supply ground wire with a wire connector (CC).
- Supply Wire:
- Connect the supply white wire to the white fixture supply wire with a wire connector (CC).
- Connect the supply black (or red) wire to the black fixture supply wire with a wire connector (CC).
- Wrap each connection with approved electrical tape and carefully insert all of the connected wires into the outlet box.
Installing the fixture body to the outlet box
- Reattach ceiling canopy (2) on the fixture body (A) to the crossbar assembly (AA).
- Secure with the previously removed mounting balls (1).
Installing the light bulb
- Install the correct bulb (not included) referring to fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
NOTE: Use one 60W maximum medium base (E26) type “S” or 8W maximum medium base (E26) self-ballasted LED vintage Edison bulb (sold separately).
Care and Cleaning
- Do not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives. Use only a dry, soft cloth to dust or wipe carefully.
- To clean the fixture, disconnect power by turning off the circuit breaker or by removing the fuse at the fuse box, and use a dry or slightly dampened, clean cloth to wipe the exterior surface of the fixture.
