Fault Testing

Water is not boiling for Sterilization

The heating plate will produce scale (this is residue from the items as they are steam-cleaned and from the water). If scale builds-up too much it can cause the heating plate to switch-off before the water has boiled

Water flows from the bottom

This happens when too much water has been added. Please pay attention when pouring the water in, so as not to go over the correct level. Dry around the base and allow to dry in a ventilated indoor place.

Automatic turn off

If the temperature of the heating plate goes over the protective temperature, the appliance will turn-off automatically. Please do not turn it on again immediately. Allow the heating plate to cool-down for at least 10 minutes before turning it on again. Do not pour cold water onto the hot heating plate. To avoid this happening, descale the heating plate every 2-3 days by following the instructions below on how to descale

How To Descale

When the Steriliser is cool take the barrel, basket and lid off the base unit. Turn-offthe power and pull-out the plug. Put 60ml white vinegar and 70ml water in the base unit’s round stainless-steel plate and let it stand until the scale is dissolved. Then pour this mixture down the sink, being careful to pour on the opposite side to the wind vents (being very careful that fluid does not get inside the base unit where it will harm the machine). Descale every 2-3 days.

Control Panel Guide

Minbie’s bottle and teat steriliser works on the principle of steam vapour to sterilise. It also has a drying function so that the bottles and teats can dry without having to be taken out of the steriliser. This is to help keep the items dry, from bacterial regeneration.

The LCD display has a timer and the following selection of keys to press: “Sterilising”, “Drying”, “Sterilising drying” and “on/off”.

How To Use Steriliser And Dryer

Steriliser And Dryer

Steriliser

First add water to the stainless steel heating plate. We recommend 50-60ml water for around 5 minutes sterilisation. This length of time will help to look after the life of your items. Steam kills 99.9% germs on contact. (Note: The heating plate will turn-off automatically once the water has evaporated or after 10 minutes. Do not put more than 80mls water in the heating plate as the water needs to evaporate fully for the drying function to work.)

Put the bottles upside-down into the barrel. You can also add expression items like shields. Put the barrel onto the base of the unit.
Put the nipple basket, with teats, collars, bottle lids, and other small items, on top of the barrel. Put the lid on.
Press “on/off key” for the standby mode. Press the “sterilising key”. In Sterilisation mode, the LCD screen will light up, indicating that it is in use. The length of time in this mode will vary according to the amount of water that you put in the heating plate. Once the water has evaporated (or after 10 minutes) it will shutdown automatically.

(If you need to stop the process mid-way, press the on/off key. Do not open the lid until the unit has cooled. Do not pour cold water onto the hot eating plate.)

Drying

Do not add water. Put the bottles upside-down into the barrel, and put the barrel onto the base of the unit. Put the nipple basket with teats, collars, bottle lids and other small items on top of the barrel. Put the lid on.
Press “on/off” key for the standby mode.
Press the “drying” key once, it will light up and the LCD timer will display 30min (for 30 minutes of drying). If you want longer drying, press again for LCD display 40min (for 40 minutes of drying), or again for LCD 50min (for 50 minutes of drying). If you press again it will revert back to 30min drying. During the selection process the drying key flashes, then it will revert to constant and the countdown for drying will begin. After the countdown there will be a beeping sound and it will automatically turn-off.
(If you need to stop the process mid-way, press the on/off key.) Initially the air will be very hot and it will gradually cool during the drying cycle.
