Welcome to the Norsk Lithium family and thank you for purchasing a Norsk
Lithium LiFePO4 Battery. Our batteries are designed to provide reliable power
for marine & off-grid use with both heated and non-heated options available.
Our batteries are equipped with advanced technology to ensure optimal
performance and longevity. This user guide will provide you with essential
information on how to use, charge, store, and maintain your battery to ensure
optimal performance. Please read this user guide in full prior to using your
new Norsk Lithium Battery.
Product Information
The Norsk Lithium LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Batteries are high-quality batteries that come with an Advanced Battery Management System (BMS) that provides protection against common issues such as overcharging, crossed terminals, cell balancing during discharge and charge cycles, low and high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection, and high-temperature protection. These features ensure that the battery is safe, reliable, and has a longer lifespan. The battery is compatible with most popular onboard chargers that have an AGM or Lithium setting. If your onboard charger does not have an AGM or Lithium setting, use a charger specifically designed for LiFePO4 batteries. The battery is equipped with Bluetooth technology that enables you to connect to the Norsk GuadianTM App to monitor its health and charging status and receive real-time alerts to your phone.
Product Usage Instructions
Before charging the Norsk Lithium LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Battery, ensure the battery is correctly connected and securely fastened to the boat or other equipment. Never charge the battery in a confined space. If you need to charge a non-heated Norsk Lithium battery, move the battery to a heated location where the battery’s cells can warm to a temperature above 32′ F / 0′ C before the battery will accept a charge. For heated batteries, our proprietary Thermal-Core Heating TechnologyTM ensures safe charging in cold weather by measuring the temperature of the cells inside the battery and rerouting the charging current to heat the battery’s internal temperature if the cell temperature is below 32′ F / 0′ C. To store your Norsk LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Battery, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If you plan to store your battery for an extended period, we recommend charging the battery to 50% capacity and disconnecting it from the device it is powering to avoid a parasitic draw and recharge it every 6-12 months.
CHARGING
Norsk Lithium LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Batteries are compatible with most popular onboard chargers that have an AGM or Lithium setting. If your onboard charger does not have an AGM or Lithium setting, use a charger specifically designed for LiFePO4 batteries. Before charging, ensure the battery is correctly connected and securely fastened to the boat or other equipment. Never charge the battery in a confined space. For non-heated batteries, the Battery Management System (BMS) will prevent your battery from accepting a charge at temps below 32’ F / 0’ C. If you need to charge a non-heated Norsk Lithium battery you will need to move the battery to a heated location where the battery’s cells can warm to a temperature above 32’ F / 0’ C before the battery will accept a charge. HEATED BATTERIES
Our proprietary Thermal-Core Heating Technology™ ensures safe charging in cold weather by measuring the temperature of the cells inside the battery and rerouting the charging current to heat the battery’s internal temperature if the cell temperature is below 32’ F / 0’ C. Once the battery has warmed to a temperature above 32’ F / 0’ C, the current will be redirected from the thermal cores to the cells for safe and reliable charging.
BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BMS)
Our internal Advanced Battery Management System (BMS), provides protection
against common issues such as overcharging, crossed terminals, cell balancing
during discharge and charge cycles, low and high voltage cutoff, short circuit
protection, and high-temperature protection. These features ensure that your
battery is safe, reliable, and has a longer lifespan.
BLUETOOTH / NORSK GUARDIAN™ APP
Norsk Lithium LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Batteries are equipped with BluetoothTM technology. This enables you to connect to the Norsk GuadianTM App which is available for free download on the Apple App Store and Google PlayStore. With Norsk Guardian, you can connect to multiple marine batteries simultaneously, create groups with custom names, monitor their health and charging status, and receive real-time alerts to your phone. Download the app today and enjoy complete confidence on and off the water.
BATTERY STORAGE & MAINTENANCE
To prolong the life of your Norsk LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Battery, it is essential to store it properly. Store your battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If you plan to store your battery for an extended period, we recommend charging the battery to 50% capacity and disconnecting it from the device it is powering to avoid a parasitic draw and recharge it every 6-12 months.
WARRANTY
Norsk Lithium offers a 10-year warranty on all of our Norsk LiFePO4 Deep Cycle Batteries. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and does not cover damage caused by charging with an incompatible charger, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
