CAUTION: ENSURE EDGE OF RACEWAY COVER IS DEBURRED.

Instruction

  • NOTICE: FOR INSTALLATION BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES AND COMMUNICATIONS STANDARDS. ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS AND ANY INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH THE INDIVIDUAL RACEWAY COMPONENTS.
  • CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE INSTALLING. NEVER WIRE POWERED ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS.
  • NOTICE: FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.
  • NOTICE: POWER, DATA/COMMUNICATIONS CIRCUITS MUST BE SEPARATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NEC AND CEC.
  • ALL BASES MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED TO THE FLOOR SURFACE USING SCREWS WITH A MINIMUM #8 SIZE, AND WITH EITHER PAN OR HEX-WASHER HEAD STYLE, TO PREVENT WIRE DAMAGE.
  • MAXIMUM GAP BETWEEN RACEWAY BASES, COVERS AND FITTINGS: 1/16 INCH

LAY OUT SYSTEM:
LAY OUT SYSTEM ON THE FLOOR TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY DELIVERY LOCATIONS. IN- FEED UNITS SHOULD BE LOCATED BETWEEN WALL STUDS. ELBOW KITS PROVIDE 45 AND 90 DEGREE TURNS. SUGGESTED MAXIMUM OF 3 20AMP POWER CIRCUITS PER POWER COMPARTMENT.

SYSTEM INSTALLATION

WALL IN-FEED ENTRY BOX
ATTACH THE SELECTED TYPE OF WALL IN-FEED TO THE FIRST SECTION OF RACEWAY BASE. LOCATE THE IN-FEED BOX ON THE WALL AND DETERMINE IF THE WALL OR BASEBOARD NEEDS TO BE DRILLED OR CUT, OR IF ONE OF THE (2) SUPPLIED WALLBOARD-THICKNESS SPACERS NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED. DRILL\CUT\ADD THE APPROPRIATE-SIZED SUPPLIED SPACER, AND MOUNT FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTION PROVIDED WITH THE IN-FEED.

MOUNTING THE RACEWAY

STARTING AT THE WALL, CUT AND DEBURR BASE. CONNECT SECTIONS OF BASE TOGETHER WITH THE TWO PROVIDED CONNECTORS, AND TIGHTEN SET SCREWS TO ENSURE GROUNDING. THERE MUST BE NO MORE THAN 1/16″ GAP BETWEEN SECTIONS. DRILL PILOT HOLES THROUGH BASE AND INTO FLOOR TO ATTACH BASE TO FLOOR SURFACE WITH THE APPROPRIATE MOUNTING SCREWS FOR THE SURFACE TYPE. SCREWS SHALL BE NO SMALLER THAN #8, AND SPACED NO MORE THAN 36″ APART AND 8″ AWAY FROM ANY JOINT. INSTALL A SUPPLIED END STOP AT THE END OF THE RACEWAY.

SELECT A STYLE OF EDGE TO BE USED IN THE RACEWAY BASE. USING A RUBBER MALLET OR BUTT OF RUBBER-HANDLED HAMMER, SNAP RACEWAY BASE EDGES INTO THE RACEWAY BASE.

Mounting The Raceway

WIRE:
STARTING AT THE SOURCE, RUN WIRES AND CABLES TO THE DEVICE BOXES WITH THE LEAST NUMBER OF CONNECTIONS REASONABLE. THE RACEWAY SYSTEM MUST BE GROUNDED AT THE WALL IN-FEED AND AT EACH DEVICE BOX. CABLES AND WIRES CAN BE HELD IN PLACE BY THE PROVIDED WIRE HOLD-DOWNS. EXTRA WIRE SHOULD BE LEFT AT EACH DEVICE BOX TO ALLOW WIRING.
Wire

MOUNTING THE DEVICE BOXES:
THREAD THE WIRES AND CABLES THROUGH THE APPROPRIATE WIREWAYS IN THE BASE AND ATTACH THE DEVICE BOX WITH THE PROVIDED SCREWS. INSTALL THE DEVICES MAKING SURE TO GROUND THE DEVICE BOX. ATTACH THE COVER PLATE WITH THE SCREW PROVIDED. NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL DEVICE-BOX PLASTIC END CAPS UNTIL THE RACEWAY COVER HAS BEEN INSTALLED.
