USER MANUAL

Features

The amplifier offers 4 channels divided into front (FRONT) and rear (REAR) channels with independent controls:

  • LEVEL: Adjusts the level of the input signal;
  • CROSSOVER: Lets you choose between Low-Pass, High-Pass or Flat (FullRange) performances.

Before installing

Please read this manual carefully.

  • All product connections must be made with the product turned OFF.
  • A fuse must be installed between the amplifier and the battery is required to protect against overcharging. The fuse has to be installed as close to the battery as possible. Check the proper  fuse for the amplifier according to its consumption.
  • Use gauges recommended in this manual to avoid the overheating of the cables to obtain maximum power.
  • Keep the cables as short as possible to increase sound fidelity and avoid potential power losses.
  • Route the installation cables as far away as possible from the original vehicle wiring as it may cause interference and noise in your audio system.
  • Perform the installation in a firm, ventilated and dry place.
  • Installation must be done by a qualified professional.

If you have questions , contact the store where the purchase or installation was made.

Input and audio controls

  1. INPUT (Front e Rear): This input should receive the signal through an RCA cable that is properly connected to the RCA output of the Radio/MP3 Player.
Entries are divided into REAR (rear channels) and FRONT (front channels).
We recommend RCA cables with STETSOM triple shielding.

  2. LEVEL (Volume control): Responsible for controlling the level of the input signal. The left regulator controls the REAR input and the right regulator controls the FRONT. They provide  proper adjustment for any Radio/MP3 Player.

  3. CROSSOVER (SLIDE SWITCH L.P.F./ FLAT / H.P.F): This switch allows you to select that type of CROSSOVER will be used for the channels, with the left regulator for the REAR  input and the right for the FRONT input.
    The switch has three positions:
    L.P.F: In this position, the LOW-PASS filter that reproduces low frequencies (below 90Hz) will be activated;
    FLAT: In this position, the channel will be operating in FULL-RANGE and all the frequencies present in the audio will be reproduced;
H.P.F: In this position, the HIGH-PASS filter that reproduces the high frequencies (above 90Hz) will be activated.

  4. COOLER: It provides cooling of the amplifier. Install in a cool place without obstruction of air inlets and outlets.
Tips for adjusting the input signal:
    • On the Radio/MP3 Player, turn on any musical signal and set the volume to 80% of the maximum. For example: if the maximum volume of the Radio/MP3 player is 45 (100%), set to 36 (80%).
    • On the amplifier, put the LEVEL at the lowest setting and increase gradually until you notice the sound distorting.
    • Slowly lower the LEVEL until you no longer hear distortion in the sound.
    Audio output and power

  5. OUTPUT CONNECTOR (SPEAKERS): FRONT and REAR outputs with stereo signal. Be careful to maintain the correct polarity of the speaker connections and check the minimum  output impedance in the technical specifications.

  6. POSITIVE POWER SUPPLY CONNECTOR: Connect to the positive battery terminal using cables with a gauge recommended for the purchased model. Always use a fuse compatible  with the consumption of the product closest to the battery to protect the electrical part of the vehicle.

  7. REMOTE CONNECTOR (REM): Allows automatic activation of the amplifier when turning on the radio/player. Connect to the remote output of the radio/player mininum of 18 AWG.

  8. NEGATIVE POWER SUPPLY CONNECTOR: Connect to the negative battery terminal using cables with a gauge recommended for the model purchased.

Indicators LEDs

The product has two LEDs on the top cover that allow you to view its operation:
POWER (blue LED): Indicates the operation of the amplifier when lit.
PROT (red LED): The led will light up in the following situations:

  • Short circuit at the speaker outputs.
  • Temperature above that allowed.

Troubleshooting

DOES NOT TURN ON:

  • Check that the cables are connected correctly. Make sure that all connections have electrical and mechanical contact.
  • The fuses or circuit breakers may be faulty or blown. Check the status of the circuit breakers and make sure they are compatible with the consumption of the equipment.
  • Check the charge of the battery and make sure it is sufficient to operate the product.

NO SOUND:

  • Speaker cables or RCA plugs may be defective or not connected correctly.
  • Make sure that the LEVEL control is not set to minimum.

LED PROT ON:

  • Check to see if the ventilation inlet of the product is obstructed or the product is overheated.
  • Check the loud speakers, cables and connections for short circuits.

POOR SOUND QUALITY (DISTORTIONS):

  • The speakers may be overloaded or defective, lower the level and redo the level adjustment.

WEAK BASS:

  • The polarity and of the speaker cables can be inverted (speaker out of phase).

NOISE AND SOUND FAILURES:

  • Run the shielded input cable away from all other cables since it is more sensitive to interference.
  • Install a separate power source (+ 12V) for the sound system. Use a fuse/breaker within 30 cm of the battery for protection.
  • Ground the amplifier well. To do this, remove the paint from the vehicle chassis at the desired point and connect the wire using a grounded terminal.

In order to prevent rust, insulate it with paint.

  • Do not loop the ground or use multiple grounds. If possible, use a star connection in which all the grounds run from a single point.
