INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY
LONGINES is delighted you have chosen a timepiece from its collection, which
lives up to the brand’s long-established know-how, based on research combined
with technical excellence and timeless elegance.
S.A. grants you, with effect from the purchase date, a twenty-four (24)
month warranty on all LONGINES® watches models and a five (5) year warranty on
the automatic watches purchased from January 1, 2021, under the terms set out
in this warranty. All watch straps and bracelets are covered by a 24-month
international warranty for any material or manufacturing defects. The
LONGINES international warranty covers defects in materials and manufacturing
that exist at the time of delivery of the LONGINES watch purchased
(“defects”). The warranty takes effect only if the warranty certificate has
been dated and fully completed by an official LONGINES dealer (“valid warranty
certificate”). During the term of the warranty and on presenting the valid
warranty certificate, you are entitled to have any defect repaired free of
charge. In the event that repairs cannot restore your LONGINES watch to full
working order, La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A. undertakes
to replace it with an identical LONGINES watch or another LONGINES watch with
similar characteristics. The warranty for the replacement watch expires on the
same date as the warranty for the replaced watch.
The warranty does not cover:
- battery life;
- normal wear and tear (such as scratches on the case and/or glass; alteration of the colour and/ or material of cases, straps, bracelets and chains made of leather, textile, rubber or any other non-metallic material; the PVD coating; the colour of bronze);
- damage to any part of the watch resulting from unsuitable/improper use, neglect, carelessness, accidents (knocks, dents, crushing, scratches when changing the strap/bracelet, etc.), incorrect use of the watch, or failure to follow the instruction manual;
- harm of any nature whatsoever resulting directly or indirectly from using the LONGINES watch or from any operational failure, defect or lack of precision in the watch;
- a LONGINES watch having being handled by a non-approved person (for example, for the purposes of replacing the battery or carrying out servicing or repairs) or having been altered from its original state other than under the supervision of La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A.
Any other claims against La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A., for example for any kinds of damage or harm other than those set out in this warranty, are expressly excluded, excepting statutory rights that the purchaser can assert against the manufacturer.
This manufacturer’s warranty:
- is independent of any warranty that may be provided by the vendor and for which the vendor accepts sole responsibility;
- in no way affects the purchaser’s rights against the vendor nor any other statutory right the purchaser may have against the vendor.
The Customer Service department of La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A. ensures your LONGINES watch is perfectly maintained. If your watch needs servicing, entrust it to an official LONGINES dealer or an approved LONGINES Service Centre as listed on our website at www.longines.com: their servicing is guaranteed to comply with the standards of La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A.

Precautions concerning water resistance
A watch’s water-resistance can be affected by changes caused by the gaskets drying out, or an accidental shock to the crown. To help maintain your watch’s water-resistance, we recommend rinsing it in soft water after any contact with sea water and having its water-resistance checked once a year by an approved LONGINES Service Centre. In no circumstances should you open your watch yourself.
IMPORTANT! Never activate the time-setting crown and/or push-pieces when the watch is underwater, and ensure that the crown and push-pieces are pushed in or screwed down before any immersion in water.
WARNING
KEEP THE BATTERY OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
The battery can cause serious injuries if swallowed or placed inside any part
of the body. Seek medical attention immediately.

Screw-in crown
Some LONGINES models are equipped with a screw-in crown, which must be
unscrewed before setting the time, correcting the date or winding, by turning
it anti-clockwise. After making the settings, return the crown to position 1,
then push it back in and screw it in firmly to ensure the watch’s water
resistance.
First use
THE WATCH IS DELIVERED IN “ENERGY SAVING” MODE The watch hands are factory-set to 12 o’clock, and the crown is held in position 2 by a black clip placed around the winding stem. This part must be removed before first using the watch. Check with your retailer that this operation has been performed. If not, follow the procedure below: Remove the black clip to release the crown. Push the crown back into position 1; the watch is automatically set to the Swiss time and date. You can then set the local time (refer to the “time- setting” section).
IMPORTANT
If the crown is pulled out to position 2 for more than 60 seconds, the watch
will automatically revert to “energy saving” mode, and the hands will return
to 12 o’clock.
Time-setting
Pull the crown out to position 2. Turn the crown either way to the desired time display. ROTATE THE CROWN SLOWLY to set minute by minute the second hand will automatically return to 12 o’clock. ROTATE THE CROWN QUICKLY to set hour by hour the hand will move one hour forward or backward. As soon as the time is synchronised, push the crown back into position 1.
Date correction
Pull the crown out to position 2. Turn the crown quickly either way, to move the hour hand forward or backward in successive one-hour steps, without affecting the minute and seconds displays. When the hour hand passes midnight, the calendar will automatically display a new date – either the next day or the previous day, depending on the direction of correction. Hence there is a limit of +/- 1 day, so as not to disrupt the perpetual calendar. Push the crown back into position
End of life (E.O.L.) and end of energy (E.O.E.)
The watch indicates that the battery is reaching its end of life via one of its hands jumping every 5 seconds. After approximately six months in this mode, the watch will switch to E.O.E. mode: the hands will stop at 12 o’clock. If the watch battery is replaced in E.O.L. mode or within six months of switching to E.O.E. mode, you will not need to adjust the perpetual calendar. If however the battery is replaced after this period, an approved watchmaker will need to program the perpetual calendar.
Chronograph function (partial times)
Used for measuring successive events, but not the intervals between them. Each result is automatically added to the preceding one. To time the various stages of a car rally, for example, follow the procedure below: At the start of the first stage, press push-piece 2: the chronograph will start. At the end of the first stage, press push-piece 2 again: the chronograph will stop. Repeat for each stage of the rally. At the end of the final stage, the chronograph will show the final time for the rally, in other words, the accumulated time for all the stages. Press push-piece 3 to reset. After 36 hours’ timing, the movement assumes that you have left it on by mistake, and to save the watch battery, automatically resets the chronograph.
Split-seconds function (intermediate time)
At the start of the race, press push-piece 2: the chronograph will start. Press push-piece 3 to see the first split time; the chronograph seconds and 30-minute hands will stop. To continue timing, press push-piece 3. The chronograph hands will jump to the time elapsed since the start of the race. The split-seconds function and stop can be alternated indefinitely by pressing push-piece 3. Press pushpiece 2: the chronograph will stop. The chronograph will now display the total race time. Press push-piece 3 to reset.
