Product information

The Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i-Size car base is exclusively compatible with the Tutis ELO/ELO lux i-Size seat.

WARNING! The Tutis ELO/ELO lux i-Size car system is an approved i-Size with holding system under the ECE Rl29 regulation for children between 40 and 87 cm and a maximum weight ofl3kg, suitable for car seats compatible with “i-Size” as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer in the use and maintenance booklet.

This approval will be invalidated if changes or alterations are performed at the base or car seat.
Changes can only be made by the manufacturer.

NOTE: for installing the Tutis ELO/ELO lux car seat, refer to the car seat installation manual.
NEVER use “Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i-Size” on a front seat equipped with front airbag.
IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.

DANGER!
DO NOT USE THE CAR SEAT POSITIONED ON A PASSENGER SEAT EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAG.
The opening of airbag against the car seat can cause serious injury, if not lethal, to the child. Refer to the vehicle instruction manual. As regards the use of car seats, check whether the compatibility with ISOFIX retention systems is indicated in the vehicle’s manual and maintenance manual.

WARININGS

  • Never keep a baby on your lap in a vehicle. The forces released in a collision are way too high for any person to hold the baby. Never fasten yourself and the child with a single vehicle safetybelt.
  • Never buy a second-hand base.
  • In case of doubt, or for more information on the Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i­Size on specific cars, contact the builder of the retainer or retailer.
  • Do not leave the child unattended by car even for short periods. The temperature of the passenger compartment can change suddenly and become dangerous for the chi Id inside.
  • Do not use the base if it has failures or missing parts or if it has been subjected to violent stresses in an accident because it could have suffered non-visible but extremely dangerous structural damage.
  • Check if the compatibility with ISOFIX restraint systems is indicated in the vehicle’s manual and maintenance manual.
  • Don’t let children make adjustments or play with the Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i-Size.

  • Don’t leave children alone in the vehicle.
  • Never leave the child unattended in the seat for any reason.
  • Make sure the folding seats are securely locked.
  • Do not install the Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i-Size on the seats facing the opposite direction or transversely to the common sense of vehicle march.
  • Make sure the Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i-Size is not stuck in between by the door or a foldable seat.

Installation of the base

Refer to the ca r’s man ua I to identify the ISOFIX points of the vehicle.

IMPORTANT! The ISOFIX anchor points (a) are two metal loops and are located between the backrest and the car seat. If in doubt, refer to the instruction manual of your car for assista nee.

  • Do not place objects in the foot area in front ofthe child seat.
  • Always extract the support leg (7) until it is up to the vertical position (fig. 7).
  • Release the ISOFIX (7) connectors lock. Both clampings can be adjusted independently.
  • Press both buttons (7) simultaneously and remove the ISOFIX connectors from the base to the limit switch (fig. 2). The ISOFIX (6) connectors must stop in the ISOFIX anchor points (A) of the car seat with a audible click (fig.3).
  • Make sure the base remains firmly in place by trying to extract it from the ISOFIX connection guides. The GREEN safety indicator (B) must be clearly visible on both ISOFIX release buttons (fig. 3).
  • Then push the base towards the backrest until it is completely aligned with the backrest (fig. 4).

Support leg adjustment
Make sure the support leg (7) is fixed in a vertical position.
Press the adjustment button (9): extract the support leg (7) until it touches the vehicle floor. The support leg indicator (C) on the foot (S) will appear GREEN (fig.SJ. IMPORTANT! Make sure the base rests the most on the surface of the car seat. If necessary, interpose a thickness (for example a towel, a cushion, etc.) to keep it horizontal.

WARNING! The support leg (7) must always be in direct contact with the vehicle floor. There must be no objects or spaces between the vehicle floor and foot (8) of the leg. If there are storage compartments in the car platform it is necessary to contact the vehicle manufacturer.

Fixing the car seat to the base

IMPORTANT! Make sure the surface of the Tutis ELO/ELO lux Base i-Size is clear from free moving objects, the child is ensured with the integrated harness system in order to guarantee the correct installation of the base in the vehicle.

  • Make sure that both locking bars (6) are locked at the ISOFIX anchor points (a) of the car seat.
  • Place the car seat on the base, with the front towards the backrest of the seat.
  • Rotate the handle against the seat (read manual of the Tutis ELO/ELO lux i-Size car seat for adjusting the seat handle).

IMPORTANT! AFTER THE OPERATION IS COMPLETED, CHECK THAT THE SEAT IS CORRECTLY LOCKED BY LIFTING THE CAR SEAT BY THE HANDLE.

Car seat removal
Unlock the tightening by pulling the release button (2) and lift the car seat from the handlebar. The base indicator (d) now becomes RED.

Removing the base from the vehicle

  • Unlock both ISOFIX connectors (6) by simultaneously pressing the buttons (7) and extract them from the vehicle’s ISO FIX connection guides (a).
  • Remove the base from ISOFIX anchor points.
  • Return the connectors (6) to the original position.
  • Press the adjustment button (9) to return the support leg to its original position and then fold it to save space.

Safety in the car

WARNING! In the event of sharp brake or accident, people or unfit or unsafe objects could cause injury to other passengers. Always make sure:

  • seat backrests are locked;
  • that all car passengers wear safety belts;
  • that the seat is always well hooked on the car seat,even when not in use.

WARNING! The car seat and the base must always be fixed correctly in the vehicle even when not used. In the event of emergency braking or accident, a non-fixed seat can hurt other passengers or yourself.
In order to guarantee the best possible security to all passengers make sure:

  • When installing the car seat in the front passenger seat, adjust the seat to the rearmost position.
  • All objects, which can cause injury in the event of an accident, are adequately positioned.
  • The car safety belt buckle does not completely reach the end of the belt. If in doubt, contact your dealer or car seat manufacturer.
Car protection

Using the Base i-Size, traces of use and/ or discoloration can appear on some seats made with delicate materials (for example velvet, leather, etc.).
You can avoid it by putting a blanket or towel under the base for example. For installation, see the INSTALLATION OF THE BA SE chapter. In this context, see our indications for cleaning. It is essential that these are followed before the first use of the base.

Product cleaning and care

Plastic parts can be cleaned with a mild detergent and warm water.

WARNING! Please do not use chemical or bleach detergents under any circumstances!

  • All important parts of the base must be checked regularly to verify that they are not damaged.
  • Al I mecha n ica I components must work properly.
  • It is absolutely essential to make sure that the base is not blocked between rigid objects as vehicle doors, seat guides etc., as this could cause damage to the product.

What to do after an accident
WARNING! An accident can cause damage to the car seat that is not clearly visible. Please replace the base even if it is intact after an accident. If in doubt, contact your dealer or manufacturer.

Product lifespan
This product has been designed to be able to perform its intended functions with ordinary use for a product life of approximately7years.
Gradual wear of plastic, for example caused by exposure to sunlight (UV), can cause a slight deterioration of product properties. Since very high temperature fluctuations and other unpredictable stresses are common in vehicles, the following points must be observed:

  • If the vehicle is directly exposed to strong sunlight for long periods, the base must be removed out of the vehicle or covered with a light cloth.
  • Regularly check all plastic and metal parts of the base for any damage or changes in shape or colour. If you notice a change in the base, dispose it or deliver to manufacturer for inspection.

Disposal
To protect the environment we ask the user to separate and dispose of the waste arising at the beginning (packaging) and at the end (parts of the product) of the life of the base.
Waste disposal is organized differently according to local authorities.
To ensure that the product is disposed of in accord a nee with regulations, contact your local waste disposal agency or local authority. Always observe the waste disposal regulations of your country.

Guarantee conditions
The following g ua ra ntee conditions a re only va I id in the country in which th is product was initially sold by a retailer to a consumer. The guarantee covers all manufacturing and materia I fau Its that were present at the ti me of purchase or that became apparent within two (2) years following initial sale of this product by a retailer to a consumer. If a manufacturing or material fault appears during the guarantee period, the product will be repaired free of charge or-at our discretion-exchanged for a new one.

In order to claim services within the scope of this guarantee, the product must be returned to the retailer who initially sold it, and an original proof of purchase (receipt or invoice), which shows the purchase date, name and address of the retailer and product name, must be presented. There is no entitlement resulting from this guarantee if the product is sent for purposes of claiming the guarantee service to the manufacturer or any person other than the retailer who initially sold it.

The guarantee is only valid if the product was checked immediately after purchase for completeness and manufacturing and material faults. If the product was sold via mail order, it must be checked immediately after receipt for completeness and manufacturing and material faults. If damage is present, the product must not be used and must immediately be returned to the retailer who initially sold it. In the event that the guarantee is claimed, the product must be returned in a complete and clean condition.

Please read the instruction manual carefully before making contact with the retailer. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, external influences (water, fire, traffic accidents or the like) or by normal wear and tear.
The guarantee is only granted if the product has been handled and used in accordance with the instruction manual, repairs or modifications have been exclusively made by persons who had permission to do so and only original components and accessoryparts were used at all times.
This product guarantee does not exclude, or in any other way limit either the basis of the consumer rights of the applicable laws or rights against the seller due to breach of on tract.
