Cleaning:

When water with a lot of scale is used it can happen that some scale covers the bottom of the water tank, in the base or on the surface of the ultrasonic transductor surrounding area. When the scale covers the transductor too much the appliance cannot work correctly.

If the appliance is not used for some time, e.g. during the summer or when too much scale is inside the appliance, then do according following instructions.
The appliance must be unplugged and the water must be removed from the base and out of the water tank by opening the cover at the bottom of the water tank and pour out the water. Only

close the water tank again when the appliance should be used again, else the water tank should dry up completely.

Scale remains at the base, the transductor and the water tank should be wiped away. It is essential, that the transductor is not damaged. When there is excessive scale some scale remover should be used or fill vinegar in the bassin. After some time, depending on deposit, the scale dissolved. After this the base must be cleaned completely with clean water. The filter should be put into salty water (1 spoon salt per litre) for one day for recovery.
Then rinse the filter with clear water and shake it and then let it dry

Before the first use:

After a longer non use of the appliance the water filter should be placed for 20 min in salty water. The bottom of the water tank and the water basin is with a nano-silver structure and reduces the growth of bacteria. Positive ions make the water softer.

Important note – Filling in of water:

The tank cap with the water filter is opened by turning the tank cap counter- clockwise (it is located under the water tank No. 9). Then you can fill in cold water in the filler neck. Tightly close the tank cap with the water filter. Place the water tank correctly on the support No. 15 so that it can properly work.

Start-up of the device:

Connect the plug with the mains socket. A beep sound is heard, and the display shows the current room temperature and humidity, and standby is indicated in red in the top left corner of the display. The water tank is lit by a blue LED. The standby operation consumes 1 watt.

Press the Power button ① . The standby symbol disappears from the display, and your air humidifier starts immediately. 1-6 bars are shown on the display, and water vapour comes down from the water tank through the directed nozzles (No.

  1. which you may turn by 360 degrees.

When no or not enough water is left in the tank, just a red drip is flashing on the display, and 3 beeps sounds can be heard from the device. Refill water as described in (Filling in of water). The device re-starts immediately after the full water tank has been placed in position again.

After approx. 1 minute, the display lighting (-50%) changes over to sleep mode to save energy. As soon as you press a button, the lighting of the display returns.

Humidity

By pressing the Humidity button (setup flashes on the display) you can adjust the humidity in a range from 45 to 90%. As soon as the device has reached the adjusted humidity in the room, it is switched off. When the humidity drops below the adjusted one, it is automatically switched on again.

Please note:

In the program Humidity, your air humidifier controls the water vapour automatically.

By means of the Max/Min button, you change the water vapour and so the quantity of sprayed water.

1 – 9 bars are displayed at maximum. Consumption 30 watts
1 – 3 bars are displayed at minimum. Consumption 20 watts Your air humidifier always starts with the medium program; 1 – 6 bars are displayed. Consumption 25 watts

The percentage of water mist in a room and the air temperature are together the relative humidity. The correlation between mist and air is varying at the different temperatures. The higher the temperature is, the less water mist can be in the air. In winter time the cold air comes from the outside and gets warmer by the room temperature. The relative humidity is getting lower. The humidity must be increased by a humidifier.

The relative humidity in a room should be:
bedroom or living room: 45-60%
sickroom: 40-50%
library: 40-50%

Heating (100 watts)

By pressing the button Heating (the Heating Symbol appears on the display), the water is slightly pre-heated so that the water vapour of the room air does not withdraw to much temperature. When you switch on Heating, 100 watts energy more are consumed.

Timer

By means of the button Timer, you can determine the time how long your air humidifier shall work. You have the option to choose from 1 hour to 12 hours. When the adjusted time is over, the air humidifier returns to the standby mode. Press the button Timer; 1:00 is flashing on the display. Now you have 5 seconds left to make any changes, otherwise 1 hour is activated. When you press the button 6 times after each other , 6:00 is flashing on the display, etc. When you intend to switch off the time, you have to press the button Timer for so long until the display does not show any time.

Ion

By means of the button Ion the water vapour is enriched with negative ions. The effect is pure nature: after a summer thunderstorm the air is especially rich of negative ions, so it is very fresh.
Press the button Ion. The display shows the symbol . You can switch it off at any time by pressing the button Ion.

By pressing the „Ionisation“-button there will be negative ions in the air. The effect is like in nature. After a summer thunderstorm the air is filled with negative ions and feels therefore very fresh.

Quantity of ions per cubic centimeter of air:
at high mountain 8000 ion/ccm
at the sea 4000ion/ccm
at the countryside 1200ion/ccm
in the city 200ion/ccm
in the office only 20 ion/ccm

Remote control

You can control all functions by means of the remote control. Pay attention that there are no obstructions between the device and the remote control.
Batteries for the remote control are not included.

To enjoy the benefits of the device for a long time, you should consider the following notes:

  • A decalcification filter No. 12 is installed in your Steba air humidifier that functions properly if the water is not too hard.
  • When you use hard water the filters have to be replaced regularly so that the air humidifier can function properly.
  • It is better to operate the air humidifier with soft water; this reduces the frequency of the replacement of the decalcification filter.

However, the decalcification filter No. 12 should be generally replaced once a year.

Important: Clean the inner space No. 15 and the membrane No. 13 once a week with a soft cloth or brush so that no sedimentation may occur. The less salt is in the water the less sedimentation occurs.

Steba tipp

Weekly cleaning avoids white sediments. Bacteria and germs will not have a chance!
When the device is regularly used, its cleaning will be easier and quicker.
