Electrical

Separate Power Sources
Please ensure your review the power output of any device you connect to the M425-1and M450-1. Models M425 and M450 is intended to be provided with an appropriately certified power module suitable for the destination country with an output rating of 12V DC, 1.5A, Tma 50°C, Class II and evaluated as a Limited Power Source/Class 2 Transformer, output rated SELV, non-energy hazardous. Suitability of the power module subject to auditing agency’s discretion.

Location – Electrical Considerations

CAUTION: Due to the risk of electric shock or damage to the terminal, do not use this equipment near a water source, for example near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink
or laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool. Likewise, avoid using this product during thunderstorms causing power cuts. Avoid placing the terminal near electrical devices or other units that could cause large voltage fluctuations or electrical interference, such as air conditioners, neon signs, high frequency safety devices or electrical equipment.

This device is for indoor use only. Do not operate the device outdoors; it is not waterproof or dustproof. Any damage to the unit from exposure to rain or dust may invalidate the product warranty. Keep the device away from dust, humidity, moisture, caustic chemicals or oils, direct sunlight, high heat and anywhere that radiates heat such as a stove or a motor.

WARNING! Your device contains sensitive electronic components that can be permanently damaged if exposed to excessive shock or vibration. To minimize the risk of
damage to your device, avoid dropping your device and operating it in high- shock and high-vibration environments. Do not store the device where prolonged
exposure to extreme temperatures can occur, because it can cause permanent damage. Do not expose the device to water. Contact with water can cause this unit to malfunction.

Repairs

Contact your local Verifone distributor or service provider for assistance. Do not attempt any service, adjustments or repairs on this equipment under any circumstances. Failure
to comply will void the product warranty.

Coin Cell Instruction

Dispose of the battery pack in accordance with all national, state, and local laws and regulations as regionally required. Some batteries may be recycled and may be accepted
for disposal at local recycling centers.

CAUTION : There is risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

  • Disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an explosion.
  • Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
  • A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

This device complies with the limits for a Class B digital device as specified in Part 15 of FCC Rules and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada licenseexempt
RSS standard(s) which provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device may not cause harmful interference.
  2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy. And if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. In the unlikely event that there is interference to radio or
television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

operation channels only. This device and its antenna(s) must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

RF Exposure

USA
The product complies with the FCC RF exposure limit set forth for an uncontrolled environment and are safe for intended operation as described in this manual. The further RF exposure reduction can be achieved if the product can be kept as far as possible from the user body or set the device to lower output power if such function is available. The
SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg for body worn SAR and 4W/kg for extremity SAR. This device has been tested and meets the FCC RF exposure guidelines be positioned
a minimum of 0 cm from the body. This device complies with SAR for general population/uncontrolled exposure limits in ANSI/IEEE C95.1-1992 and has been tested in accordance with the measurement
methods and procedures specified in IEEE 1528-2013.

CE
This device complies with the Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) issued by the Commission of the European Community. A minimum separation distance of 0 mm must be maintained between the user’s extremity and the device, including the antenna during extremity operation to comply with the RF exposure requirements in Europe. To compliance with RF Exposure requirements in Europe, third-party belt-clips, holsters or similar accessories used by this device should not contain any metallic components. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply with RF exposure requirements, and should be avoided

The product complies with the Canada portable RF exposure limit set forth for an uncontrolled environment and are safe for intended operation as described in this manual.
