Product Information
The Emtec SSD (Solid State Drive) is a storage device that uses flash memory to store data. It is available in three different series: X250, X300, and X400. The X250 series uses M.2 SATA III interface and is called SSD POWER PLUS. The X300 and X400 series use M.2 NVMeTM interface and are called SSD POWER PRO. The X300 series uses PCIe 3.0 interface while the X400 series uses PCIe 4.0 interface.
Important Safety Instructions
- Exercise caution while removing the Emtec SSD from the Desktop/Notebook as it may have heated up.
- Keep the Emtec SSD away from sinks, drinks, bathtubs, showers, rain, and other sources of moisture to avoid electric shocks.
- Do not disassemble, crush, short circuit or incinerate the Emtec SSD as it may cause fire, injury, burns, or other hazards.
- For X400 Series, to avoid overheating, the use of a heatsink is highly recommended (not included).
- Maintain the Emtec SSD away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures. Do not bend, flex, drop or throw it.
- As a user, you are responsible for complying with all environmental, safety and usage specifications referred to in this product manual.
Data Backup and Warranty
- To prevent data loss, it is strongly recommended to proceed with at least one backup of your data. Any data loss or corruption while using the SSD is the sole responsibility of the user.
- The Emtec SSD comes with a 3-year warranty for X250 series and 5-year warranty for X300 and X400 series, from the date of purchase. Within the warranty period, the manufacturer will repair or replace your SSD in case of material or functional defect. The manufacturer does not take any responsibility in case of data loss.
- It is suggested that one regularly backs up their personal data.
Product Usage Instructions
- Handle the Emtec SSD carefully and avoid dropping or throwing it.
- Do not touch the connector of the Emtec SSD. Hold it by the edges or frame.
- Do not remove, damage, or cover the labels on the product as it may invalidate the warranty.
- If you have an X400 series SSD, it is highly recommended to use a heatsink to avoid overheating.
For any assistance or queries related to the Emtec SSD, refer to the user manual or contact customer support.
Safety & Handling Instructions:
- Avoid touching the Emtec SSD’s connector. Handle the Emtec SSD using its edge or frame. Do not remove, damage or cover any product labels. Removal of such labels voids the warranty.
- Ensure the Emtec SSD does not exceed following operating temperature: Minimum : 0˚C / Maximum : 70˚C
- Exercise caution when removing the Emtec SSD from the Desktop/Notebook as the Emtec SSD may have heated up.

Installation Guidelines
Before installing the Emtec SSD please take all necessary precautions to comply with the computer manufacturer’s handling instructions.
- Power off the Desktop/Notebook and disconnect the main power cord from the wall outlet.
- Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for details on how to remove the computer’s outer case, and where the M.2 slot is located on the motherboard.
- Make sure that the connector M.2 of the motherboard is compatible with the standard of your SSD model. SATA for X250 series / PCIe Gen3 for X300 series / PCIe Gen4 for X400 series. PCIe Gen4 Series is also compatible with PCIe Gen3 slot but speed will be lower. Connect directly the SSD to the M.2 connector of the motherboard. Refer to the installation instructions of the computer manufacturer. Put back the computer cover and plug back the power supply.
- Power on the system to verify that the installation was successful.
Additional Safety Instructions
Keep the Emtec SSD drive away from direct sunlight, moisture and extreme temperature. Do not bend, ex or drop your Emtec SSD drive. The user is responsible for complying with all environmental, safety and other usage specifications outlined in this Product Manual.
Disposal Instructions:
Do not dispose of the Emtec SSD with unsorted waste. Improper disposal may be harmful to the environment and human health. Please refer to your local waste authority for information on return and collection systems in your area.
Data backup:
To prevent data loss, we strongly recommend proceeding at least to a backup of
your data. Any data loss or corruption while using the SSD is the sole
responsibility of the user. Under any circumstances will the manufacturer be
held liable for compensation or data recovery.
Warranty
This SSD has 3 years warranty for X250 series and 5 years warranty for X300 and X400 series, from date of purchase. Within the warranty period, we will repair or replace your SSD in case of material or functional defect. We do not take any responsibility in case of data loss. It is suggested that one regularly backs up their personal data.
The warranty does not apply:
- For damages caused by natural disaster.
- If the SSD has been repaired or dismounted by unauthorized persons.
- If the product has been destroyed voluntarily or unvoluntarily.
- If the warranty label or capacity information have been changed or removed, if the serial number does not appear clearly or does not match.
- If the SSD was bought from unauthorized channel.
- If the warranty period has expired.
