enhanced voice clarity, consider using the included configurable boom

Only charge your ISOtunes ULTRACOMM Aware with a maximum 5 Volt charger. Using
a charger higher than 5 Volts could be dangerous and may damage your ISOtunes
product. Be especially careful with “quick charge” or “turbo charge” chargers,
which often supply 9, 12, or 15 Volts.
Noise Attenuation
This product has been tested to the European Safety Standard EN352-2:2020 and
the ANSI S3.19-1974 standard for a hearing protector with a Single Number
Rating (SNR) of 32 dB and a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 24 dB. Full
testing details are available on page 2 of this booklet.
ANSI S3.19-1974
The level of noise entering a person’s ear, when ISOtunes® ULTRACOMM Aware
earbuds are worn as directed, is closely approximated by the difference between
the A-weighted environmental noise level and the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR).
Improper fit of this device will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise.
Consult the enclosed instructions for proper fitting.
- A1: Frequency (Hz)
- A2: Mean Attenuation (dB)
- A3: Standard Deviation (dB)
Example:
- The surrounding noise level measured at the ear is 100 dB.
- The NRR of ISOtunes® ULTRACOMM Aware is 24 dB.
- The noise level entering the ear is approximately equal to 76 dB.
Please note that the NRR is based on the attenuation of continuous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise, such as gunfire.
EN 352
- B1: Frequency (Hz)
- B2: Mean Attenuation (dB)
- B3: Standard Deviation (dB)
- B4: Assumed Protection Value (APV) (dB)
H = Hearing protection estimation for high frequency sounds (f ≥ 2000Hz)
M = Hearing protection estimation for medium frequency sounds (500Hz < f < 2000Hz)
L = Hearing protection estimation for low frequency sounds (f ≤ 500Hz)
SafeMax™ Technology
ISOtunes® ULTRACOMM Aware incorporates SafeMax™ Technology; therefore, its
volume output is limited to 85 decibels (IT-75), or 79 decibels (IT-76).
ISOtunes® devices with SafeMax™ Technology are ANSI tested and OSHA compliant.
Aware™ Technology
When utilizing the boom mic and listening to music, Aware Technology will
remain useable and active, based on the user’s adjustment. Once a call is
taken or the earbuds are connected to a communication device, Aware Technology
will turn off. As this device is focused on use in loud environments, this
feature is meant to allow the user to hear the digital communication via
earbud more clearly.
ULTRACOMM Aware has 4 levels of Aware:
- High
- Medium
- Low
- Off
The levels are changed by tapping the left earbud on the top of the center panel. Increase the volume by tapping once, or decrease the volume by tapping twice. A single beep means that the level has successfully been raised/lowered. A double beep means that the highest or lowest Aware level has been reached.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Clean your ISOtunes ULTRACOMM Aware by gently wiping them with a clean, damp cloth with mild soap.
- Do not immerse the earbuds in water.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean the earbuds.
- If the earbuds get wet from sweat or rain, please discontinue use and allow them to dry.
