CONTROLS
HARDWARE SETUP
Your Rudder Pedals come with two different sets of pedals, one for steep pedal setups (as found in smaller, private airplanes) and one for flat pedals (as in large, commercial plane types). This setup can change anytime depending on the plane you want to simulate. Your Rudder Pedals come with two different sets of springs to control the resistance of the pedal operation.
- Using the Allen key provided, remove the screw cap, then pull the spring out.
- Insert the new spring and close the chamber by tightening the screw cap.
- Repeat the process for the other side with the matching spring.
Your Rudder Pedals come with two sets of rubber pads to ensure a secure grip on different surfaces: One set for flat surfaces and spiked for use on carpets and similar surfaces. To attach the pads, remove the protective film on the back and attach them to the recessed areas on the bottom of the product.
The pedal width can change to further simulate the craft you are flying. There are six positions to choose from.
To adjust the width, push the Lock Handle on one side, move the pedal base to the desired position and release the handle again. Make sure that both pedals are set to the same width.
CONNECTING TO PC
The Rudder Pedals are set to work in PC Mode by default. Use the supplied 2m USB-A to USB-C to connect the product to your Windows PC. Windows will recognize the device automatically, and the product LED will shine white. The pedal axes will now be assignable in your simulation software of choice.
PASS THROUGH CONNECTION FOR XBOX
Use the Pass-Through cable to achieve Xbox compatibility via the VelocityOne Flight system.
- Start with the VelocityOne Flight* connected to an Xbox console and set to Xbox Input Mode.
- Remove the existing USB-C to USB-C cable from the Yoke and throttle quadrant.
- Connect the pass-through cable to match the corresponding port colours as shown.
- Push and hold the Mode button on the pedals for three seconds, then release. The status LED will turn blue.
- On the VelocityOne Flight FMD, navigate to the Accessories menu and enable the Rudder Pedals.
VelocityOne Flight must be running the latest firmware to enable compatibility.
FIXED INSTALLATION
The Rudder Pedals can be fixed to existing cockpit setups using the supplied screws. To prevent material wear and potential damage to the product, do not over tighten the screws.
Note : When installing the Pedals, make sure they are fixed to a sturdy, even surface.
CALIBRATION
The Rudder axis is calibrated at factory to the widest pedal width. When you first power up the pedals and move the rudder axis to min and max deflection, it will self-calibrate to the width you have set. If you change the width of the pedals, we recommend power cycling the product. You can then move the rudder axis through full deflection again and the new calibration data will be set
SAFETY INFORMATION
Do not use excessive force on the pedals. To prevent damage, do not stand on the pedals.
- Do not overtighten screws when changing the springs or pedals to prevent material damage.
- This product uses strong springs. Use caution when adjusting to avoid possible injury when operating the mechanisms.
